- For the first time I made a siege cinematic with Bannerlord! Empire army against Battania! This is from my campaign and not a custom battle so as you may notice there are some things I can not change! Enjoy! :)

First siege cinematic! I know the flaming arrows are historically not accurate but I just wanted to use that mod to see the arrows. Don't forget to comment what you think and what you want to see for the next one! :) As I mentioned before there might be some stuttering problems and fps drops in the video but I hope it will be fixed. With mods and patches, this game will be even better for my future videos, I hope you enjoy this one, it was reaaally hard to record with +2.000 troops without fps loss and stuttering.

@@MDP1702 Yeah the LOTR mod already has a lot of the armors made, and the game of thrones mod already has the map pretty much made. I would give it a year or less for the first big overhaul to be pretty playable, but I am no expert.

@@gabem3251 Pro-tip, when attempting a protracted siege use mostly recruits/looters. When you try to out siege equipment them you will lose a lot of men at random. No point losing your good units. If they attempt to break your siege with an army that your tier 1s can't overcome, run away accepting the losses and earn tactics XP.

I really don't know what came over me, but I literally started to tear up, I think it was the music choice and the forces of the Empire marching en masse to the castle, the beauty was just too much. I've never felt this emotional over a M&B game, Taleworlds is doing something right with this new incarnation of the IP.
This is one epic siege battle! I felt emotion, the guys standing behind the door waiting to meet their death, I felt it, how scary it would have been to be there. You guys have a talent and it truely shows in your work. Keep up the amazing videos, I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

Analyzed the vid.
You know what? The most impressive part here is NOT the massive scale of the battle itself, but the emotions you capture. Choice of ingame music is perfect. At 5:00 the militia soldiers at the gate know they're damned and won't live to see another day once the ram makes way. Instead showing a massive battle of nameless soldiers, the vid shows us in great detail the inner fight of some of those guys. Duels instead of mass slaughter. Every battle comes down to countless individual fights between two men.
Great job here. And know what? That's what Peter Jackson did RIGHT in Lord of the Rings (showing details including low rank and file soldiers) and did utterly wrong in the Hobbit, which displayed the Battle of the Five Armies as a massive blobb of faceless soldiers ('cept the heroes and few Laketown soldiers).
Keep up the good work. :)
The part where the Battanians were watching the Imperial troops destroy the gate and knowing what fate awaits them was really powerful.

Because this looks way more polished than the game actually is in its current state. Also this is obviously very modded since the limit in the base game is 1000 troops
@@jawharz9759 This is actual gameplay from this guys game. Modded or not. It is still very much the game. So it wouldn't be false advertising. Plus games have always been able to release trailers that weren't "gameplay" Or if you play close attention it often says on the adds, "gameplay dramatization."
That little moment before the inner gate was breached was amazing! Such excellent sound design. Really added the defenders fear.
And some nice cheeky beheadings, well done on an excellent video. You should be proud of your effort.

I was no expecting to be sad watching this video, and that shot happened. The sudden change in music was a great choice
If it weren’t for the possibility of snowballing making them randomly OP in some playthroughs, Battania would be such a cool underdog faction. They’re like a bunch of farmers and peasants with rudimentary weapons and armor. Would be so fun to have a Battanian playthrough where I had to use guerrilla warfare and hit and run ambushes to free Battania from powerful Imperial invaders.

capt crunch still, the empire has the best units. Legionaries are the strongest sword/shield unit in te game

If Taleworlds can ever figure out how to make the battles bigger for those of us with PC's that can handle it Bannerlord will be the "Total War Killer" people have been looking for. Epic Real Time battles with an RTS camera along with First Person engagement in the fighting would make Taleworlds the King of Strat Gaming.

It was clear now that Caladog was not coming. He watched as the carnage unfolded. A group of Battanians ran by. One was wounded, blood spilling from his side. Tears filled his eyes as he watched a ruthless Imperial stab a groaning comrade. They were too much. Yield. Surrender. There was no hope. But then, in front of him he saw a heroic duo. A wounded man lay in the way of the Imperials. He was certainly doomed. However, his friend was trying to carry him, but obviously was slowing down.
Battanian Soldier: I'm not leaving you!
Wounded Soldier: Just go! I'm doomed! Save yourself!
Battanian Soldier: No, because I would rather die here, rather than live with the shame of abandoning a friend.
Wounded Soldier: *tearfully* It was an honour
Battanian Soldier: It was an honour. Can you stand?
Wounded Soldier: I think so...
Battanian Soldier: Good! *turning to the sky* We will meet again little brother. I remember the times we played, got into trouble, but then you died of the Plague, but now we will meet again...
Wounded Soldier: And I will see my dad again that died fighting in a battle....
*they are finally overrun*
Tobias of the Battanian Garrison felt angry. He charged, his scythe cutting many Imperials. He fough with many soldiers, but eventually a mace appeared from nowhere, and knocked him to the ground, dead. That day over he and his comrade's home, the Empire flag was hoisted. Everyone remembered when Garios hoisted the flag over the city. But nobody remembered the soldiers, trapped there, their dead bodies haunting the place they fell forever.
That...that was a master piece!!!!

I was so captivated by how The Emperor's fist marched in such relentless and undaunted and unbent and unstoppable fashion. Or how nothing was enough, not even the arrows were enough. Not even the oil was enough. Not even the stones were enough. Not even the gatehouse or the faulty morale of the arms??? inside was enough!

Buddy, do you know what "arm" means in English? It is a limb, but also a weapon. The morale of the Battanians was faltering. Thus, "faulty", "having or displaying weaknesses", which also applies to the rough and unrefined gear of the defenders. So what's your problem with that?
It is not about being realistic, although romans DID fight like lions among sheep. Cherry pick the first story, not mine, and if you go for this one, use valid criticism. Repetition is an important part of oral tradition and of poetry, so what's the problem with having that repeated?
The rain is pouring. The arrows are raining down, too, upon both sides. Repetitions mimick that. "Undaunted, unbent, unstoppable" is an alliteration, meant to evoke the very sound of the imperial troops marching.
Repeating how nothing is enough is getting into the mind of the Battanians, losing morale by the minute. It is a hypertextual reference to the previous story's "They were too much. Yield. Surrender. There was no hope."
You know? If you are going to be sarcastic, do it well, and attach some wise critique.

Besides that you seem to have a differing opinion than I do on exaggerated use of details. You can go on and say blah blah blah my ego is hurt so you're incorrect and I'm right. But spend some time watching and researching professional writers. They don't need insane intricacies on every couple sentences. Your story starts to sound like another 50 shades fanfic when you force details like that. Oh and also on a real note, who in the fuck is fighting to the death like wolf among sheep in real life. You mean the peasants and soldiers that worked and fought just to survive and eat. The real humans who had just as many weaknesses and you and I? Yes I guess a bit of fear mitigation comes from the well equipped men, but as a human marching into death I doubt it was on such a high level above the rest. And the first comment was more of a joke, about the Empire being "civilized" and the Battanians being "barbarians", and the first ... "story" being from the POV of the barbarians, and just as rough and unpolished in form as their settlements and weaponry are. EVEN THAT is a thing to look at, and how the second "story" is more orderly, with echoes, with alliterations, mimicking the march of the imperials, too. I think you completely misunderstood me. I wasn't criticizing the first comment, per se. I was portraying an imperial rejecting the barbarian culture. The "story" is actually quite entertaining to read.
Professional writers suck. Now, go search Tolkien, or Eliot, ot Milton, or Donne, or Shakespeare, or Chaucer, or Langland, just to name a few, and just to name them in English.
Take a look at "Luceafarul", the best piece of Romanian poetry (it means "morning star", not "Lucifer", although the Vesper/Hesper is associated, in Christian mythos, both to the Fallen, and the Son).
Now, I am not too fond of Poe's poetry, he's not the best, but his most famous poem, "The Raven", is full of repetitions. Whom I DO love and like, is P.B. Shelley. Read his "A Lament", and tell me, is THAT unnecessary repetition?

Read about the battle of Stamford Bridge, where a single man held the bridge against hundreds, until he was pierced by a lance from underneath. Read about Spanish duellists and bodyguards bearing "montantes" (basically zweihänders), and holding the breaches in the walls on their own, or fighting against, and even defeating, several assailants on their own. You ask "who fights like a wolf among sheep?" And I answer with Sun Tzu's "throw your soldiers into position once there is no escape, and they will prefer death to flight". What do you think King Leonidas' personal guard did at Thermopylae? What do you think Bohemond of Taranto did at the siege of Antioch? Read some accounts of Belisarius' conquests, with Byzantine troops marching with arrow shafts and tips stuck in their very faces.
