Yes, there is no doubt about the wonderful sound of Amira's voice and people love to hear her sing but there is another profound quality of this gracious young girl, the charm of her nature combined with her natural personality and her own wisdom, radiating her inner beauty is very appealing. We will all continue to be inspired by her natural radiance.
Amira - "The Singing Lawyer". In the years to come Amira could turn the legal systems upside down with the love and light that she brings to all she does and as she continues to lift the world with her angelic voice.
And that's precisely what I was just thinking, faultless on every count. I would love to have a sneaky look at her back, to see if she really has wings. God bless her. I do hope, should the world be so lucky, she lives a long, long life.
Love you Amira, you are my fav female singer of all time, I am 50 years old and never have I been into opera until I heard you on Hollands got talent and i started to listen to your singing, you are just totally stunning and incredible, you can bring tears of joy to people. Loads of people have tears in their eyes when they listen to your stunning voice, you are truly amazing and an incredible human being. Love all your songs and you have a gift from god you really do x.
Steve Sherman - great job with the interview. It was clear you were conducting it from an educator's standpoint. We only get to hear a few interviews a year with Amira, so yours was very welcome and appreciated.
Steve, it seems like some folks were thrown off by your style because they may not have understood that as an educator, your main target audience was schoolchildren. For the next time, perhaps you could better explain that in your video intro or in the discussion portion of the YT post. I do have one nit: the volume of your voice was considerably greater than Amira's, which may have given the impression of being "overbearing". Can you equalize the volumes a bit? I look forward to your next interview with Amira!
Ed Goudreau hi E... thanks for your feedback... I reckon that the main reason I was a little too loud is because I have earphones on and we know what that can do. I will certainly bear it in mind for future interviews as well as the disclaimer at the start ;-)
"for me it's like walking". no need to wonder why this is new young wonder of the world. great interview mr. sherman....what a beautiful young lady, in all ways...
Steve Sherman. I would not say I was really a fan, more of a worshipper. She must have lost her wings on the way down. Very special indeed. May God bless her.
Yes !! What does that mean like walking. To me that means she can sing with no conscious effort. You singers out there - isn’t that somewhat out of the normal even for a great singer?
I can not find the words to describe the feeling I have when I hear her sing, , she simply steals my entire vocabulary from my mind, , looking forward to hearing her for many years,. Thanks for the time You and Amira , put into this interview.
I can tell you this about Opera singers today: Most of my life I could not stand sopranos singing opera. It was like fingernails on a chalk board, it would make my ears bleed. For some reason, we may never know the answer short of a scientific investigation, the sopranos today sound so beautiful they quicken your very soul and bring tears of joy to your eyes. And I have to be honest, for me, this all began with Jackie Evancho, and then to Amira, and couple of other up and coming soprano opera singers. There is just something very different and beautiful about soprano opera singers voices today which was not there before.
Michael R. Foreman - interesting experience. I never hated opera, just was bored with it because I could never understand the sung words. But Amira connects with my soul in a way that it doesn't matter whether I can hear or understand the words - the voice and feeling alone are enough. Also, I am middle aged and appreciate finer classical music more than before. Might it be possible that the change you experienced is more than just recent fine young opera singers, but also that your music appreciation is changing as you grow older? Just wondering.
Nope. My interests in music have not changed. I still dislike rap immensely. And I still love to play rock and roll riffs on my guitar. All I know, is sopranos today, are not the sopranos of decades ago. I have sang in choirs which have sang before the Queen and at Canterbury, singing mainly classical music from the greats - but that has nothing to do with it either.
Your comment does not even compare apples to oranges. It is irrelevant to the topic. We are not talking about Amira at age 9 and Amira aged at age 13, we are talking about how the sopranos have changed over the decades - from blood curdling screeching by a woman trying to be a soprano when she was really an alto to sopranos today who are natural, and sound like angels.
Now I have listened to an extremely talented, and very "down to earth" young lady, and I am even more impressed than I have been before. The initial talent contest in Holland was my introduction to Amira, and I must admit that I am unable to listen to her without weeping before she finishes a song. For her to have such a talent, and that she has remained as "meek and down to earth", is a tremendous trait that I have the utmost respect for. I truly wish for her to have the exact life that she wishes to have. Her generousity is admirable, and I hope that her manager can assist her in the proper control of the large amount of assets that she will no doubt gather,,so that she will also be able to prepare for her future, and that of her family, and retirement. God has given her a tremendous talent, and she is giving it to us in turn. There are so few people that have her opportunity to contribute to the world, and I am truly grateful that I have been able to hear her sing,,,,,,,also glad that I can listen to her sing whenever I wish, by going to my computer. I am also very impressed with her mastery of the English language. I remain a very avid admirer, and introduce her to any and all of my friends !
Great interview. I am a late comer to the Amira fan world as I was just recently forwarded her HGT audition, and I was blown away by it. When I searched TH-cam for additional clips of her I found many performances and interviews. The performances speak for themselves, but most interviews appear to spend more tine with the interviewer and little is really learned about the interviewee. Your wonderful format allowed Amira to be the focus of the interview and having her on camera for the entire time exposing her various moods and reactions, allowing me to get the know the person she is. Great work! One last comment, when you asked what her secret was to her longevity on the market, Jan espoused the obvious about her talent, but for me it is not only her obvious talent, but also her wonderful personality... this young lady is "good people" :) Thank you.
Amira's comment that singing to her is just like walking reminded me of a story about Enrico Caruso. His personal physician was in the process of writing a book entitled Caruso's Voice Production. He handed the manuscript to Caruso and asked him to check whether he correctly described Caruso's voice production technique. Without looking at a single page Caruso handed the manuscript back to the good doctor and said: I have no idea how I produce my voice. I just open my mouth and the voice comes out. Perhaps, in connection with this it might be worth mentioning how somebody else described Caruso's voice. When the then director of La Scala learned of Caruso's untimely passing he stated that there are many great Tenors who have the same physical attributes, such as vocal cords, etc., as Caruso but in Caruso's case all these different attributes worked in complete harmony.
And she likes 80’s music. The more I learn about her the more I like her. She has definitely piqued my interest in opera, which is a major hurdle for me as I know doodley about opera
Steve enough already, that poor girl looks awfully tired, Amira eyes are closing. Please can you wait for this interview when she be able to do it. Can't you see how tired she is. Chicago lL.
These are the countries where Amira has already performed (for you, Steve, in alphabetical order ;-)): Argentina, Austria, Belgium, China (Hong Kong), France, Germany, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, USA, Vatican City. If this list isn't complete, please let me know!
Great interview and I want to thank you for doing the interview and doing it well and also Amira for allowing it. It was a pleasure to watch. I also would like to see an appearance of Amira and Jackie Eavanco. I think that would be a great pairing. I would also like to see and listen to an interview about the concert in south Africa that you referred to with Amira singing "O Solo Mio" including the acting that Amira did that really mad the show. If you ever do this interview please let me know. Thanks
She is an angel, and she sings like an angel in the sky sings with the voices of the all angels coming into my ears and bring my heart beating down, she is my calm down voice.
Mr Sherman, Thanks for the terrific interview, you kept our little angel smiling most of the time with your humor, and me as well. Had not previously heard of you , but for what it's worth , you have a new fan, thank you sir.
HI Kay, thank you for your kind words. We have many exciting interviews lined up - visit livingmaths.com and you are welcome to watch our others if you visit livingmaths.com/videos This is not the last time that I will be connecting with Amira.... watch this space ;-)
+Steve Sherman - In the mean time have a look at her various documentaries to catch her thoughts on various topics. There are some real good questions to ask Amira which were not covered here. You can prepare for the next time you will be connecting with Amira. :-)
Great interview ! The interviewer is clearly a funny kind of guy and is entertaining to listen to. Amira, her family are great too. Very enjoyable interview ! Amira has an extraordinary talent and a warm personality !
I thought this interview was very interesting, but: 1) It was way too long. Amira was getting pretty worn down towards the end. 2) The interviewer was too pushy and spoke too much. If you compared the airtime of the interviewer's speech to that of Amira's you would probably get about 3:1. A good interview should be the other way round. On the plus side, Amira showed a great spontaneity and genuineness of character, which only reinforced the image I already had of her. And, it also effectively silences all those who claim that she must have had singing lessons prior to her HGT performance: from her honest and innocent answers, that was evidently not the case.
idling dove In truth, a child's answers tend to be short and sweet, and in this sense the child interviewee needs prompting, which the interviewer did well. But I agree with you that the interview should have not became so long. Too much pressure on one so young.
She is just a gift for humanity, she is god manifesting in a special way. All we are gods but she is a super godess who knows she knows how to sing, how to perform, how to smile, how to be intelligent, how to be gracefull and spontaneous, how to be patient to support this interviews, how to make the sentitive people cry just for her singing. Thanks god for her existence.
Nice job Steve. Your interview displayed what a truly charming and authentic person Amira really is. Loved listening. I wish you would have asked her when next alblum is coming out and how she learned English so quickly. Also I need clarification on the artist she was referring to when she said she listens to 80 music. My hearing is not to good but I thought she said it was Neil Young. If it was, it was actually 70"s music and he was the go to Artist when many of us Veterans in USA were coming home to from Viet Nam. That is amazing if that is who she is listening to. Because his music and her music soothe the soul.
+Mike Huskins: 1.) Amira is going to record her 3rd album in July 2017 in South Africa. 2.) She said she likes music of Céline Dion and the music of the 80s. I have to disappoint you that she doesn't listen to grunge. ;-)
Sorry, I didn't know him before but this is an excerpt from Wikipedia: "His gritty guitar work, especially with Crazy Horse, earned him the nickname "Godfather of Grunge".
Sabine no problem I also went to Wikipedia at least the American version and didn't see that quote. Personally I don't hear any resemblance to grunge. I'm not personally attracted to grunge. To me his earlier music before the crazy horse album was soothing , easy listening and at the time very popular. Listen to the song Old man or Harvest Moon and compare to any song by Pearl Jam and your notice a difference. Any way this is about Amira , who is the new star of today, especially with all the craziness in the world she brings us all back to normal. The only comparison I was making was that Neil Young did the thing in the early 70"s. Music totally different but same effect.
+Mike Huskins I also looked up Neil Young on Wikipedia and found the exact quote mentioned by +Sabine aus MG: Young is supposed to be the "Godfather of Grunge". Not quite sure where that came from. Maybe later on his style changed, but for me the name Neil Young conjures up his 1960's and 70's classic style epitomized by Buffalo Springfield and CSN (Crosby, Stills and Nash). These bands have little, in my opinion, in common with early 1990's grunge bands epitomized by Nirvana and Pearl Jam (although I also appreciate their music). Anyway, getting back to Amira, I didn't understand what she said either, but I don't think it was Neil Young...
She is beautiful both inside and out. Such a caring smarty young lady. The best part is she has been able to maintain her childhood while doing her life’s passion.
Amira is blessed with and a heavenly gift but at the same she’s a hard working girl to improved her singing voice. She’s a miracle a gift for all who loved her.
Sabine aus MG While I would love to give myself credit for being smart, the reality is that I interview people that I find interesting.... the head of NASA.... former white supremacist....transgender activist.... some are popular and some are not. Amira is just so wonderful and I am pleased for her if she receives exposure! She deserves it.
Sherman, because of watching your interview with Amira, I looked at some of the other interview videos you have done and you have indeed interviewed fascinating people. A great idea for you to do these interviews. I hope you you get lots of new viewers from the interview with Amira. I liked the 'being in the room with her' casual approach you took. You did do much of the talking at times, but I'm thinking that you expected many more questions to come from the kids and had to fill the gaps at times and come up with more questions yourself. Unfortunately there was a distraction when you asked her how she thought her voice might change in the next few years and that got forgotten. Another question I had hoped someone would ask was when did she think she would make a 3rd cd but no one did! Congratulations - a 'one of a kind' interview that gave a lovely glimpse into what down to earth person Amira is. She is quite unique.
What is shown here is a real-life angel It's a technique that allows angels to do something that makes me smile and speak even words that are difficult to answer without words or words that are difficult to answer for a long time, and that don't embellish anything, fascinate, heal, and smile all while staying as it is God, please protect our Amira Thank you and be happy, thank you
Think the interviewer likes the sound of his own voice, and some of the questions seemed to perplex Amira. How can she explain her talent, it's second nature. She responded in a very competent manner though. Well handled.
She is indeed talented. English was not her first language at the time of the interview and the internet connection meant we had sound issues... We will be doing a follow up interview later this year and you will be pleased to know that Amira is now very well spoken and you will get to hear far less from me 😜
Amira is Dutch, so you enter Holland got talent. Dat kan ik me ook nog herinneren, je ging een liedje zingen. Zo leuk. When I went to Music school we were 9jrs and we went to Opera as well.
America? Don't make me laugh. America has no taste in music, Amira is to sophisticated for this country.Would not appreciate her music genre. Vile rap music is America's forte.
Amira anđeoskog glasa kojim zna izraziti najdublje emocije.
AMIRA IS SELECTED BY GOD, OR MOTHER NATURE, TO BE WHO SHE IS. SHE ONE IN A BILLION. SHE WILL BE LOVED AND ADORED FOR HER WORKS AND HER SINGING HER DESTINY WAS WRITTEN BEFORE SHE WAS BORN. SHE WILL BE KNOWN AS ANGEL AMIRA.
I love Amira. Amirayou so sweet. I love the way you sing . i love to get your cd. Whit all my hart . you hart is so good . i like to be happy women for some time. Bey beyz. Johnny Disbrow
My guess is that even if Amira decides to pursue law, singing will still be a "hobby" or side activity. In any case, she has a few years to decide which way to go, years in which she is free to be a "normal" teenager and choose her own path. I sure hope that path includes singing!
Heel wat grote bv Amerikaanse sterren combineren hun carriere met studies en ronden hun studies meestal met goed resultaat af .Amira hoeft als ze advocaat wil worden ,niet te stoppen met zingen en optredens.
She can make time, if she likes, to sing at benefits. Her parents have been very wise, allowing Amira to have as normal a life as possible, not pushing her or seeing her as a money maker.
What an annoying interviewer.....he's asking such vacuous questions......! Amira is above all this, and doesn't need to prove anything! Bless her! Gxxx
+Steve Sherman - In the mean time have a look at her various documentaries to catch her thoughts on various topics. There are some real good questions to ask Amira which were not covered here. You can really prepare and get some facts straight for the next time you will be connecting with Amira. :-)
Hi Graeme, many thanks for your feedback. I am sure that you can appreciate that the interview is targeting an audience of young children who don't know Amira as they don't normally have access to social media. I appreciate that Amira's biggest fans would be watching this interview with certain expectations. As long as her character and sheer talent came through then I am pleased. One must remember that there are many documentary videos about Amira and I did not want to rehash all the same content. That being said, Amira enjoyed the interview and I look forward to connecting with her in June when she visits South Africa.
Thanks for the reply Steve, much appreciated......I hadn't appreciated the audience you were catering for....please accept my sincere apologies......and thanks for taking the time to reply...not many would do that. Amira is such a wonderfully talented young lady, so generous and kind hearted...from an older fan's stand-point I was being defensive of her undoubted talents. I am so pleased Amira is being introduced to new & younger audiences,....the more the merrier....So keep up the good work, Best wishes, Graeme
Funny when people ask her how she can do what she does, She can never answer the question. Humanity did something good so God gave us Amira, Or more likely, God sent Amira to help humanity, Either way she is an Angel. I did see a bit of rebel in her when she said she would want to sing with Jackie. Amira would blow Jackie off any stage and she knows it, Maybe she wants to put the comparisons to rest, Haha.
Good point with Amira being uncertain about her gift and its impact on people. She just wants people to like classical/opera music like she does, and that's that. I was a bit confused when she mentioned Jackie. She probably doesn't have a contentious bone in her body, and perhaps sincerely wants to meet her and/or sing with her - just another facet of Amira to look forward to down the road!
Amira has a way of surprising everybody; if this happens, I'll be agog to see what they do - but it's a brave (or foolhardy) man to make any predictions, other than that it's likely to be a big surprise to the more rabid of Jackie's fans - tho what sort of surprise I don't dare guess.
This interview shows how annoying a poorly done interview can be. First, is the camera too close to her face? Her face seems slightly distorted. Second, she looks a bit tired. Third, the interviewer talks too much, putting words into Amira's mouth, and he talks too loudly. He seems enchanted with his own voice. Also, some irrelevant questions. He doesn't allow Amira to be her humorous, creative self-to show her poise, her amazing humanity, which is what a good interviewer can do. I did learn a few things from the interview, but not 56 minutes worth-such as when she sings she looks above the audience at the lights and basically sings to herself as if she were singing in the shower. Other singers, so I've read, pick out one person in the audience and sing to that person. Also, her manager didn't respond very well to why she has been so successful and not forgotten. Two added things, besides her voice and singing ability (and control of her voice), are her personality (never taking herself totally seriously) and the fact that she sings with such feeling. You can't listen to her and not weep.
Hi Stan, many thanks for your constructive feedback. In Amira's defence, the interview had some technical glitches whereby the pc they were using was unable to connect and subsequently they used a cellphone for the interview. This would impact on the quality of the picture and sound as well as the movement of the device. Regarding my interviewing skills, perhaps your expectations were aimed too high to begin with as it was an informal interview with children as the main audience and allowing them to participate in the interview as well. Regarding me liking the sound of my own voice... quite to the contrary but it is the only one I have. One has to bear in mind that English is not Amira's mother tongue and teens are not by nature overly conversational. There were no set questions and the impromptu interview took the form of a discussion. I value your feedback and will take this into account for future interviews.
Stan - I agree with your comments about Amira but not with those about the interviewer. IMO Steve not only interviewed Amira well but tried to speak with the target audience in mind - school children. Sometimes he rephrased or summarized Amira's sharing, or emphasized some good points, to benefit his audience. I am puzzled by your observation about Steve not bringing out Amira. The entire 56 minutes demonstrated Amira's poise and just being herself, responding to numerous off-the-cuff questions and dealing with technical issues. Not sure what "humorous" and "creative" entertainment you were expecting from Amira, but Steve did nothing to stifle it. In addition to your other comments about Amira, she is also humble and not given in to flair for flair's sake. One other comment: I thought Steve was quite considerate by not interrupting or being condescending with Amira, unlike many other interviewers of young celebrities. If you've seen some of the interviews conducted with Grace VanderWaal, you'll know what I mean!
Steve, I have to agree that you overwhelmingly dominated this interview. Amira is so polite that she backed off and let you talk and talk and talk, even though I'm sure she had plenty to share. Please remember that you are conducting an interview to draw a person out and not to expound on your own suppositions and fantastical thinking. I found a lot of what you said very silly and annoying. I'm not trying to be mean, just honest.
Mary Yexley you are sure that Amira had plenty to share? Did you notice how many short answers ("yes") Amira gave? Imo he let her talk when she had something to say and he didn't interrupt her. I too don't think that everything he said we necessary but I liked how he was very positive and supportive towards her talent and actions and parents and picked up some kind of running gags (e.g. Willighagen Opera, the beverages in South Africa...) which made the interview funnier (for me), and created some context. And he did ask some "hot" questions which I like, namely -off the top of my head - about her singing prior to the competition (as Wikipedia states that she was in a choir and had had some elementary lessons) and if the jury knew about her singing skills beforehand. Anyway, thanks for the interview!
Mortimer, you may be right there (my dentist tells me that every time I visit him.) but then you also had to look upwards when you leave home because there could fall an aeroplane on your head. ;-)
Yes, I think Amira is a normal kid and immune to most germs as she has lots of pets in her family - a dog(singer!), cats, hens. land turtles and water turtles! She travels a lot and is also an active outdoor kid. I can understand Mortimer's fear, but I reckon Amira's throat is a tough relaxed cookie like herself!
The interviewer is really annoying. He talks aaaaaalllllll the time. I thought this was a interview with Amira. He asks a question and then he almost anwers it as well. I'd love to have heard what Amira had to say but just couldn't watch this video to the end due to the interviewer.
OMG... What is that creature babbling there? Embarrassing, really. I am citing: "And like most 9yos, a few years ago, she decided to enter a talent competition..." Honestly: How many 9yos you know are to enter a talent competition on TV? I now a lot of talented kids, but none of them actually did nor plan to do something like that. To be absolutely clear about that: Their parents would never allow. Irrespective of that I am asking myself how someone can be so stupid to ask a 13yo what drove her to that "decision" - at 9 yo! Brrrrr.. if I was her, I would just go into hiding until I'd be old enough to really make my own decisions.
As Amira explained in the documentary "documentary Omroep Gelderland Dec 2016 with English subtitles" she only was 7 years old when she first asked her parents to let her participate at "Holland's got Talent". Of course they told her that she still is too young. 2 years later they couldn't say "no" any more because Amira kept on begging her parents for letting her participate. By the way, my daughter was 7 years old when she decided to become a paramedic. Today she is 21, she does work as a paramedic and is planning to start a training as an assistant in an emergency rescue helicopter. Please note that there do exist children who know what they want!
I agree with ClassicBird that it was an odd statement that most 9 YOs decide to enter a talent show. But I agree with Sabine that Amira knew what she wanted to do early on and worked very hard on her singing for over 2 years prior to HGT. Her parents didn’t automatically let Amira enter HGT just because Amira “decided” she wanted to; they waited until they felt she was old enough. Her parents, and no one else, were in the position to make that judgement call. Life is often not “one size fits all”. Imagine if all kids were barred from talent competitions until they were “old enough” to make their own decisions (14, 16, 18, whatever). Amira (and other talents like her) and the world would be greatly deprived of the kind of enrichment that only a gifted and talented child like Amira could bring.
The big decisions to persist to finally achieve parental permission to participate on HGT and to change voice teachers in order to pursue her operatic goals indicate that Amira has known what she wants and has never gone nor will ever have to go into hiding. Some children like Amira (and Alma and Sabine's daughter et al.) can make their own decisions at a very young age.
A very charming young lady! Holland's Got Talent with Amira is now up tp 30 million viewers!
A charming, natural, engaging, down to earth, articulate young lady. Quite lovely on all counts.
Precisely so! So incredibly lovely.
And that's precisely what I was just thinking, faultless on every count. I would love to have a sneaky look at her back, to see if she really has wings.
God bless her. I do hope, should the world be so lucky, she lives a long, long life.
Had to revisit this interview. The best one fir sure with Amira. Lots of great questions answered
Me too
Steve Sherman - great job with the interview. It was clear you were conducting it from an educator's standpoint. We only get to hear a few interviews a year with Amira, so yours was very welcome and appreciated.
Thanks Ed. She is a special soul!
I thought most significant was Amira's saying, "I couldn't sing pop, only opera."
What a lovely young lady!!!! She has an unbelievable future ahead......
She is so cute! Her performance of Nella Fantasia is wonderful.
What a beautiful and talented soul. When she sings... she's channeling opera from the beyond. Much love to her. And what a great interview.
She is much better than the other girls who sing opera... her voice color is superior!
It is more interesting to listen to Amira than to hear the interviewer drone on ...
True dat
"for me it's like walking". no need to wonder why this is new young wonder of the world. great interview mr. sherman....what a beautiful young lady, in all ways...
When you are gifted like Amira and it just feels like walking... Can you imagine what would happen if she exerted herself !?
good point steve. again, you did a nice interview of her...
Amira is amazing, she recognizes her crystal clear pure voice comes from God. I listen to her often and am always moved by her beauty in every way.
Amen
I can not find the words to describe the feeling I have when I hear her sing, , she simply steals my entire vocabulary from my mind, , looking forward to hearing her for many years,. Thanks for the time You and Amira , put into this interview.
looking forward to meeting Amira tomorrow for the opening of her next playground
Steve Sherman she has a beautiful soul. Its so nice she's building playgrounds.
I'm impressed. Amira has had to learn English and other languages I've seen her interview. Plus her voice is beautiful. A masterpiece.
Most Europeans speak better English than Americans.
indescribable the beauty that comes from this special girl. Hers is my favorite voice ever, can't really place exactly why but it is different.
Cute. I watch her video twice a year at least. Just so special to see a little girl sing like that. She is completely charming.
Michael, thanks for your reply. So let's just sit back and enjoy the recent spate of fine young sopranos like Amira - no analysis needed!
I have to agree with you Michael, I never liked opera until I heard Amira!!!
I am fast becoming an Amira fan! I wish she would tour the U.S.
"Fast becoming"???, i became one at the drop of the hat the moment i heard her lol.
JAMES GERHARDSON ...... I could not agree more, James. She is an absolute treasure.
+Mr. Sjoerd: Are you already a member of our Facebook fan group? "Amira Willighagen:Fans"
Amen, Menheer!
I just love your voice and special person she is
And she likes 80’s music. The more I learn about her the more I like her. She has definitely piqued my interest in opera, which is a major hurdle for me as I know doodley about opera
Lovely young lady with a great voice and a huge heart.
Amira, you are a CHARMING, UNSPOILED person, and that, in combination with your talent, makes you fascinating!
Bravo. Amira
Steve enough already, that poor girl looks awfully tired, Amira eyes are closing. Please can you wait for this interview when she be able to do it. Can't you see how tired she is. Chicago lL.
She is so adorable, would you please to Philadelphia when possible. Love you
These are the countries where Amira has already performed (for you, Steve, in alphabetical order ;-)): Argentina, Austria, Belgium, China (Hong Kong), France, Germany, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, USA, Vatican City.
I love her, she is so smart and humble, a sweet and lovely girl
She graduated high school as Valedictorian.
Mr Sherman, Thanks for the terrific interview, you kept our little angel smiling most of the time with your humor, and me as well. Had not previously heard of you , but for what it's worth , you have a new fan, thank you sir.
HI Kay, thank you for your kind words. We have many exciting interviews lined up - visit livingmaths.com and you are welcome to watch our others if you visit livingmaths.com/videos This is not the last time that I will be connecting with Amira.... watch this space ;-)

this is the best interview of amira i seen, all the questions are good logical and amira garlling is like a baby dinosaurs
It's just great that this lovely, sweet girl is so phenomenally talented.
Great interview ! The interviewer is clearly a funny kind of guy and is entertaining to listen to. Amira, her family are great too. Very enjoyable interview ! Amira has an extraordinary talent and a warm personality !
I thought this interview was very interesting, but:
1) It was way too long.
And, it also effectively silences all those who claim that she must have had singing lessons prior to her HGT performance: from her honest and innocent answers, that was evidently not the case.
idling dove
In truth, a child's answers tend to be short and sweet, and in this sense the child interviewee needs prompting, which the interviewer did well. But I agree with you that the interview should have not became so long. Too much pressure on one so young.
THIS WAS THE BEST INTERVIEW EVER.THANK YOU STEVE
She is just a gift for humanity, she is god manifesting in a special way. All we are gods but she is a super godess who knows she knows how to sing, how to perform, how to smile, how to be intelligent, how to be gracefull and spontaneous, how to be patient to support this interviews, how to make the sentitive people cry just for her singing. Thanks god for her existence.
Brilliant interview with Amira..
Refreshing interview and great to watch :) Dont forget the bubble shake next time she visit SA ;)
She is back in SA in June but not in Cape Town.... so when she does come to CT I'll make sure she gets a treat

I have to disappoint you that she doesn't listen to grunge. ;-)
Thanks for the clarification that makes more sense. By the way Neil Young is not considered grunge. Music of early 90's such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam ect
Steve, when you tried to pronounce André Rieu`s last name (16:00) it exactly sounded as if you let out a burp! LOL
She is beautiful both inside and out. Such a caring smarty young lady. The best part is she has been able to maintain her childhood while doing her life’s passion.
She was not kidding about the Olympics. Missed them because of the plague.
i hope one day AMIRA KNOW or hear that there is a small country call EAST TIMOR.. AND WANT TO COME TO EAST TIMOR
Amira is blessed with and a heavenly gift but at the same she’s a hard working girl to improved her singing voice. She’s a miracle a gift for all who loved her.
Hello Steve, I think you knew in advance that this interview will probably get more views than all other interviews you made before. Clever!
Amira, jij bent geweldig! By the way, Steve Sherman, you did a great interview!
Thanks Sabine! Glad you enjoyed it. Loads more interviews coming up on Livingmaths.com
this is one of the best interview ever
What is shown here is a real-life angel
It's a technique that allows angels to do something that makes me smile and speak even words that are difficult to answer without words or words that are difficult to answer for a long time, and that don't embellish anything, fascinate, heal, and smile all while staying as it is
God, please protect our Amira
Thank you and be happy, thank you
Think the interviewer likes the sound of his own voice, and some of the questions seemed to perplex Amira. How can she explain her talent, it's second nature. She responded in a very competent manner though. Well handled.
She is indeed talented. English was not her first language at the time of the interview and the internet connection meant we had sound issues... We will be doing a follow up interview later this year and you will be pleased to know that Amira is now very well spoken and you will get to hear far less from me 😜
Excellent interview!
eXCELLENT iNTERVIEW!
Amira is Dutch, so you enter Holland got talent. Dat kan ik me ook nog herinneren, je ging een liedje zingen. Zo leuk.
When I went to Music school we were 9jrs and we went to Opera as well.
Wonderful Interview.
Amira it's time for a new album. Please record Ave Maria-Gomez... It might be time to shift gears and maybe spend more time in America...
Amira is going to record a new album in her summer holidays!
America? Don't make me laugh. America has no taste in music, Amira is to sophisticated for this country.Would not appreciate her music genre. Vile rap music is America's forte.
Amira anđeoskog glasa kojim zna izraziti najdublje emocije.

GRACIAS STEVE. SOY SEGUIDOR DE AMIRA DESDE QUE EMPEZÓ A LOS 9 AÑOS. LA PRIMERA VEZ QUE LA ESCUCHE LLORE COMO UN NIÑO PEQUEÑO.

talent girl, good job
Steve it is called "God Given Talent" sir.
Studying to be a lawyer or being a lawyer is time consuming (havig to keep up with all those laws etc). I wonder if then will be time left for opera.
She says she got the opera voice naturally and the interviewer does not get it. What a dork
es magico

She is a darling
This interviewer is much too over the top.
It seems to me that Amira is much smarter than Steve.
I would agree!
Noble concession, Steve. You are not alone; one person in two thousand(IMO) can outsmart Amira.

AMIRA, don't put your fingers on your lips ! GERMS so many germs...too easy to get a sore throat !
I told her not to kiss the turtles too !

This was poor. Some of the questions were stupid. Talked too much and answerd alot of the questions for her. This poor girl. WTF
it is the"Steve Sherman Show"........
