Good god that was one of the worst broadcasts I’ve ever seen at any level. Commentators who clearly did zero research on the teams, no audio from the refs most of the game, producers never showing any replays on the mountain of penalties called…. just a dumpster fire.
Not defending them but you can chalk (yeah I did that) it up to them broadcasting all the games because they are greedy, then saddle us with teams of people that never have broadcasted games together before, on top of people who simply don’t do too many games outside of the crappy games shown on espn U or espn news. They save the seasoned, solid teams for the better bowl games.
@@irishron4861 KU gets the D-tier squad for almost all their games, that is nothing new. This was exceptionally bad. Not knowing why KU would go to Jared Casey on a critical play? How can you work covering D1 college football and not know he is probably the most famous player on the team and has a history of those plays? And the play-by-play lady is the same person who sucked the life out of the thrilling KU-WVU game last year.

Awesome game. Kansas returning most of their team next season and these teams will play again in September 2024. Kansas now leads all time series 2-1. Interesting little nugget is all 3 bowl games today featured the teams being tied in their head to head history. BGSU/Minn was 2-2, Texas St/Rice was 2-2, and Kansas/UNLV was 1-1. Wonder if bowl committee knew that lol? And on a side note Beth Mowins is so annoying to listen to. Her constant screaming is horrendous and ESPN needs to take her off of calling games. She's dumb and tries to be so much like Doris Burke
making calls like when UNLV was on like the 50 yard line and got stopped on 4th down about the 45 and she said " It might not be enough to get them in field goal range" lmao
As a Jayhawk Alum with decades of crappy footbal, I'm glad to see them playing such high level football. I remmber the 2008 Orange Bowl
win. Then the University fired Mangino cause some of the players said he was mean! Long - long embarrassing drought between then and now!
Hope the University learned a lesson.
Yes, I was at KU around that time frame and went to some games, including the game against Nub when KU won something like 73-42. Firing Mangino because some players got their feelings hurt set the program back 10+ years. Glad to see them back at a solid level!

Also if I recall from Mountain Worst fans and alumni from the MWC schools they all said the games between KU vs UNLV and UCLA vs Boise State were close. No they were not. I said that the MWC was not and has not been the best G5 conference for a long time. It is still the AAC followed by the SBC gaining significant ground and could take over this fall. And then you have the top teams in MAC and CUSA that are better. MWC as a whole better than CUSA and MAC but not at the top.

Very Happy and relieved that My Alma Mater won their bowl game and played very well but game feels controversial with the amount of flags thrown but even that couldn’t stop Kansas from winning this game

As an ISU fan, I'm thrilled KU is back. (Except when you beat ISU this year ) I see the original B8 teams becoming the new upper crust of the new B12. (Not sure yet whether I think Colorado should be included in that) ISU, OSU, KSU and now KU are so much better than those outside the B12 realize. So glad KU is proving they are ready to play with the big boys once again!
This is exactly why I’ve always been against legalization of sports betting nationwide. We will see more of these problems going forward. Just watch.
How do you start highlights with the score already 28-10? ESPN that's how. They are not only biased to certain teams but incompetent.

They do all of they’re editing with an AI now, did an internship with them once😂 complete lack of caring on games like these they just send it into the bot and let it do it’s thing. It messes up id say 75% of the time. And what’s even crazier is a human could edit this in the same time the computer could. Still takes about 5-10 minutes to process through the AI.

Whats so remarkable about this game is KU started two drives inside their own five. It made no difference. They win going away despite almost two hundred yards in penalties. That offense is so prolific.

@@irishron4861KU averaged only 4.5 penalties per game this season. Getting flagged 11 times in a 17 minute span should make anybody wonder what's up with the refs....and not just against KU. They flagged both teams for over 300 yds combined. That's either being way way way too picky or they've been bought by bettors.

How are you guys a professional sports network, you jumped from the opening kickoff of the game to the opening kickoff of the 3rd quarter and then back to the first quarter again. Someone needs to learn to double check their work!

Less than halfway through, and Kansas's entire offense was chunk the ball up deep for grabs right into perfect coverage and cross your fingers, and pray they come down with it. The second part of their offense was, hopefully, the UNLV players are dumb enough to leave the best receiver on offense wide open.
UNLV's offense was similar, except they added; When panicked, just throw into triple and quadruple coverage.
Defense was completely optional.
One of the funnest bowls this season !

Wish it could have been a TD but only by on-side players behind the kicker as he/she kicks the ball in order to run to get a 1st down or a score.
Off-side players, while I wish could touch the ball if the returner fails to (somehow), they have to face a 5 yard penalty (so next play from 7 yard line, not 2) and no score.
