Right?! He started his video by saying Gen rushing and then said invocation. You could literally do 2 gens in the time it takes to use this hideous perk.
Partially true. I break down the math in my full video but it does10 seconds to every generator which is 70 seconds of progress on the generators but only 50 seconds of progress on the generators you are trying to complete, but it’s hard to put an time on the amount of time it would take to run around and do 10 seconds of work on each generator. Or it’s hard to put a value on the pressure you put on the killer by giving every generator less charges. But 120 seconds for an invocation is a long time
i mean if you can teleport and apply permanent pressure to all the gens it would be better alternatively you can just have your friend bring the invocation as well and then its actually mathematically better not just realistically better and even quicker invocation aswell
@@SthLoopStraz You're also not taking into account the amount of time you can waste having an extra health state. The perk is mathematically horrible. 10 charges on 5 generators is 50 charges gens take 90 charges to complete aka u are spending 120 seconds to only do a lil more then half of a single gen. Time is better spent on gens. as u can legit just sit on an entire gen for 90 seconds (Not running around between gens since u can just be on the one gen) and u already did SO much more then invocation weaving spiders. I love stakeout, sometimes that extra progress can save the game. It's saved me, fun to do with deadline and double suture medkit to heal in usually 5 seconds
@@SthLoopStraz my build is Strength in shadows Off the record Deliverance Spring burst And I don’t understand why everyone is hating, this is a fire build!!
my gen rush build is deja vu, stakeout, hyperfocus, resilience. paired with a maxed out toolbox, you can fly through. prove thyself and built to last are also strong perks you can use in place of resilience depending on the overall vibe of the play session
My build: hyper focus, built to last, stake out, + any perk e.g. Fogwise for reading aura and you will avoid the coming killer, resilence for 9% or Streetwise. Without forgetting about green toolbox with max charges.
Here's an option for a FREE version without having to spend money on licensed characters or leave up to RNG in the shrine to get the perks from: - Streetwise - Deja Vu - Scavenger - Potential Energy The last two perks can be gotten from unlocking two characters using iridescent shards instead of having to purchase two licensed characters. The reason I put scavenger is because of using a great tool box to speed up the process of repairing, and then after it's depleted, you can just hit skill checks to refill it, so you never have to stop repairing the gen. Potential Energy is kind of a niche choice, but I like to use it for "emergency" situations by stocking up on tokens first, and then holding onto them until I see the killer running at me repairing the gen. I then pop the tokens, make instant progress, and book it out of there.
Commodious Toolbox w/Built To Last, Streetwise, Stakeout and Hyperfocus. For more ease of use, drop Stakeout and Hyperfocus for Overzealous and Resilience
Here's a gen build I use, try invocation of weaving spiders, deja vu, resilience, and no mither. Itself definitely a slow start but it pays well, this build with a 4 stack is amazing for gen aggression
This is terrible, the invocation is mathematically always a time waste, but if you use it still, using resilience is almost mandetory. Hyperfocused is good, but wasting another perkslot for it makes it inefficient again.
My personal generation build is: fast track, resilience, invocation weaving spiders, and then potential energy, and then you add a toolbox and some add-ons and you’re all good
This perk can reduce generator progess up to 50% (100% progress of generator takes around 80 seconds) so 50% would be around 40 seconds while invocation takes up to 120 seconds and I don’t think it can take only 40 seconds even if you did it with 3 friends (For a briefly calculation it would be around 48 seconds). However, one of you will get get broken which considerably lessens chase time for that survivor, making killer ends the chase by downing you quicker and we also neglected the fact that killer might walk into basement. So right now this perk is real useless. There is no benefit to use it after all.
This actually seems somewhat viable now with the buff that the invocation only takes 60 seconds. I'd replace stake out with Resilience that way you get additional repair speed, on top of easier skill checks.
Bruh who let this man cook? Just run Built to Last & Streetwise with a good toolbox. Trust me anybody who's new you'll thank me, his build is beyond counterable. Might as well just throw the game if you unironically plan on running his build.
If you’re on PC or even just able to consistently hit great skill checks Scavenger is a better perk than BTL, yes it does come with a slowdown when it procs, but it gives you a full toolbox instead of diminishing returns
a much better build if you still want to use invocation would be: invocation resilience hyperfocus stake out / off the record (choose either pure genrush or survivability)
Or use a better perk build using: Invocation weaving spiders, resilience, stake out, and hyperfocus. That would actually be good. However, I don’t use all-gen perks. I just use stake out, hyperfocus, bite the bullet, and lithe as it’s a balance of generators/looping build.
@SthLoopStraz im moreso hating on the game than anything else ... I just don't understand how changing up such minor things can make repeating the same task every game fun ... this game has so much diversity when it comes to killers for a game that has one single thing for survivors to do.. needs to be like devour where every map is a dif task
@@ericwtfsky as someone who played dbd there’s a lot more to the game than gens for example looping killers healing teammates and creating/ destroying boons. dbd is one of the games where the fun relies on the players and since you’ll be playing different killers and people the gameplay loop with always be somewhat fresh
@@ericwtfsky I feel you man. Take a little break if it isn't fun. When TCM dropped I thought it was super cool all the tasks you had to do but I also got tired with that real fast. i get what you're saying but TINH perk could be replaced for Built to last. then you can pair that up with a Toolbox with duration add-ons. or even resilience because it gets value all game when you're broken after the invocation.
With Lara Croft released, she has a perk that does what invocation does but rather than wasting time on a thing then getting broken, you waste time on a thing that might give you a toolbox. Specialist I think it’s called
Personally, I use: -Streetwise -Hyperfocus -Stake out -Scavenger This build, matched with a good toolbox I find insane if you focus in with great skill checks/get some stake out tokens
Swap out the Invo for De Ja Vue. Helps prevent 3 gen and don't have to be injured the whole game for it. Might only be 6%, but still better than being a health state down constantly.
NGL I did this last night with a modified "Discount" variant. Instead of hyperfocus and stake out I had deja vu and kindred. It worked 3/5 times, 4 of which had me succeed in the invocation but 1 of them we died due to good killer play after 3 gen.
Deja Vu, Built to last, Prove thyself, streetwise (Or Hyperfocus), paired with a tool box (I like the 32 charge one), if you want to live, remove one perk and exchange for Kindred or another perk of your choice that keeps eyes on the killer like Fogwise. If you're prone to injury, swap one perk with Resilience. If you want to screw with the killer, swap a perk of choice for blast mine. Just what works for me. 🤷♀️
The point of invocation is to perma lower the time it takes a surv to repair any gen by 11.11% (10 charges of 90) Its not ideal for gen rushing! its best used for gen harass. Mostly helpful for breaking 3gens. It forces killers to aim for shorter chases because a surv poking at gens is more effective. Paired with a missing part addon or laras chest perk to further reduce max time on gen you can more easily do gens safely between killer patrol checks.
I understand the point of these are to just make a maybe viable build using any of the new perks, but just off the top of my head: IWS, No Mither, Iron Will, Resilience. You're already taking the downside of NM so you just take tve increased stealth and functional immunity to slugging (although in the way that youll just get hooked instead). IW to finish off the grunts of pain, so you are silent and leave no blood. Resi to give you the gen repair speed. Additional improvements over this: no paid DLC, you only need to prestige the free David and Jake instead of paying for Tapp and Rebecca. You maximize strengths from your weaknesses instead of counteracting your strengths with eachother (as TINH's entire value is replaced by Stakeout)
Invocation: weaving spiders Resiliance Deja vu Iron will Perma-insta down, but you do gens in 68 seconds, sooo... (Ps, i use this build regularly, its pretty fun)
I would change Weaving Spiders for Deja Vu. The best perk against the three-gen endgame, and 6% bonus repair aint bad too. Technician is another good option.
I just use invocation for fun. and now specialist is coming out soon i could get more value technically so yeah. I feel like this build is only actually good if every teammate uses brand new part as well and also bringing specialist.
For me I’d use weaving spiders with resilient for the permanent boost to many stats whiles injured combined with dead hard for some extra survivability and iron will of all things cause your so noisy when injured and will be exhausted less with dead hard.
The biggest mistakes survivors make is burning a basement offering with the invocation. I just wander to the basement after a little while and they are ALWAYS sitting there like idiots.

Stake out is Detective Tapp's and you can actually bring that one. As long as you stay in killer's terror radius, you hit skill checks better with extra progress.
@@Ineedabigboi1771or just let them play the game the way they want to
I run something close to this and it works..but invocation is such a pain.
Invocation, resilience, deja vu and built to last along with a bad ass toolbox and youre good to go.
Yeah that seems like a fire build also
I had two people try and get that going against me. Two free kills before a gen was done lol
I love stakeout, sometimes that extra progress can save the game. It's saved me, fun to do with deadline and double suture medkit to heal in usually 5 seconds
Stake out a great perk. It always comes through in the clutch
But you could also use resilience for that extra boost!!
Yup either works. It’s really just a preference. I experimented with that a fair bit as well
@@SthLoopStraz my build is
Strength in shadows
Off the record
Deliverance
Spring burst
And I don’t understand why everyone is hating, this is a fire build!!
@@WRSHalloween well looks to me like a self unhook / anti tunnel build
my gen rush build is deja vu, stakeout, hyperfocus, resilience. paired with a maxed out toolbox, you can fly through. prove thyself and built to last are also strong perks you can use in place of resilience depending on the overall vibe of the play session
Proceeds to get tunneled with no anti tunnel
Ds ?! Also why should there be an anti tunnel ? If a survivor can gen rush then a killer can tunnel 😂😅
Gen rushing doesn't account for an anti tunnel anyway lol
@@PintOfMintand this suck as a gen rush XD
Tunnel?
As someone who has 15 hours on dbd, even i wouldn't fall for this one
This man is trying so hard to make weaving spiders good at all lol.
My build: hyper focus, built to last, stake out, + any perk e.g. Fogwise for reading aura and you will avoid the coming killer, resilence for 9% or Streetwise. Without forgetting about green toolbox with max charges.
Here's an option for a FREE version without having to spend money on licensed characters or leave up to RNG in the shrine to get the perks from:
- Streetwise
- Deja Vu
- Scavenger
- Potential Energy
The last two perks can be gotten from unlocking two characters using iridescent shards instead of having to purchase two licensed characters. I then pop the tokens, make instant progress, and book it out of there.
good strategy bro
Commodious Toolbox w/Built To Last, Streetwise, Stakeout and Hyperfocus. For more ease of use, drop Stakeout and Hyperfocus for Overzealous and Resilience
I do not like weaving spiders, feel like the broken and time is not worth it
Yeah it made me feel a bit useless in a match but I did feel like I was shredding generators
@@SthLoopStraz Why not run No Mither, Resilience and Deja Vu. No pools of blood, 75% reduce grunts, 15% increased gen speed
@@portcomet18 Thats an option also. I experimented with resilience and deja vu but I liked this build the best.
Here's a gen build I use, try invocation of weaving spiders, deja vu, resilience, and no mither. Itself definitely a slow start but it pays well, this build with a 4 stack is amazing for gen aggression
Yes, sure, mister Blight in disguise, haha.
This is terrible, the invocation is mathematically always a time waste, but if you use it still, using resilience is almost mandetory. Hyperfocused is good, but wasting another perkslot for it makes it inefficient again.
Why not no mither too?lol
Resilience is much better option than TINH. You need it for escaping a situation anyway, due to the 9% vaulting/unhooking speed.
Anytime i see a teamate using invocation, i always fast enter the basment lockers😂
Technician+hyperfocus+fog wise and aim for the perfect skill check yourself without having to be in killer's radius(stakeout)
Nah. You gotta bring self-care to get rid of the broken status effect
Self care is mid
@@SthLoopStraz I know, but it’s needed in this build
@@SthLoopStrazbro wdym, self care goes crazy
My personal generation build is: fast track, resilience, invocation weaving spiders, and then potential energy, and then you add a toolbox and some add-ons and you’re all good
Invocation is just a perks for killer at thdi point, not worth at all, a nightmare for solo Q
Use streetwise. Don’t use invocation.
This actually seems somewhat viable now with the buff that the invocation only takes 60 seconds. I'd replace stake out with Resilience that way you get additional repair speed, on top of easier skill checks.
Ash tier strats
The sheer amount of times that ive grabbed people off invocation is actually insane. Especially since i play Legion not a stealth killer.
Yeah if you don’t have teammates help you out and/or distracting the killer
If they're invoking they will commit and not get up
@@PintOfMint The fact that it takes so damn long to stand up from invocation is funny to me. I've gotten so many downs from healthy because of it.
@@Dystopian_k1ng yeah that's part of why they commit. Not worth getting off
Bruh who let this man cook? Just run Built to Last & Streetwise with a good toolbox. Trust me anybody who's new you'll thank me, his build is beyond counterable. Might as well just throw the game if you unironically plan on running his build.
If you’re on PC or even just able to consistently hit great skill checks Scavenger is a better perk than BTL, yes it does come with a slowdown when it procs, but it gives you a full toolbox instead of diminishing returns
a much better build if you still want to use invocation would be:
invocation
resilience
hyperfocus
stake out / off the record (choose either pure genrush or survivability)
please stop promoting this perk its garbage and because of you all guys people start using it and wasting time in game please stop this...
Well it's way fester now
Or use a better perk build using: Invocation weaving spiders, resilience, stake out, and hyperfocus. That would actually be good. However, I don’t use all-gen perks. I just use stake out, hyperfocus, bite the bullet, and lithe as it’s a balance of generators/looping build.
But I never used the invocation perk. Just seemed like a waste of a time, me personally
wow gotta min max on a game where u literally have 1 task fun game
Hey if there is a way to do things faster, people are going do it. I like playing all different styles as survivor. Keep it fresh.
@@im_javii but you're healing them so they can... fix generators lol
@@ericwtfsky I feel you man. Take a little break if it isn't fun. When TCM dropped I thought it was super cool all the tasks you had to do but I also got tired with that real fast. I try random builds as survivor and I have fun with it but if its boring switch it up a bit. Or try finding a build you enjoy
Best build to give your teammates aneurysms when they see you not on gena for like 2 minutes
brother, invocation is a meme.... no way you actually want touse it
Invocation is a metal perk brother 🤘🏻. Yeah it’s kinda a meme but it’s fun even solo gen rushing with this build
@@SthLoopStraz You arent gen "rushing" with this perk you are doing gens slower. This is a killer perk. You really shouldnt be trying to spread misinformation, we dont need more random people in solo queue throwing games trying to use this perk.
The 3 territorial instinct users are drooling over the Sable perk
i get what you're saying but TINH perk could be replaced for Built to last. then you can pair that up with a Toolbox with duration add-ons. or even resilience because it gets value all game when you're broken after the invocation.
With Lara Croft released, she has a perk that does what invocation does but rather than wasting time on a thing then getting broken, you waste time on a thing that might give you a toolbox. Specialist I think it’s called
Personally, I use:
-Streetwise
-Hyperfocus
-Stake out
-Scavenger
This build, matched with a good toolbox I find insane if you focus in with great skill checks/get some stake out tokens
Build to last , is 10x much better than streetwise!
I frequently have been using steakout, dejavu, hyperfocus and either shadow step, delivi, fogwise, or your prefered exuastion perk
Yeah that seems just as solid! Probably more well rounded
The invocation perk looks so cool and the execution is badass
Swap out the Invo for De Ja Vue. Helps prevent 3 gen and don't have to be injured the whole game for it. Might only be 6%, but still better than being a health state down constantly.
The final piece is that the friend should bring prove thyself
for those who think that they can hit most hyperfocus skillshecks, throw in Deadline instead of Stake out for more skillshecks=more progress.
NGL I did this last night with a modified "Discount" variant. Instead of hyperfocus and stake out I had deja vu and kindred. It worked 3/5 times, 4 of which had me succeed in the invocation but 1 of them we died due to good killer play after 3 gen.
Only thing I would change is "This is not happening" If your good at skill checks its not needed. So "Resilience" would be better for the 9%
Today I improvised a build for gen rushing, I used Déjà Vu,
Stake out,
Prove thyself,
Resilience or
Streetwise
"just have a friend".. i did not expect to get assaulted like that :(
Deja Vu, Built to last, Prove thyself, streetwise (Or Hyperfocus), paired with a tool box (I like the 32 charge one), if you want to live, remove one perk and exchange for Kindred or another perk of your choice that keeps eyes on the killer like Fogwise. If you're prone to injury, swap one perk with Resilience. If you want to screw with the killer, swap a perk of choice for blast mine. Just what works for me. 🤷♀️
Side note, but what's the song near when you bring up Hypercocus. Sounds like Animal Crossing and I dig it.
We NOT getting out of the basement with this one
Scavenger would be a better perk to add than invocation. It compliments all the other perks and refills a beefy toolbox infinite times
As a blight one trick I greatly recommend this build to all survivors in my trials
Ive been running; built to last, deja vu, hyperfocus, and stakeout with a toolbox and charge add-ons... 👍🏼👍🏼
Just so you know, I’ll be running noed, No way out, Undying, and Grim Embrace 😊
The Best Build Is Stake out hyper-focus fast track and Bardic inspiration
Bruh, I was just playing this build before I seen this short...sweeeeeet !!🎉
The point of invocation is to perma lower the time it takes a surv to repair any gen by 11.11% (10 charges of 90)
Its not ideal for gen rushing! its best used for gen harass. Mostly helpful for breaking 3gens.
It forces killers to aim for shorter chases because a surv poking at gens is more effective.
Paired with a missing part addon or laras chest perk to further reduce max time on gen you can more easily do gens safely between killer patrol checks.
Dejavu, resilience, and overzealous: am I a joke to you?
Just wondering how many hours do you have?
No matter what the answer is, giving "advice" like this should relegate you to the "sub 50 hour noob" tier
Invocation: weaving spiders
Resiliance
Deja vu
Iron will
Perma-insta down, but you do gens in 68 seconds, sooo...
(Ps, i use this build regularly, its pretty fun)
I don't why or how but this has been the best build ever i have escaped twice from it now i dont want to overhype it but it's great for me!
Instructions unclear, just got tunneled out of the game 7 games in a row, thanks youtube dbd guy.
Brand New Part looks really shiny to use
Ahaha that’s where I’m at. Just want to do something different
Make sure to bring a brand new part aswell🤭
The biggest mistakes survivors make is burning a basement offering with the invocation. I just wander to the basement after a little while and they are ALWAYS sitting there like idiots.
I mean.... A free kill Is a free kill
