Great advice will👌wish you had kept it to yourself between you and ringer your giving all my best taktiks away I had teach myself out on the bank in them conditions
Hi Will, I bought one of your catapults a while ago, (a Tenner) & I've more maggots on my feet than in the water!! Any tips for using it correctly ? It's the one with the thru', adjustable elastic & tapered/cone pouch.
Hi it’s Brian here, I shot these videos with Will. I’ve done a lot of feeding maggots by catty myself over the years. Key is don’t overfill the pouch plus keep the pouch pointing upwards as you fill it. Then push the catapult frame out away from you in the direction you want to feed, until the elastic is fully stretched. Make sure the frame of the catty is higher than the pouch so that there is an incline in the stretched elastic from pouch to frame. With the elastic fully stretched let go of the pouch and the maggots will fire out to the swim in a tight group. It is always easier to fire out bait when the elastic is fully stretched. To achieve different distances too anglers carry several cattys with different strengths and lengths of elastic. Although this short clip is talking about groundbait catapults it is a similar principle: th-cam.com/users/shorts3zAi5IFjUwE?si=s1er8x_JqWhuABrI

Short range work in autumn as well as summer ?
@@gmak1n785 it should do as long as the weather is mild enough and the carp are still within range it works.
@@BrianGayAnglingImages thanks for the response, much appreciated 👍
When your fishing such a close range on the method do you not find the line coming up to the rod tip at such a steep angle a little strange? 🎣✨️
@@Northstar-Media it seems odd but you get used to it, in shallower swims it’s not such a steep angle.
Been doing this for years and I don't even fish matches. Really pisses off Al them sat with poles not catching owt 🤣🤣🤣
Even more salt in the wound when I've got the cheapest feeder rod about £40 with reel and they have £2000+ poles 😂 i do the same just to prove a point
I can well imagine but the best method is the one that works on the day eh?
The beauty of fishing it can be a great leveller!
