Amen! Amen! Amen! I’ve never heard of this saint. What a glorious story and thank you for uploading it. May St. Callistratus and his companions intercede for us that our souls may be saved. ☦️
This has rapidly become by favorite channel on TH-cam. I started off looking for early church history and had an Orthodox friend send me a video from here and now I’m hooked and sharing with all my friends and family. Keep up the great work, I love this content!
One of my favorite Saints! Very nice channel btw- good information, clearly presented with a relaxed atmosphere to enable absorption of the message. God bless you to continue ☦️
Just got finished watching every video you guys have made. Excellent channel very impressed I pray your viewership grows quickly. I’ve been looking for this channel since it was mentioned on a Pageau QandA. I didn’t realize it was spelt with an x lol
@@Patristix friend, I have seen channels where I loved their content when they got 5k subs, like Cooking with History by Max Miller and Wendigoon and got famous. The channel you own got that very cozy feeling like those channels and I learn as well (Im a Catholic). God bless whatever this channel is heading
"we" live in a free country and don't suffer but there are countless Christians in the middle east that are under persecution may our faith be strong as theirs.
Watched this with my 11yo son and he’s curious what happened to the other 130 soldiers - why weren’t they executed? Did the authorities just tell them they can live if they keep their faith quiet?
The stories don't say and it's a good question. There seems to be an implication that they wanted to complete the 'job' of silencing the Christians in that legion, but realised that if they kept going it would only get worse so they just chose to ignore it. They killed the 50 in the cells and just 'moved on'. According to the story, the 130 collected and buried the bodies of the martyrs, and built a church at the site. A few decades later Christianity became the religion of the Empire so it's likely many of the 130 lived into that age of freedom and passed on the story!
Oh wow! This is so good. Thank you 🙏🏾
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels.
Amazing what’ve you created in such a short time here.
And great story shared today.
I've never heard this story..God Bless
As a father-to-be, living in a place that does not welcome the gospel, that closing word is a huge encouragement. Thank you.

Love your channel. I wish I knew what song was used on this video.
To hear about the people who valued the same beliefs as mine and died for it is, crazy. What a brave man. Christ is Risen.
It's true. Knowing that they're part of the same Church as us and were that brave... it's crazy
He is risen indeed! God bless.
Wonderful story, and I love your take on it too. Keep going, my brother; your videos are pure gold!
Thank you! Will do!

Go go go! We didn't know the legacy aspect to his story. Incredible and encouraging. Did you, Stephen, by chance go to Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary?
If so it appears it's Stefan. My apologies!
