I have more from your Bonsai videos than any other. The camera work is great with the zooms and you explain everything so clearly. Thank You from an Australian fan.
Hi edagdwg thanks You tube for sharing this story of what happens when you have a plant that makes you smile love it just received another one from my daughter for my 74th brithday sooooooo blessed to have it linda j ☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Very clean, clear, and precise video, as usual. You have a real gift for communication. I recently added several Adenium to my collection. Bought them from Maria's Garden in Punta Gorda. She's a hoot and a real Adenium expert. The stuff they do in Thailand with monster Adenium is amazing. I really appreciate your videos. Nice wiring job. Always learn something from you. Thank you.
Hi Jerome. Love to watch your videos. It is fun learning from you. I am a novice at bonsai so your videos are great at adding to my knowledge. Thanks and keep it super
Great instruction! I have a 10yr old in a large pot and have been thinking about repotting or making a bonsai but have been nervous since it’s looking fantastic. You have relieved my fears. Thank you!
That was terrific. I’m new to Florida and bought two of these at a plant store 3 years ago. I thought I could just put them in the garden. Well, This year one had totally rotted by now and the other was not doing well so I was going to move to a dryer spot. Obviously I didn’t even realize it was a succulent 😳. The root that I found on the surviving plant looked like a 3 lb sack of potato’s. I did replant to a dryer spot but now I see I have to start again. Wish me luck. Thank you for the video (I held my breath when you started walking off the branches after wiring) 😅
I think the roots of this adenium plant was absolutely beautiful,,,, you don't have to cut those off for bonsai look ,,,, it already had that bonsai look,
I would not have removed the matured criss crossing roots as they can produce a desirable look if upon repotting the roots are exposed above soil level.
I also feel that way....especially since he JUST got done saying how it's been 2 years and he hoped it developed a nice caudex....then he lopped off like a third of it.lol. Nice bonsai regardless though, and i hope to see a follow up video.
Good grief!! I just got my first brand new baby Desert Rose plant.... I am anxiously waiting for it to grow bigger than my finger, let alone knowing that you can literally massacre it and make something even more beautiful! What a talent and intriguing hobby! How long does it take a baby plant to grow into a full sized plant?
3 to 4 years to full size. I have many 3 to 5 to 8 yrs old and a rare twin trunk desert rose. The live long I have seen 50yrs one of Mumbai trip from Goa. Follow him @we are the bonsai supply . His the best .
Whenever I see a beautiful bonsai it reignites my desire to take up the hobby! But I often wondered if while learning to create a Bonsai its typical to have several or more failed attempts. Because for me the time and effort spent would be very discouraging just to end up with a couple (or more) dead plants lol! But watching the video was inspiring and I look forward to watching more videos from your company. Thank you!
Iam glad I tuned in, good timing as I have 2 pot bound d rose plant. 1-6seed pods the otherloosing itsleaves, You gave lots of courage to help My plant into abetter Life, thank you.
Hi, if you'd like to learn more about Bonsai, check out our online Bootcamp. It is straight to the point and super easy to understand. onlinebonsai.teachable.com
You can use sulphur powder for the root cuts. They really dry out sooner and prevent fungi and all kind of diseases!! I use it for the cactuses cuts!! Best!!!
I grew 2 of them from seed and they were growing one single stem. Your video inspired my to finally cut the tip so they can grow branches. 2 questions please. If i put the tip that i cut in water will it root? And what do you do with the roots you cut off?
Hi, from the pilliphines watching your video I'm a plants lover I have may adenium her And it's 3yrs.old now I got some Idea how to make a ferpect bonsai thank you so much 👍💖now I'm going to wirings them. it has a big root. I plant it in a plastic container.👍🙏💖💖
I amazed on that process grafting dessert rose.I want to learn more how to make sure that my grafting would be sucessful.how many days do i need to bring it under the sun? Could it be ok f it would be expose during rainy days? Thank you for sharing it.
I know you occasionally work on adeniums, but would you consider doing a video on adeniums from how to start seedlings, to growing conditions, pruning, training roots, fertilizing, dormancy, etc. Literally every “how to” video on adeniums is filmed in other countries, not in English, and raised under very poor quality conditions. Either adeniums aren’t too popular in the US or simply no one has bothered to make an educational video about them. I couldn’t even find a place to buy seeds without ordering overseas from Serbia or some other third world country. Thanks!
Can we get written instructions for taking care of Desert Rose plants? (I can’t write fast enough while watching your videos..!) Excellent presentations!
that a nice prep for the bonsai. love it. do you water the tree right away when doing that or waits for few days? also where to leave it, in side shade for few days then the sun? etc...thx
I noticed on this project, no fungicide was applied to the many cuts (roots and branches). Do you recommend using a fungicide for cuts? Either a store bought fungicide or cinnamon?
Hi Jerome I see you did not add any potting soil to your adeniums and they do very well. It's ok to use just pumice, charcoal, clay and rocks? I'd love to try this mix
Great job, I still think you are a very brave creator of adenium bonsai. I think that i will try this on my adenium next spring. Tell me do the roots grow back after the way you cut yours off to shape the tree? After you have done all that you did to your tree when will you give it it's first watering. What kind of fertilizer do you use on your adeniums? When should you fertilize the adenium? What other kind of fertilizers are good for other bonsai trees? I have pines, deciduous maple and a cypress tree that I have made. I need to know what to feed them all and how to feed them. You should start teaching classes here in Boston, ha ha! Thanks again for knowledge and bravery. 👍😊🌳🌲
So what if I’m not interested in making my adenium into a bonsai , and I just want it to grow a large codex ? Could I just raise it up in the soil and spread out the roots?
Very interesting! This video helps a lot! I am also starting to make bonsai adeniums especially on this pandemic. Thank you so much! Hopefully you will update us on the status of this plant.
Hey Gene, Thank you for the feedback! This tree sold right after the video came out. I put together a very informative Crash course on Adeniums, check it out here: onlinebonsai.teachable.com/p/adeniumbootcamp
the best adenium video in youtube.
3 years on a great video - just what I needed to see - thanks!
I have more from your Bonsai videos than any other. The camera work is great with the zooms and you explain everything so clearly. Thank You from an Australian fan.
Thank you so much 🙏🌳
I've always loved my desert rose... but I never knew it was bonsai!!
I am so excited to have learned all of this today.
Thank you so much!
Bonsai on!
You can bonsai anything
Finally a video with someone I can understand. Please make video of this tree after it has grown new leaves and blooms. 👍

Your videos always are fun to watch. I do like the style you chose for this.
I enjoyed a lot... oh adeniums❤
I can't wait for my leggy desert rose to start looking like this lush bonsai beauty! 😍
Kinda what this tree looks like now. It has inspired me on a Desert Rose I have had for like 5 years and no style..Great Work!
I loved learning about using water to free a root bound plant ! Never would have figured that out on my own. thanks !
Good
It's my new passion! Learning a lot through your videos. Thanks

Hey Jim! Thank you very much for your kind words 🙏
Thanks for vlogging this, I need to work with my adenium, great job.
Hi Jerome. Love to watch your videos. It is fun learning from you. I am a novice at bonsai so your videos are great at adding to my knowledge. Thanks and keep it super
Absolutely love listening to you. You're so creative, courageous and cute.
Great instruction! I have a 10yr old in a large pot and have been thinking about repotting or making a bonsai but have been nervous since it’s looking fantastic. You have relieved my fears. Thank you!
Loved the way you showed. Though it very nice to watch but a doubt to ask is, isn't it necessary to apply fungicide on roots before planting.

Bravo! Very fine job that kept me interested and entertained all the way!
Thank you Kurt
Very impressive I will use your expertise for my desert rose that I took from my sister-in-law's plant cuttings ...
I do about azalea. It makes good sense to do it. Because I like the unique characteristics of the adenium tree
That was terrific. I’m new to Florida and bought two of these at a plant store 3 years ago. I thought I could just put them in the garden. Ron Peterson hahah, thank yo so much Ron. You can find our soil and other supplies on our website: thebonsaisupply.com
Very nice video, thank You! Can You please tell after what time it is OK to watering this plant after This process?
All these negative comments from people who don't even bonsai. LOL rock on Jerome awesome video and information as always!!
How about a follow up video for this tree? I would love to see how it turned out
Bryson Gainey the tree sold after the video was posted
Shadowlawn Nursery exactly! 90% have no clue 👀🌳
I think the roots of this adenium plant was absolutely beautiful,,,, you don't have to cut those off for bonsai look ,,,, it already had that bonsai look,
First time to see how to bonsai an adenium. Thanks a lot, bro!
Very Cool to see from the beginning how this is down.
Thank you for sharing....I’m inspired to work on my desert rose too....but a new gardener...so hope i don’t kill my bush
I'm very nervous too. It took a long time to get leaves. I live in New England in a cold weather climate. I'm very new to this
;i
I'm grateful! Just starting to work with my first 2 desert roses. Thank you for teaching in a very simple, linear way.
My pleasure, thank you for watching! You might want to check out our other desert rose videos :)
Your wiring technique was great
Very interesting thanks for the video it's the first time I see the transformation from basic shape to bonsaï
Glad you liked it!
Very good demonstration, waiting to see next time it blooms.
Hey Lowell, This tree sold shortly after this video
Nice presentation enjoyed watching please show the progress
Hey Connie, thank you 🙏 this bonsai was sold shortly after the video got resleased
Very good. Terima kasih informasinya kawan. From indonesia.
You remind me so much of my brother.... if only he was into plants like me.. 😔

How long do you leave the wire on the branches, and does the wire leave marks as the branches grow and thicken?
live them minimum 3 mounths and yes branches grow and thicken.
Very cool tutorial and gives me inspiration to try it.
It seems that at 3’35” there is a cut where the bottom of the root caudex is trimmed. I would have liked to have seen this.
@@mwg3223 In bonsai formation, you do not allow branches or roots to cross each other on a plant!
Yeah like ficus, thought the same thing :D

Probably the best quote of all time ‘knowing you can literally massacre it and make something more beautiful’ I’m crying 😭 😂

It is the only way to learn by trial and error! As long as you learn form each error, you will become very good at it.

Keep up the great videos.🦋
Patricia Hendershot thank you Patricia
I have not seeing anything like it before love Bonsai!!!
but don’t like when you go in a rush can’t appreciate the work your doing...😉
Very artistically prepared
“Don’t want to hurt the roots”... continues to chop all the roots off.
He’s using those for cuttings to root new plants
What do you do with the older soil or substrate, do you reuse it?
Could those big roots you cut off be planted to grow another plant?
Love it!!!
Love this video...so very interesting!!
