In Austria they have a single rail mountain coaster that is just gravity powered. The cars are collected at the bottom and a small flatbed hauls them up again. It is 4 times as long as this one.
They have this in Virginia at a resort and it’s for the summer and I absolutely love it. It’s a nice scenic ride up with the animals, and then it’s all downhill and around and fun! Love it.
I've ridden Runaway Mountain Coaster twice now, and I'll say... 1: In recent years, they've added audio cues to the lift hill (maintain distance, use little-to-no brakes, listen to that nature, etc) to make it less lonely. Still, I like the comments' idea of adding decor to the hill, such as various broken cars during Halloween. 2: Although they do place emphasis on having "a brakeless run", the downhill can feel almost too fast at times; you can brake a little. Don't ride your brakes, though- that's a way to make the person behind you hate you. 3: Between the displacement from the ground you have on the later parts of the track, the tilt of the track, and how there's only a small seatbelt to keep you in, it does feel a bit dangerous to go no-brakes fast.
I got to Branon almost every year. This is an incredibly fun kiddie ride. Don't hit the brakes and lean forward for the fastest speeds. It is actually a beautiful scenery ride going up the mountain.
My daughter and I have ridden on several of these in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, this one had a much longer climb time wise but the ride down looks about the same. They are so much fun.

I took my mom for a mountain coaster ride at Deep Creek Lake, in western Maryland. There was a woman in front of us that was freaking out and had to be coaxed down the mountain, brakes on the whole way down. They let us both go again, once we finally made it down behind the poor woman who didn't seem to enjoy her ride.

It prepares you with a gentle, scenic trip to the top and goes down at a decent speed but it doesn't look like it topped even 45 mph. I think the most it hit was around 40. Ha ha. I’ve never heard that last name until 3 weeks ago when I was in a singing/songwriting competition in Branson and one of the judges was Billy Yates. Lol
Howard Yates it looks to be on 165 down by fall creek. So from 76 hwy "Branson strip" turn at the stop light that is at the Titanic museum, you'll be turning and going the opposite direction away from Titanic, and go all the way down the hill by the creek and it will be on your right.
Looks like fun. Be interesting to ride it in the dead of night. In pitch darkness. Just a thought. Have a great weekend everyone
