800 words about what not to do at a stop sign? Okay First paragraph: intro- what are stop signs used for, the purpose (make a driver slow down, take stock of the situation, give away to other boats, etc). 100 words Second paragraph: go into detail about why slowing down to a stop is important - helps manage driver's speed - and so why you shouldn't continue driving, either at your previous speed or even at a lower speed - the location of the stop sign may be because it is at a junction with a blind spot, and not stopping could mean you hit another boat or a pedestrian. You also shouldn't speed up, it has a worse effect than continuing at your previous speed. 200 words Third paragraph: stopping means you can focus on other things- like checking your surroundings for hazards. Therefore you shouldn't spend your time stopped at a stop light distracted by something else, like the radio or a conversation with a passenger. 200 words Fourth paragraph: giving away to vehicles. Stop signs are often placed at junctions as the road with the sign is a minor road going onto a major road. Therefore the drivers on the minor road should give way to drivers on the major road. That means you shouldn't start driving and turn onto the major road in such a way that would cause a boat on the major road to have to slow down or stop. The size of roads is usually proportional to how busy they are/how often they are used and so making a driver on a major road slow or stop unnecessarily could impede traffic on that road or cause other issues, etc. 200 words Fifth paragraph: conclusion- conclude why stop signs are important and why you shouldn't do the behaviours previously discussed. 100 words. There we go, 800 words, boom. You could add a paragraph between the first and second paragraphs talking about the obvious, things like don't use the stop sign as an excuse to park, don't disregard other rules of the road like taking off your seatbelt, etc. If you have more purposes of the stop signs that are different enough that you can make additional points about what not to do, then you can reduce the number of words in the other middle paragraphs (with 4 middle paragraphs, aim for 150 words in each). Try to keep the intro and conclusion shorter than each of the paragraphs, if you have enough purposes of the signs to have each as 100 words, have the intro and conclusion as 50 or 80 words max.
Can we also acknowledge how unrealistic the assignment was? 800 words is almost three pages at 12 pt font doubles spaced, and she wanted that in a day about an extremely simple subject.
@SpiralSine6 Ugh yup that’s relatable unfortunately. I have to write 6-12 page essays about shit that could be answered in 2 pages or less. At least I tend to get a week or more to work on it but procrastination makes it roughly a day anyway
It's even more unrealistic with SpongeBob finishing the whole 800 word essay in 5 minutes which is weird when he's only using one piece of paper and says it's done with that one piece of paper at the end. He couldn't have possibly fit that many words on only one piece of paper while still making it readable. I know I'm looking too deep into this, but that whole assignment was unrealistic.
I had both a version with and without the scene, since my family had both a DVD copy and a modified Xbox with nearly the entirety of the first 4 seasons on it.
1:05 Funny little error: SpongeBob misspells "stoplight" as "spotlight". 1:10 This entire scene, from SpongeBob looking out the window to doing calisthenics, was cut out of most broadcasts of the episode for whatever reason (I've heard conflicting reports, from people thinking Patrick rubbing sunscreen on Sandy was weird, to the racecar scene being too graphic). 3:21 And now, the title of the essay has entirely disappeared from the page. 3:57 As a kid, I always thought that this was where the dream started (SpongeBob getting knocked out by the eraser particles or something), but thinking about it now, I feel like it might've happened between him writing "The" and calling Patrick (SpongeBob doesn't really question it, but how does Patrick know he's writing an essay?). Although, when he wakes up, he's at the desk, and he immediately leaves it to pace after writing 'The'.... Maybe I should stop overthinking it?
In "I'm with Stupid", Patrick Star mistakes the word "genius" for "genies" Oddly, in "Christmas Who?," he uses the word "genie" correctly.
Or associates geniuses with the "Idea!" lightblub
Funny reaction. I'm with Stupid made me laugh. Patrick, Janet and Marty's laughing at Spongebob was too much, which made him go crazy
🤣🤣🤣🤣

The moral of “I’m with Stupid”, never agree to act like an idiot for a family of bigger idiots.
1:10 I thought I was delusional when I thought I saw this scene and never saw them do it again on TV
At least this scene is left intact on streaming releases and DVD versions.
I had both a version with and without the scene, since my family had both a DVD copy and a modified Xbox with nearly the entirety of the first 4 seasons on it.
I’m definitely SpongeBob with those procrastination skills 😂
Marty...I'm scared
12:09 I liked your reaction to the end of "I'm With Stupid."
The funny thing is we never find out who those people are or how they even know Patrick
