Shackles last days

I just found out from the vet today Shackles has a large tumor in his abdomen about the size of a small cantaloupe very enlarged heart and it's been having difficulties losing weight the vet wanted to put him down today but I want to wait to let a few people that love him say goodbye to him and he's doing okay right now but not great.
I got shackles 2011 July 13th from the pound he was at the pound twice he made it through death row twice I trained him to be my service dog he could open and close my door pick up my cane my keys my wallet anything I drop a bottle of water not bad for a little dog He's off lish trained when you're in a wheelchair you don't need a leash I'm going to do a video daily I want to feed him steak and treat him the best I can if you would like you could go watch old videos and see what he can do please do He's the best ever most remarkable dog thank you bye.

I am very sorry to hear the terrible news, Pete. Losing a dog is the hardest thing that I have been through in this life so far including some regular bad life stuff. Shackles has been a great dog and companion.

He seems fine. How could the doctor reccomand such a thig at this stage?
