Yes they do, there is certainly conflicting info online, with some people saying that they don't rot and die, and some saying they do. In our experience, we see many that are covered in rot and eventually die.
They are like steelhead. They can return to spawn for several years, but they eventually die. So you’ll see some that are in good shape, and others which aren’t.
@@PierMichiganFishing it’s not just age that will cause them to die. Many male Atlantics will fight so much that they die from damage, disease and exhaustion. All Atlantics can reproduce several times but some always die from the stress of the process. That one fish you were questioning was a female Coho 100%. Cool spot you have found.
It's actually some of the most fun we have fishing, and you don't see in the clips because we edit it out but we breathe the fish for minutes at a time between shots.
Please can you do a collab with monster Mike?
I second this
You guys fishing Lexington?

Is the ice to thick to easily bust now?
It may be, last time we were here we had to use rocks and a giant piece of driftwood to break it lol the net wasn't enough
Atlantics don’t rot away and die after spawning like kings and cohos do

do the females not school with the males?
They do, they are just far more reluctant to bite for some reason. Thanks for watching!
😂 you missed out when there wasn't Ice and they were fresh n chrome coming in , they barely alive after spawning now
Haha it seems it's open water everyday we aren't there!
You really have to open your mouth Andrew lol let the crowds fight the rotting fish and keep the chrome time to yourself!
That looks so boring and you keep the fish out of the water way too long
