The Ice Breaker himself - aka Rich Ferguson - is back with a card trick that even fooled Brian! --- For more Scam School, follow Brian at: • / shwood • / shwood • google.com/+shwood • / scamschool
I think there are graphs and stats with the amount of viewers per second, so you can see which parts are viewed by many and which parts are mostly skipped
he shuffles it using the "farro" of pharo or something like that shuffle. what he does it he puts all of the 6/7 on top of the deck when he shuffles it all of the 6/7 are in the order now (since the "perfect" farro shuffle ensures it overlaps meaning all of the 6/7 are gonna be in the random-6/7-random 6/7 order)
Not sure if you'll see this Brian, but I've been subbed to Modern Rogue for a long time. Recently researching confidence tricks for a D&D campaign and foundthis gem, thank you.
Don't put an emphasis on the card numbers when setting up your deck. Any sequential cards work. IE: 2's and 3's, 3's and 4's. Just make sure when you have them pick a card, you put the lower number of cards on top. I just did it with 8's and 9's. 8 cards on top so their card is always the 9th
Actually, Brian commented on one video that I watched. A lot of the ads only pay out with site visits/signups. So it doesn't matter if you watch as long as you go to the site.
The method where he uses the pharo shuffle before is slightly different setup but the effect is still the same, using the faro method is not for most viewers of scam school, which is why they ignored it.
Some can actually scan your skipping activity, so they can see how many people skip through the ads. Just ask Brian. But most work with some code on their products to identify scamschool watchers
I caught the alternated shuffle. I caught the forced split in the deck to replace the chosen card. I thought it was a CHASED deck and he was going to find her card on his own. I didn't know it was as simple as 6,7,6...
Question? When you cut the cards, and leave the stack alone.. the 6 # 7 # 6 # 7 pattern doesn't start straight away.. so how do you know they'll stop in the stack??
It doesn't actually matter whether or not you view the ads. Because they are in the video, there is no freaking way to monitor how often they get watched. Instead, the ads pay out for each view on the video, not each view of the ads. Thus, you can skip every ad on all 200 episodes and they will still get paid as though you watched all of the ads.
I'm assuming Brian started off with a faro shuffle, which was not mentioned. As I prefer the card being exactly at # 7, I'm going to use four more 7's (and not use the 6's) from another deck and try it that way.
would it still work if the guy or girl choosing from the random card pile chooses one from the first 6 cards, wouldn't that ruin the trick because when they return the card u can't break 6 cards on top of that card
dude the question is when the person puts the card back into the pile nd if he puts the card somewhere not at 6 or 7 like he put on card 11 how r u gonna know that nd how r u gonna change that card from number 11 to 6 or 7. plz tell me this i m really confused abt tht..
Since there are 14 cards that are ok you could have them roll dice and count out the roll or you could have them think of a card or have someone else pick another one and count out it’s face value
Well good thing that wasn’t the trick you were performing then. The occasional time a spectator asks to shuffle my SI Stebbins stack, you then immediately switch to a routine that doesn’t require a stack or slug. If they go past your slug, it becomes a pick card routine that you then find a way to reveal the other card. Do a trick with the card they pick that isn’t a 6 or 7 then force a 7
However, it'd be kinda bad press if there's a guy at every video saying, skip the ads here, here, and here. That's empty advertisement, which looks bad on Scam School's part. Of course the brands are still seen by most people, but something to consider.
I highly, highly doubt that. I have not found any evidence supporting that someone can monitor which parts are skipped. Now, the code is how they get their revenue.
It's a shame they didn't cover that part. The shuffle is a big part of this being a "magician fooler", otherwise a stacked might be too obvious for an illusionist. There are some other well known tricks using similar principles after all. From what i saw, Rich is using a faro shuffle (look it up on TH-cam, there are a lot of tutorials). It's not a false shuffle, but done properly, it makes this particular effect waayy more convincing. I suppose, that in the beginning Ferguson has all of 6s and 7s on top of the deck. Then he cuts the cards and performs an ideal faro shuffle, in which cards from both packets perfectly interweave. This leads to the setup described in the video: indifferent card, 6/7, some card, 6/7, random card, 6/7 etc. Good luck, if you actually decide to learn that trick after 6 months from seeing it xD This kind of faro shuffle might take some practice to perform reliably, but it's worth it.
He makes good points about the sponsors seeing hte comments and about hte codes needing used (which is how he gets his money), but I see no evidence aside from his word that they can track what part of a video is watched. I've done a lot of research trying to find out how it is done or something saying it is done, but I can't find anything. Would you mind seeing if you can somehow find that info? It's not that I dont believe you, it's that now I'm really curious as to how they do it xD
Great trick but that person didn't pull it off. You can hear that weird wait a sec and the other pull out three cards. He tilt his head under to check if it was the wrong card.
Not quite. They only get paid if you use the codes or whatever in the appropriate services. From my understanding, they don't make money just for having the ads.
One of the best tricks I've ever seen on Scam school.
I love the episodes when Brian is already drunk by the time he starts recording

at the end the magician was also confused at 12:37 LOL
A really good card trick on scam school. That's been a while. I'm definitely gonna try this one sometime.
Not sure if you'll see this Brian, but I've been subbed to Modern Rogue for a long time.

Great! Thanks Brian and thanks Rich :-)
Been watching this for 4 years and haven't bought a drink for 3 years
Thanks this added some more mind blowing stuff to my performance on pearl Street
he's a master magician and with a perfect pharo shuffle you can still control the cards.
How can it be done with the riffle shuffle in the beginning without upsetting the setup?
wouldnt shuffling the cards like he did in the beginning mess up the 6 and 7 pattern?
Actually, Brian commented on one video that I watched. A lot of the ads only pay out with site visits/signups. So it doesn't matter if you watch as long as you go to the site.
I like how shiny that table is. Wonder what it's finished with, especially since it's an exterior table?
That trick broke my heart! Haha

No matter what others say, I LOVE YOUR HAIR :)

thumbs up for vultron refrence at the end
That ice breaker guy really rushes them i wouldnt be able to think with him around

thats awesome here in germany i fooled my friends a couple of times thanks for that and go on
that is the most bad ass t-shirt
Anyone know exactly what deck Rich is using? I like the design but I can't figure out what type of deck it is or the name for that matter
5 views 68 likes, this is a real magician
what do you do if you're spreading the cards and they take one before the sixth or seventh.
I'm assuming Brian started off with a faro shuffle, which was not mentioned.

that is when audience control come into play
WWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW
Great trick.
God bless you Rich Ferguson :P
And ScamSchool of course XD
would it still work if the guy or girl choosing from the random card pile chooses one from the first 6 cards, wouldn't that ruin the trick because when they return the card u can't break 6 cards on top of that card
two of my favorite magician !!!!! SCAMMERS.................
This one hurt my head
1:41 look at how he shuffled
....is it fate or just a coincidence that they both chose the same card in the tricks?!
'you have magicass'
Forget the trick, I wanna learn how to shuffle the cards like that.
love this trick it works every time
What are the card that he uses???
@KevinF1231 No problem bro, im glad to help
put all 6 and 7 on the top and do a prefect faro shuffle
My soul is broken....
what happens if you dont pick the 7th card how do yo do it
That is amazing trick.
I have seen David Blaine teach that too...
what if the spectator deals past the 14th card of the stack what do you do then??
okay, so what rich did at the beginning was that he had all sixes and sevens on top then faroed the deck so the cards would be intertwined
@MindFreakMast3r YOU REALLY ARE A MINDFREAK CAUSE YOU FREAK ME OUT
dude the question is when the person puts the card back into the pile nd if he puts the card somewhere not at 6 or 7 like he put on card 11 how r u gonna know that nd how r u gonna change that card from number 11 to 6 or 7. plz tell me this i m really confused abt tht..
great trick
First thought was - forcing deck on the half stack.
how to do the shuffle ..of cards..>?
Yeah I thought I had put that somewhere else on here. Ah well.
I thought I stated that alternative somewhere else. yeah that is the most likely scenario.
woot woot !
I saw david blaine do a tutorial on this!
What should you do when the spectator decides to be a douche and passes all the 6 and 7 cards?
This happened to me. Is sneakily cut the bottom 3 cards away. Got away with it. Improvise.
Since there are 14 cards that are ok you could have them roll dice and count out the roll or you could have them think of a card or have someone else pick another one and count out it’s face value

3:30 microphone on the top of the escreen xD xD
You may want to do some other types of stunts or tricks first because of the setup. Like 3fly or a packet trick then break out the deck.
Thumps up if you hate when sentences start with "Thumps up if you"
I didn't see the tutorial yet but i already know how it works
ctrl+ x to skip the ads guys
You kicked a dog!

if you use the code potato salad will become a mammal.
only brian can use magic to scam youtubes play count
yea
i guess he had all the and 6 and 7 on the top and with a perfect pharo shuffle he put the random cards between them.
Scam? Ironic place to put it! :D

The lady on the right doesn't seem very entertained.
I highly, highly doubt that. I have not found any evidence supporting that someone can monitor which parts are skipped. Now, the code is how they get their revenue.
love you
@tamquyen94 explained at 7:11 Maintain a break under 6 cards and let your spectator place the selection 7th from the top
table looks shiny.
3 likes 0 views, makes perfect sense
I saw a comment from Brian Brushwood once where he stated that. I don't know where he wrote that, so I can't support with evidence :(
How does he shuffle the cards in the beginning? Doesn't that ruin the setup?
+Stefan Reich magic :P
😯😯😯😯😯😯😯

The deck strats by the 8 cards (6or7) then when he shuffle he put the random cards between the 6 and 7

YOU KICKED A DOG!!!!!!!!???????????
Hmmm, interesting. Well, thanks for the info. I guess i was wrong afterall.
this a trick of DAVID BLAINE...!
So did I. . . idk how. . .
press 5 that´s important
COOL!!
Well yes, ads will be pulled for a product that doesn't work. Especially if the promo code here isn't used.
Great trick but that person didn't pull it off. You can hear that weird wait a sec and the other pull out three cards. He tilt his head under to check if it was the wrong card.
intro 0:22
1st ad 4:53
@jija0909 Yeah, how did that happen??
he most likely (probably spelled it wrong) did a faulse shuffle. look up some faulse shuffles and practice them. ^.^
Not quite. They only get paid if you use the codes or whatever in the appropriate services. From my understanding, they don't make money just for having the ads.
What happends when the victim dont choose a 7th or 6th card??
im a bit confused...
in the beginning, he shuffles the deck.
huuuuuuuuuuuuh???
it will make my hair like brians :D
where's Richs' beer?
this doesn't always work... some people when told to stop whenever they feel just go right through to the end, past all of the 6 and 7's.
But he shuffled it
awsome
It was the pharo that set up the 6's or 7's
