    As a old timer its Gorilla proof gear for me 100%. It's my life on the line so the extra weight is ok I just go slower but still going on Expeditions at 60+ so Gorilla proof must work for me anyway, The right equipment for the right task and environment. Thanks for the video and God bless 🙏 hugs 🤗 To the youngsters that count grams and think that know everything and are Indestructible keep learning I have never stopped learning and I count Years experience not grams. Be safe life is short.

      100%. Even though I don't like the bulkiness of the MSS, I'd trust my life in it in any cold weather conditions. It saved my life twice already! Probably more times that wasn't even aware of. I have slept in it down to below and down to 30 below with the wind.

      Thanks, the big black isn't with us anymore unfortunately. He was old and his health was bad, he was laid to rest in March. The little brown one is Kai, a Vishla, he's a service dog and he's very smart, funny, and loving.

    I picked up the system. but with the black bag. I think its great and very practical.

    It's my favorite sleep system. It works. That's all know from experience. People have videos trying to make sales with other sleeping bags but this is it if you want a proven sleep bag.

      Damn right! I've slept in it in negative temps in sweats and a tshirt. Couldn't even zip it all the way or I'd sweat

    The ECW bag is a light grey. You can also buy, a jacket, and pants, part of their cold weather gear.

    I’ve got 3, the entire system is bulky when together but I wouldn’t be without them.

      I agree 100%. Bulky, heavy, but I wouldn't trust anything else. I have no problem sacrificing the space and weight knowing I am good to go with this beast. Thanks for watching friend

    I love mine. In the winter I just rock with the bivy, the intermediate bag, and a poncho liner that I've put snaps all around the edges. Only thing that drives me nuts is that it takes up 75% of the volume of my bug out bag lol.

    • @ravencreekoutdoors7775
      @ravencreekoutdoors7775  ปีที่แล้ว

      ABSOLUTELY 100% AGREE! I love it, but it does take up more space than all my gear. Plus I have a ring tuff sleep mat but I hardly carry it because it's as big as the MSS.

    Damn things look aweful thin to me.

    • @ravencreekoutdoors7775
      @ravencreekoutdoors7775  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The bivy is thin, the patrol bag is normal, the intermediate bag is thicker, and if you find the extreme cold weather bag it's pretty thick. It's rated for -30F, if you put a layer or 2 on correctly you can go to -50F. I've slept in it -16, -30 with the wind chill.

    • @ravencreekoutdoors7775
      @ravencreekoutdoors7775  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They are somewhat thin, which is nice to squish em down small and extremely warm. In -16F I could not zip it up all the way or I would sweat and I only wore a tshirt, wool socks, and sweat pants. I switched to shorts.

    • @highonimmi
      @highonimmi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What’s so amazing about this system is when coupled with the extreme/cold weather clothing it is insanely warm! People don’t understand this system is for use out in the open if needed (shallow foxholes, trenches etc.). I carry the outer gortex bivy and use it with a 0* 850 goose down big Alice bag w/insulated air mattress. Very toasty…lightweight and durable.

    • @ravencreekoutdoors7775
      @ravencreekoutdoors7775  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just the 3 piece I have (I don't have the extreme cold weather bag) is warm as hell at -30F. I couldn't keep it zipped all the way or I'd sweat. I was only wearing wool socks and a pair of sweats and no shirt. These bags are awesome. My brother did 4 combat tours using one and swears by it.
