It was sitting almost for 2 years (1 year and 10 months) and it was last started in summer (in video was first start after year). 2001 Audi A4 Avant 2.8 Quattro
Dude, these older cars are hidden gems! Underrated automotive gold! Built to last years, especially with care! They just don't make them like they used to! #nostalgia #childhood
Glad to see an old Audi not being forgotten, I had an Audi A6 1999 with a 2.4l V6 engine in Germany for 5 years. Bought it for 800€ with 280k km in 2015. Sadly I moved to Austria in 2020 and had to give it back to my old boss with 430k km! Imagine that!!! A tank of a car!
My mercede w124 e280 was standing about 5 years, when i was to turn him on one of my friends did not belive that car will work, all i need to do is to knock fuel pump and the engine turn on.his words was"how much money you ask for this car"
That always seems to be a common problem with VW products is things related to coolant (thermostats, coolant temperature sensors). I’m amazed at how smoothly it ran.
The A4 B5 is a classic, a wonderful design with a superb balance of backseat and boot space. Even after all these years it still looks modern. We have an 1996 A4 1.9TDi 90BHP auto in the family and I cherish it , even if it demands a lot of LTC these days.
Love those B5's! Very nice to see it being rescued and put back on the road! One of the last good NA engines very robust model, too bad they don't make them like they used too. Greetings from Portugal!
Great car, had that engine on an A6. Best car i've ever driven. Very nice to see it rescued, however that noise that comes from the engine during cold start could be the camshaft chain tensioner going out and making those rattlings by letting the chain slip. If you plan on keeping the car it wouldn't hurt to check that. Anyway, great video!
Yeah, this is a common thing and with that much rattle at start it should be replaced. Also I think i heard some exhaust leaks? Good to see another b5 back on the road and I am glad that you let her got home on her own wheels. 😉 That chain tensioners are a little pain in the butt as easiest way is to replace it is to take engine out as they are at the back of the engine. Also common thing are the leaks from camshafts covers. Many people complain about oil consumption in those engines, but once I sealed leaks like this there is almost no oil losses between changes. I have it in Manual and I track day it from time to time. On my channel you can see an onboard video.
Good save there! Turned out to be a really nice avant too. I had two V6 Syncro Passat's with that same engine. One was an auto and one was a manual. I think the engine is better suited to an auto, as there really isn't anything at the top end of the rev range apart from more noise 😂 whereas the zf 5spd auto keeps the engine in the power band better. Couldn't see from the service history booklet, but if it hasn't been done, the auto box would work even better with an oil and filter change. As those 5spd zf boxes are pretty robust too. 👍😎
Such beautifully made cars. They exude quality in a way none of the newer ones do. Built to be owned and cherished, not leased and replaced every 3 years.
They didn’t get a line wrong in these cars. Audi styling in the late 90’s - early 00’s was top notch! These are increasingly rare in the USA. Most have succumbed to years of deferred maintenance and neglect. I never understood why even premium home market European cars of the period often had crank windows in the back. We didn’t get this in the US. Lovely car
Love the channel. You make it all look so easy. My B5.5 Passat would sit for 2 days and have double the problems. It was pristine yet always behaved badly.
Hi from uk 👋👍 great gem this one a had b6 1.8 quattro which was standing for over year 👍that first start tho was hard on my ears and soul cos when some sit for will oil tensioner loses its values and needs to rebuild pressure. this one tho came up really well👌 its got the bottle and brush detail rather than usual quick scrub up so good job👍 that dsg gearbox was great to but I noticed the fuel went from nearly full to near empty (take it you drove this one a bit👌 thanks for your time and be safe see you soon👍👋
I used to work with a lady who drove one of these. The only difference is that her car had a manual transmission. Otherwise, it looked just like yours. Great video!
Hello Flexiny, Thank you for sharing this video of a top-of-the-range Audi A 4 model. It is a model that we still see a little on our roads, especially in its TDI version.
the Audi A4 B5 for me is one of the best Audi ever built together with the B6 and B7. Cars built to last over time. I had the B7 1.9 Tdi 116 Hp and I did 500,000 km without ever having a problem. Audi always Audi❤
Dude, got the same car and I really hate when people are lazy enough to remove the passenger part of the lower windshield cover to remove the battery. Its way easier and you do not brake the cover. So happy you did that at least when you put the new battery. I kinda relate, because I bought a car like this, blue after 3 years of sitting outside. And its perfect.
Wow! Unlike most cars in this channel, she ran out her bed herself without a glitch! And the 2.8 petrol engin is smooth like a VIOLIN! I bet the initial yelling was the hydraulic valve system getting lubed first time...
Handsome cars these A4s. This was a gem, ran like a peach after the initial tapping from the valvetrain cleared up. Well done on putting her back on the road.
I'm beast. This Audi A4 is the newest car to be rescued so far. If the translation is ok, the brakes defect, it was air in the system!!! silly defect. The temperature sensor, even on the Volkswagen Gol in Brazil, has 4 pins (there is a version with two pins). His position, on top, excellent!! As for the light on the panel, even with the sensor changed, if you didn't have the VAG-COM, the ideal would be to remove the battery terminals and leave it for about 5 minutes without it, reconnect it, and turn it off, every two or three starts. In my car (a Volkswagen Gol), this happens, I don't know if in Audis, it's the same procedure.
A very nice Audi !!! These models are so much better than the new models. Whe drive the same Audi but than a 1.9 TDI diesel and the engine whas super, 535.000 km when whe sold here, but the new owner is restoring the car so it will be a real oldtimer !! Nice video !!
I understand why this car was abandoned is such good shape given that the owner didn't even fill the brake fluid. And the right wing is no problem to fix, even replace, it's the B5 only panel prone to rust, good find!
Looks nice for a 21 years old car and it have a very good engine, amazing work, I love your videos, I recently discovered your channel and I can't stop watch their.
Wjat a lovely car, its wonderful how it started first try after sitting all that time. It's cleaned up very nicely too, and I'm pleased you managed to pull out the dentin the front wing. Great work
Congratulations on the Audi :) I drive a 1994 Audi A8 4.2L V8, amazing when it drives (and Audi Space Frame, no rust!) but maintenance can be a pain. Currently halfway through repairing the infamous oil cooler leak on it, terrible job to be honest...
You have done a great job, but the problems of the cars in the north of europe are the roads with snow , ice and salt for long time, so the mechanical parts under the veichle are full of rusty after some years.
Everything else here is fairly reasonable to find, what i'm actually amazed about, is that you managed to find a car that was left to sit for so long and it still has its catalytic converters, to be able to pass the inspection with no emission problems. Usually cars of this age are all stripped of their cats for money :D Anyway, great job bringing it back, this actually looks good enough for a aesthetic project, upgrading it to look like an S4/S-line.
Estos autos son excelentes,yo tengo uno del 2008 y es fiel a pesar de que lo encontré muy deteriorado logré salvarlo y ahora no falla.y creo que tengo auto para rato.saludos desde Chile.👏👏
23:23 Looks like the rear bumper isn't matching the body color, and we are pleased to get that dent out of the front right bumper, Anyways very nice content and that car was good AF !
Adui A4 sitting there two years need battery pump all four tires and the seats are good condition German vehicles Volkswagen Mercedes Benz BMW awesome video flexliy bless you keep on what you doing mechanic field
If this was for sale locally where I live I’d buy it immediately. Been looking for a Quattro A4 or B4 Audi 80 for a while. Also considered a C4 Audi 100 but the only local one needs work but the owner is refusing to sell it.
Very nice work! Love watching old cars getting the treatment they deserve. Although you might need to visit a car re-upholsterer to fix those infamous sagging interior panels on the doors. Rest is perfect! :)

Videos keep getting better. Somehow it’s really satisfying to see these abandoned cars getting back on the road.

You're right These cars are very amazing
Prestine condition would be going a bit far but it is nice I suppose

The 2.8 is a great engine. The 30v a little less so than the 12v, but they're definitely some of the better NA engines Audi has made.
My 2.8l 98 a6 lasted only 330k before it blew headgasket 😔
you're saying the 12v is better than the 30v?

Don't forget coolant plastic pipes, especially on vr6 for example.
Damn thx.. Now i miss my old -98 A6 2.8 quattro. Lowered to be a snow plow without even hesitating on driving through the Swedish winter roads
