  • What is it to live the Bond Lifestyle in an authentic and natural way? Is it the way we dress, the way we hold ourselves, our mannerisms, or all of the above...or none of the above? Come explore this discussion with Kyle from Easy Smile and Beautiful Watches as we bask in the experience of Orlebar Brown's environment on Madison Avenue.
Special thanks to OB for hosting us!

When David is not running an advertising and marketing company, his hobby is The Bond Experience which is primarily a video blog where he discusses Bond experiences and the people and brands that help to create those experiences...
The mantra of living like Bond, one moment at a time emanates from a concept of experiencing the joy of collecting small moments in life that add up to amazing journeys and stories....whether it's through style, locations, literature, fitness, and the movies themselves the world of Bond is explored through its people and their stories.
Ultimately though, The Bond Experience channel is a celebration of the James Bond franchise and the many people that form a true community. Our core mission is to create a strong connection in the Bond community amongst all the fans, regardless of interest or demographic.

I loved what you said about posture and mannerisms - I'm going to check out the Blunt Instruments podcast! Don't laugh at me - as an eighteen-year-old when I SUPER got into James Bond, I literally styled my mannerisms off George Lazenby in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I would literally watch how he walked, stood, and what he did with his hands and tried to copy it. There was something about his performance that resonated with me even more than Roger Moore (who was "my" Bond.) Connery walked like a panther, but Lazenby had a kind of strut that I really liked. I think he was originally a model, so it was probably the catwalk strut.
GREAT video! Nice to see Kyle again!

    Brilliant conversation.
Posture is so important. I've focussed on my body posture / position for years in martial arts and weightlifting, but really switched off in everyday. I saw a photo a realised how poor it looked, so been working on how I stand and sit.
The choice of clothes is a great point. I believe I heard it from the great guys From Tailors with Love. Most iconic pieces are utilitarian and resonate through generations. I think Bond is the epitome of form meeting function.

The funny part about 'cosplaying as Bond' is that hardly anyone knows you're doing it unless you're wearing a tuxedo!

Great overview of living the lifestyle everyday. It does become second nature and it evolves into your daily reality. After listening to this and then thinking about it I have realized I do have more Bond-quirks that I practice but did not identify. The posture thing is very important, my military background and several years on drill teams really pressed this into my DNA. I also go for that 1960's look, back when life seemed invigorating, technology was a godsend and there was still hope and role-models. Good discussions David and Kyle.

George Costanza is a classic dresser. Polo's, Oxford dress shirts, sport coats, double breasted jackets, over coats, Loafer's, timberlands, and tweed.

Pierce Brosnan had a strange gait where he always appeared to be leaning backwards. Very stiff movements. Sean Connery was the best, natural, athletic and flowing. Throw in the way he wore and managed his suits and he was incredible.

I never thought of it much but my military posture causes me to lean back. I never noticed this with Brosnan until your mention of it.

Diamonds are Forever shirt is one of my favorites from the collection. I pair it with Mason & Son's Thunderball Sean sunglasses and Daniel Craig's Skyfall swimshorts. The color combination of all 3 match beautifully.

How I start my day a'la Bond lifestyle? Yogurt, figs and coffee very black! Seriously that's what I'm having right now for breakfast, I'm also part Greek so I eat that anyway. Spot on Roger Moore by the way! Cheers!

3:10 Try a posture belt, then eventually good posture will come naturally to you. They are so very cheap too

Do you really try to emulate an actor? Gentlemen, it comes across as total immersion of a cosplay facade.
As an adult, I would think other grown men would be comfortable in their own selves rather than attempting to emulate a character portrayed by an actor
