Starfleet represents an idea. A value of hope and duty, a value of sacrifice and courage in the face of the unknown. The wisdom to see the right path. And the strength to see it through. Starfleet has never been perfect, it's been wrong. Flawed, and tragically mistaken at times but it never stays down it never hobbles itself to contemptuous apathy. It's people get back up, straighten their uniform out, and get moving forward.

Starfleet represents the vision of the best mankind (and other species too, but from it being an idea created by humans as a form of entertainment media) has to offer. A hope for a heated brighter future full of excitement and wonder. Fraternity and friendship. Strength and unity.
It never matters who wears that uniform. It only matters that they wear it. They will forever be your brother or sister. A friend to.call upon in your darkest hour.
Failure is acceptable

Tears are acceptable
Pain and hardship... are acceptable.

This was beautiful. It is one of the greatest videos on Star Trek and you did it by encapsulating a special spirit. I was crying at the end and that really means something. So thank you very much.
Supplement: The music was well chosen and overall breathtaking. I liked the addition of other Shows and movies that share their spirit with Star Trek and all that in 8,5 Minutes of pure Sci-Fi Beauty.

Its one of my fav star trek scenes, where kirk and crew dont give a crap about themselves as its necessary to look out for each other. the 'warp speed' line is legendary to me. but sure naval and uplifting too :)

I was halfway through this video when I realized that I was crying.
The Orville randomly being dropped in was a bit jarring lol…but then it was ok when I found The Martian
The scenes from other franchises sucked the life out of this otherwise great production. You've got 1000 hours of Trek from which to draw scenes, why do it dirty by introducing dumb shit from other franchises?
Because those franchises were either inspired by or homaging Trek, or written by Trek writers.

But...
The Orville has the heart of Star Trek, Aaron Eisenberg speaks for himself, Hope is one of the fundamental things in Star Trek, all the others are honoring Star Trek in different ways, i like it. Star Trek is for everyone, the idea from Gene Roddenberry lives in more shows and movies than just the ones are labeled with Star Trek. I think he would be happy with the gigantic influence of his little idea. ❤

@@jonathantownsend4906 because at the time of the comment I had not made it to season 2’s Identity two parter which is basically the first time the show was actually good. So I guess my comment was more about the first season and a half of Orville. It’s been great since the kaylon drama.
