- Georgia has passed a law that brands NGOs and media companies that recieve over 20% of its funding from abroad as agents of Foreign Influence. Critics say the law symbolises Georgia's drift closer to Russia. The government pressed ahead with the law despite mass protest and opposition from the country's President.

This is not a Russian law. This type of law has been in the US since 1938.
What is wrong in declaring the source of your funds for your political and economic activities ?
Can you just walk into a bank and just deposit thousands or a million without being questioned of the source .

Even UK had the same experience & felt marginalised (Brexit), merely because a sea separated her from European mainland.
Remember, European countries (all small) wanted to get over with the traffic jam at the borders, with each country with laws, tariff, currency that are variance with others. As long as that purpose is served they don't turn to any other issue. Better to have a smooth & streamlined trade (& movement).
EU (European Union) should emulate IU (Indian Union, the official name); after all both are similar in many ways.
Europe can only be thought, partitioned as East & West Europe (East Europe is all Russia, on country).

The law seems to be a pro independent Georgia law, not a pro Russia law.
And all the EU clowns are speaking English instead of their native languages
This law itself is nothing to go against anyone but to protect the interests of the nation.
Having this law means nothing:
1) Georgia doesn’t have to be on Russia side because Russia has that law.
2) Having this law does not prohibit Georgia to be part of the EU/Nato.
Georgians need to be very cautious on both sides…

@@KSmifune As a PhD holder in History from the University of Adelaide, I have always wondered why the West perceives itself as superior to Russia. Russia did not initiate either World War, and it has not invaded as many countries as the West has. Moreover, Russia has not committed half the atrocities that the West has. So, I would like to understand why the West is so fearful of Russia. Since you know more history that we don’t know please throw some light because maybe am missing something.
