Excellent advice. Emma's a great angler. I especially agree about playing fish with the rod low. Unless you are forced to try to lift fish over/out of snags, It makes perfect sense. If you pull upwards, you are pulling the fish in the direction it least wants to go - out of the water - and it will pull back harder. I do a bit of fluff flinging as well as coarse angling and see fly anglers trying to play fish with the rod high in the air all the time. I've even been told to "get the rod up" when playing a fish. I don't, of course. They never seem to notice how few hook pulls or breakages I have compared to them.
