I don’t support the government of Ghana to ever bring back a national airline because I’ve live a bit longer to experience how Ghanaian workers at Ghana airways did to run down or collapse GA? In 1992 I was going to South Africa thru Zimbabwe with Ghana airways ticket it took me 2 months to get a seat all because I refused to pay BRIBE at Ghana Airways office both in Accra and Kumasi, after waiting for all this time a friend advised me to go to airport with my STANDBY TICKET lo and behold I got a seat that night but to my surprise the flight that I was told is fully booked TOOK OFF HALF EMPTY TO ZIMBABWE ? You see the wickedness of the Ghanaian WORKERS?
Isn't this a shame. We need our own airline. That would be the real good news

Isn’t this a shame. We keep on welcoming all these foreign airlines who see Ghana as a profitable investment but sadly we can’t even see the potential in our own country. We can’t even buy just one airplane . Don’t get me wrong, competition is good for business but where does Ghana stand in this race? Nowhere! 25 foreign airlines and if they all come to Ghana daily or every two days plus each airline carrying 200 passengers, just do the math. Ghana can have just one airline and put it on an European flight daily and also have a piece of the pie but our politicians will prefer to spend money unnecessarily. I weep for mother Ghana.

We CANNOT blame our leaders for the fall of our national airline, rather, we should blame the managers and staff of our national airline.... How can an airplane take off and 90% of the passengers are flying FOR FREE? (Spouses, children, girlfriends, colleagues you name it). This doesn't happen anywhere but Ghana. (I have evidence and can always mention names). These other nationals that we are comparing ourselves to are disciplined, have very strict code of conduct and have good auditing and monitoring system. Ghana shouldn't compound our debt burden by operating an airline anytime soon UNTIL WE LEARN TO DISCIPLINE OURSELVES FIRST.
My dear, Ghana airways era is long gone. We can’t be comparing that time to modern day Ghana. The world is changing and progressing. Look at a country like Rwanda, who thought they will rise from the ashes after the genocide. The country is thriving and have their own national airline that even flies to Ghana. Ghana was way ahead of them but look at us now, stagnant. How many change of governments has Ghana had since the Ghana airways era and why is the country in debt? Isn’t it from our own leaders mismanagement? This airline ITA is Italy’ s national airline and owned by the government. They used to have Alitalia and when it went belly under in 2021 from mismanagement and bankruptcy they turned things around and ITA was born. Why couldn’t Ghana have done the same. How many years has it been since Ghana airways collapsed.

25 years ago, when I was traveling to Italy 🇮🇹 I went with an Italian airlines flight from Ghana to Milan, so this is not the first time, so I don't know why you're saying is first time, and secondly is not even really good for everyone living in Italy because traveling from bolzano to Rome is is more than a day away with changing busses and trains its not easy, it good if you leave around Rome
Masa I live in the USA some times I connect two different flights before I get to either New York or Chicago or Detroit or Atlanta GA? So no matter where you live in Italy it’s not a big deal ok?
You can check if they fly from Milan. They might fly from Rome to Milan and then to Ghana or from Milan to Rome then Ghana. Ethiopia n other flights sometimes follow the route I described; Rome- Milan or Milan- Rome then Ethiopia.
