If you store the mini 1 in the flymore bag you can warp the rear props if you don't carefully position them to not sit on the "hump". Warped props will still work but the motors will need to compensate for the lost lift with higher RPM. If you are seeing the max motor speed warning and it is not windy your props are probably the culprit.
I was about to say the same also at the end when it’s beeping one of the motors will be moving back and forwards this is the problem motor as it’s trying to tell you what one has a problem.
Glad to see Litchi stepping in to fill the holes that DJI has left in their product line. Sadly, it seems that DJI has completely dropped and abandoned true Waypoint functionality in all of their newer drones. FWIW, Litichi is awesome to work with...they actually respond to inquiries in a timely way and provide in depth responses...and that's sooooo refreshing. I just wish that DJI would give them a proper Waypoints API like they used to provide on all of their drones rather than the new janky "Virtual Sticks" API that DJI is offering now in their SDK...but I guess it's better than nothing. The "Virtual Sticks" API is THE reason that Litchi (or any other waypoints vendor) can't offer the capability for missions to complete when the drone is out of range.
Henrik, In Video "Mavic Mini Waypoints (litchi).28 May 2021. The update sheet at the start says :- added waypoint mode for Mavic Mini 1 and Mavic AIR 2. (and not Mini 2 as you say) Now I have Litchi and my smart controller for my Mini 2 and Air 2. The weather is to bad, very strong winds so its not a good time to go experimenting. PS. The Air 2 seams to be OK in the house so far.
Hey, just watching this for the first time, Litchi app has changed dramatically, there is no "Auto stitch panorama" anymore. Maybe consider doing a new video with the updated app.
The description of the Litchi app in the Google Play store says "Waypoint mode (support for Mavic Mini 1 coming soon)" , but your video title says this is for Mavic Mini. Does that mean the video title is wrong, or the Litchi app description is wrong?
Hej Henrik.
Is it possible to ask you demostrate the Litchi app at an area with some hills around? How the altitude is calculated? Scenario: Hicking up the hill, I want the Mavic Mini to follow waypoints at diffrent altitudes, and a few POI including a part of the hike (an estimation of the segment where 1 POI will be set during the hike) also other POI away from the hike path overlooking other hills. In short, is the altitude related to the take off coordinates or it is reading the altitude terrain from the drone sensor where the hills will be immediately below the drone? Thank you. Also an idea for Litchi, maybe we can fly the drone and save waypoints from drone readings, then, using those waypoints create a mission then let it do the job.
I have been using the Litchi app for a month or so now with my Mavic mini and I have renamed it Glitchi as it does seem to disconnect from the drone regularly. Sometimes the drone behaves strangely in focus mode if it loses track it seems to twitch around wildly trying to find track again, you have to go back into fpv mode to regain control. But still when the functions work it is worth it, looking forward to the waypoint update from the beta to the regular app.
Make sure you tweet at DJI or email support to request Waypoint functionality...It appears that DJI has completely dropped Waypoint functionality from all of their newer consumer/prosumer drones...the only chance to get Waypoints back into their products is to request the functionality.
Hello! Really like your videos. I'm from Finland and its nice to have someone in EU who does tutorials. I have been flying my mavic mini for a year now and want to upgrade. What would you choose, air 2S fly more combo or mavic air 2 fly more combo + smart controller? They are at the moment for the same price so i have hard time to choos between them😅. And thanks again for good videos! 😊
Hello, I would really appreciate your opinion on the value of the smart controller when im trying to decide between the mavic air 2 + smart controller and air 2s with the standard controller. Thanks! 😊
Thanks for the vid. I was excited after watching the vid and got my mini to fly the mission. It was great. Just that the app says it's not support because of the SDK today when I tried again. Not sure what happened. Please help clarify this. Ta
Hello Henrik, always informative as usual. Couple of questions: 1) Do you know if the DJI app can or will be able to record videos on waypoints missions like Litchi does, instead of doing only Hyperlapse missions as of today? 2) Do you know if this Litchi app works well with the AIR2S? 3) Do you know if the Litchi app is (or will be) available in FCC mode (like the DJI app with drone tweaks) in order to boost the power of the controller? Thank you again to let us know always practical informations
Really good to actually see the mini back in the air if its like.me mini just sits in the cupboard after the mini 2 but I can't sell it because the quality of the 2.7k is so good think we all need to blow the cobwebs of and all get them flying again 😁 nice one my friend
Max motor speed, isn’t that the prop is deformed error and the fix is to replace props? The case for Mini 1 presses the props flat if not perfectly placed in case.
I used to use litchi with my P3S, and could set missions that took it out of transmitter range, what happens if the mini 1 looses connection with the RC will it continue on the mission or RTH
hi i have a Mavic mini drone but when i try do waypoints missions it gives me an error this feature is not supported in the sdk(code:-1000) do you know why that is?
Unfortunately not....Just to be clear this is a limitation of DJI's SDK. DJI used to provide a proper SDK that would allow all the Waypoints to be uploaded to the drone...so if the drone went out of RC signal range the drone would be able to complete the mission if that is what you wanted it to do...However, DJI's new crippled "Virtual Sticks" SDK API doesn't allow all waypoints to be uploaded in advance of the mission..with the Virtual Sticks API all control information is uploaded in real time to the drone as the Mission executes...thus a connection must be maintained with the drone throughout the mission. It's pretty clear that DJI has walked away from Waypoints and now they aren't even delivering a proper API to allow third parties to implement full functional Waypoints...and that is why DJI will NOT be getting any of my business on a go forward basis.
@@jetmartin9501 Oh wow, so to be clear, if the mission runs far enough that RC connection is dropped, drone will not continue mission and will just return home (or whatever the default is)?
@@YouMotorcycle Yep..this is a limitation of DJI. Rather than providing a proper API (like they used to provide) this API only allows 3rd party app developers to send one waypoint at a time (it's a virtual sticks API) vs allowing all waypoints to be uploaded to the drone. The result is that anytime there is a lost signal it returns home rather than continuing the mission as it should because it doesn't have the next waypoint to fly to. FYI. The built in Waypoints mission software on the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro allows you to continue the mission despite losing RC connectivity. So it operates as a proper Waypoints mission should. This is another win for Hubsan ZMP over DJI. Hell DJI doesn't even offer Waypoints on any of their new drones. And for that reason I'll be purchasing the Hubsan ZMP. DJI has completely abandoned Waypoints capability and now they don't even provide a decent API for 3rd parties to use so that they can offer full featured waypoints. So long DJI. SMH.
@@jetmartin9501 This is a really detailed message and I appreciate it a lot, thank you. I'm still getting started with drones so I bought a second hand Mavic Mini combo, but when I'm ready to sell my first drone and move on to something at a higher pricepoint/quality level I'll consider the Hubsan options now that I know they have more advanced like this, thanks!
