I waited in a long line to vote early for Harris/Walz and a straight blue ticket in red Long Island. Trump hats and red shirts all around. I felt like I was in a red state rather than blue. My vote counts though, and I chuckled on the way home thinking Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the majority of NY is blue.
I'm sure a lot of blue hats didn't want to risk their lives advertising the fact, in a situation where people might be "defending" the ballot boxes from crazy stuff they imagined in their heads.

Why haven't the media asked Tom about specific voter registration RAW numbers (not a percentage) for different demographics and party affiliation for each battleground state? That should give us a good idea of the delta or margin for the winner assuming it's a tied race based on the polls which don't account for new voters. A German here. To all who have already voted: Do you always get a confirmation that your vote was counted, no matter how you vote? Just wondering, because here, we don't. I mail in my ballots but never hear back from them and can only hope my letter actually arrived...
I can only speak for my State (each State is in charge of their own elections and do things differently from the others), but every ballot, whether mail-in, absentee or vote-in-person, has a “ballot stub” with matching numbers to the ballot. After you vote, you rip off the stub and keep it so that you can confirm later if your ballot’s number was counted. You do this through the voter registration office online or by phone. Or if there is an audit, the officials can use those numbers too.
In my state we do, I get a text message stating my ballot had been recieived and tabulated. I assume there are other states that do something similar but I don't know which ones.

Previous election polls have been several points low on Trump. They are giving him 3 to 4 points to make up for it. They are also estimating Kamala 3 or 4 points low after the Clinton debacle. The difference is 6 to 8 points favoring Harris victory minimum. Watch

Why haven't the media asked Tom about specific voter registration RAW numbers (not a percentage) for different demographics and party affiliation for each battleground state? That should give us a good idea of the delta or margin for the winner assuming it's a tied race based on the polls which don't account for new voters. A German here. To all who have already voted: Do you always get a confirmation that your vote was counted, no matter how you vote? Just wondering, because here, we don't. I mail in my ballots but never hear back from them and can only hope my letter actually arrived...
It's not automatic. You have to sign up.
I can only speak for my State (each State is in charge of their own elections and do things differently from the others), but every ballot, whether mail-in, absentee or vote-in-person, has a “ballot stub” with matching numbers to the ballot. After you vote, you rip off the stub and keep it so that you can confirm later if your ballot’s number was counted. You do this through the voter registration office online or by phone. Or if there is an audit, the officials can use those numbers too.

they call you. i've been called by one obviously right-wing pollster, in the midterms a couple years ago. they'd read off some flagrant propaganda lines designed to make the republican candidate look like captain america and the democrat look like satan incarnate and ask me if each statement made me more or less likely to vote for that candidate. there were no negative statements about the republican and no positive ones about the democrat. i told them that every single statement about the republican made me much less likely to vote for him and every one about the democrat made me much more likely to vote for her.
