These teams are trying not to have their star players get injured in a game that does not affect the standing nor the playoff matchups

This game had no meaning for the playoffs for Indiana who were already locked into the 6th seed. It is a little surprising the starters played even as much as they did. In the NBA you'd see teams in Indiana's position not play any of their star players at all.
It hurts to see this kind of defense, Indiana's centers can't jump to save their lives, half of their fouls come from half-assing the jump and hitting the hand instead of the ball...If they don't fix this, second round is the most they will do this season.

Let me use Caitlin Clark as an example, in her last five games before this one, here are the minutes she played in each: 36, 45, 38, 34, 36. In this game Caitlin Clark only played 20 minutes, which is just a little over half of the typical time she plays. This was not the Fever putting 100% into this game. Congrats to the Mystics for getting the win, but half of the people here in the comments really didn't catch on as to what happened this game.

Last game of the regular season, with no relevance to the Fever in terms of seeding, in that case why would you risk your starters any more than you have to before the playoffs? I'm kind of surprised Indiana's starters played at all.

For everyone here saying that the Mystics beat the Fever as if it mattered, let me explain this to you, the Fever didn't play their starters anywhere near the amount of time they usually do, they are resting their stars a bit this game with the playoffs coming up. Let me use Caitlin Clark as an example, in her last five games before this one, here are the minutes she played in each: 36, 45, 38, 34, 36. In this game Caitlin Clark only played 20 minutes, which is just a little over half of the typical time she plays. This was not the Fever putting 100% into this game. Congrats to the Mystics for getting the win, but half of the people here in the comments really didn't catch on as to what happened this game.
