For your seat I like the idea of having it further back. One suggestion I have is to not strap it on the front bar but rather the back one so you can flip it up when standing and have all the room.
Thank you for this video. I've watched about every Catch 120 video here and this one is exactly what I was wanting to see. I just recently bought a Catch 120 NXT and have been looking at ideas for it and these are great.
I appreciate the videos everyone else makes and I can learn from, if you look through my other videos you will see no complicated video editing, just trying to contribute to this You Tube thing. Good luck with your Catch.
I believe the 120 NXT will be my next boat . I haven't seen a bad review on either the Catch boats . You have given me lots of food for thought, good ideas thanks.
When I started shopping last fall for a sit on top and decided on the Catch, the going price as I shopped around was $749. I kept looking and thought if someone would just drop $50 dollars off one I would pick one up, West Marine offered a sale for $649 and the Academy Sports here in town matched the price. Now I have seen them for as little as $599 at Orscheln Farm & Home. The Catch is a good choice.www.orschelnfarmhome.com/view/product/si-the-catch-120-kayak/si6837012?gclid=CjwKEAjw1PPJBRDq9dGHivbXmhcSJAATZd_B7F8YDj2tZBP-hFpcCjpguR85o4DXz2KRdsPJFLSOqxoCg6vw_wcB
I'm a pac-rat, I'm not sure how I wound up with this material, possibly some old vacuum hose extensions. I just know they are a slip-fit where all the PVC pipe I have would be a press-fit and barley removable. I can add a folded piece of paper and make these a light press if I choose.
I can stand in it, but stand and fish, no. I can stand and paddle around like on a paddle board. I can stand and stretch my legs, but fish and hook set, no. Maybe I'm just uncoordinated.
At 6:21 in the video hit pause and you will find what you need. There are 5 different camo colors + the flat black witch is the same paint as the camo. Buy them individually or in a six pack kit at Wally world. After removing the yellow bungee in the back and painting the yellow front hatch locks it looks much better. The ammo boxes were already a tan color so they were easy. You can easily remove the front hatch locks for painting.
The dog leashes can be handy but if you anchor in deep water and want some distance between the anchor and boat, 75' of cord on a small reel is nice to have. In shallow water I use a 8’ garden stake for a stake out anchor, it has short small chains on one end for lure retrieval.
thank you and you were correct we learn from every video and yours was one the more interesting thanks again
Very nice setup, thank's for the video!
Great ideas man

Such a great idea
Just got a 120 and looking all around for some idea. Like the whole camo the hatches. Looks cool.
I've found when I take it out sometimes I can get it really muddy and dirty, it just looks more camo.
How did the transducer sit in that hatch under the seat?
What size ammo boxes are those? They're a perfect fit.
www.mtmcase-gard.com Try this link and see if they even sell them, I bought them at Manards lumber yard years ago.

I couldn’t quite understand what you were saying about the rod holders. What were you using for the slide in extensions?

I'm upgrading from a pelican sentinel 9.5 to this mainly cuz I want to stand up

I'm planning on mounting my fish finder in a similar place as you did. Is it too far to reach though?
Nice job..mind telling me where you got the rear and Center hatch and what sizes they are?
what did you do for coloring all the hatches and everything... spraypaint??

use a dog leash for anchor. thank me later
