Love watching you, you are my master expert 😊 I am a Swiss citizen living in Thailand enjoying my retirement. I have an important desert roses collection of over 400 species; the most aged is over 100 years and the tallest up to 3 meters 😍 Thanks for your inspiration 🙏🏿
@@christopherbrown1958 he said in another video that he first starts watering every week and then (I don't know exactly when, maybe after a few weeks, or when he sees a lot of new growth) he starts watering every three days, and I think when it starts blooming he waters every day, and after the blooming is over he goes back to every three days (during summer).
Man, thanks for sharing such a wealth of knowledge. Also, great job on answering those questions. You are answering all of my wonderings from one video to the next.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 🪴👑
*Snailephant!* 🐚🐘 I have a couple 25 year old desert rose plants that my late spouse had left in a pot after he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that are about a foot plus high. I'm going to attempt to do this and bring to it's former glory...
Awesome video, Jerome.....DUDE, I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!! The Snail is amazing. I'm looking forward to updates on the little guy as well. And as far a name goes....hey, it's your tree, man. The honor of naming it should be yours.
You are a genius, and the only thing I'm angry about is that I did not discover your channel about 2.5 years ago, when I first got my Adenium Seeds. Of course, that's not your fault, but this is a youtube comment, so if there's no anger in it, i probably did it wrong, right? jokes aside, thank you. You really are amazing, and I appreciate you a ton. Next time I'm down in the sunshine (I'm from Canada), I am vising you, even if only to say thank you in person :))))
You are awesome, i'm shocked to see what you created. I think I will try doing something similar to my adenium soon as i get the courage to do it! I think you should rename the snail to the elephant because it resembles one. I will continue to watch you to learn even more. Keep it up, thanks phil
Philip Tavella hey Philip! Thank you for your kind words. Elephant it is! Maybe start experimenting with a less expensive one first and do it in the summer time.

amazing channel, amazing videos. but, you put the music too high and your voice volume is lower, so, out of the blue when you stop talk start the music and its make me crazy like "omg, why too high?"
Hello, I see my question below but I don't see a reply from you. Once I dry the roots and then plant it, what is the method for watering the plant? If I am not adding a nail to it and planting it, I think I should water thoroughly but then do I wait for it to dry out before watering again? I am just about ready to plant it and just need this information to ensure I do it correctly. Thanks in advance for your reply and thanks for your videos!
Hi Jerome, loved watching this video. I am not sure the different soils and materials you mentioned are available in India. I have been using organic vermicompost, cocopeat, sand, red soil, charcoal and some granules and brick pieces for my desert rose bonsai. Is this enough?
QUESTION: How common is root rot and what are the main causes of it. AND: Just a suggestion, please consider turning your music down when you switch over from talking, it is WAY to loud.
Jerome, you're amazing.I am an adenium freak.I am always experimenting with them.but I have never waited two years.you are so patient.what I would like to know is how often after you did this to the adenium do you water it.I realize with the fresh cut you don't water it right away but how often after that do you.and what is your All Purpose soil? is it Bonsai soil?and is that same soil good for adeniums?
I freaked when I saw you cut those roots ,but it made sense after you did it , I would have been a little more selective but that's just me , are some desert rose species better to do than others ?
Whats up, Jerome! Once the screw entry is completly healed and you water it for the first time, how much water do you use and how long until you'll water it again?
Love your trainings. If you could pls tell me what do you use on the branches when you cut them, I have Heard of using cinnamon, but I notice you didn’t put any thing on the cut, the cutting that I’ve done to mine are looking dry and not very pretty, will it eventually change and be smooth?
Really enjoy your episodes, especially this one. So to grow the trunk as large as say “the snail’s,” could you do a chop of the root systems every few years and dry it out again in order to continue large trunk and root development? Thanks!
Hey Josh! Thank you very much for your kind words! You could, however if you want it to get as big as the snail, you probably wouldn't want to do as much root trimming for a couple of years and get all the growth you can get.
I pruned and repotted my adenium 3 months back. All branches have Leaves sprouting and grown healthy but in One branch new leaves are sprouting and turning yellow and dying. When I repotted the adenium 3 months back it had little root rot, I cut and treated according to your suggestions. The branch before repotting also had the same problem. I cut some part of the branch, it looks and feels healthy. What can I do?
you can now name it elephant coz it looks like the behind of an elephant...i love adenium too and i'm trying to apply what i've learned from you. Thank you for sharing...
Thank you for the video. Question: I’ve never seen the plate screwed into the plant before. Given that it will grow like that for the next few years, how do you get it out from the roots as they grow over/around it? BTW, you have some “drop dead” gorgeous Adenium s 😀
Hey Nick, Pumice is a great aggregate but you need more than just pumice on its own. Mix in some pine bark which will help with nutrient retention. Also, are you fertilizing?
We are The Bonsai Supply , Yes I have just started to fertilise this year. I have no problem with my other Bonsai. Adeniums are a little new to me. Thanks for your response.

And keep moving up the trunk on every repotting. Maybe one day I’ll get the courage to chop one up. I’ll do a small one just in case I kill it.
Ana Klaric hey Ana, this is a very good advice! To my knowledge not all Adeniums are poisonous especially the ones I have been working with. As long as you make sure you wash your hands and tools with soapy water after handling them you are okay. Just avoid eye contact! However there are a few that are toxic like the bohemianum, the multiflorum and the obesum

Adenium is a underrated species for Bonsai, beautiful..
Bonsai Talk you are right about that! In the Asian countries aside from Japan it is actually a very common species for Bonsai.

Call it The Squid.
Elephant instead of snail
