Thank you for sharing your experience Trevor and Thank You so much for being with your Mom! A lot of us think the world of her. Love to both of you from Montana ❤
I can't have any of the surgeries for medical reasons. I have been doing a bariactric diet as though I did have surgery. 59 pounds gone in a year with 57 pounds to go. It's a big life change and is permanent. It was overwhelming in the beginning. My Apnea is gone, Diabetes is controlled with no meds. The benefits are way more than regrets. Hugs and love to you both. Proud of you both.
@@CandySmathers yes you do more than exercise. I cannot believe that people cannot not do it with without the op. Trevor's face looks withdrawn. Angela will have to have an operation to remove the loose skin
Thank you Trevor for doing this and explaining a lot of things I appreciate it. I love your mom and sister Carolyn and Oliver, other sisters and her husband and love y’all all the kids all the grandkids we just love yall❤
Hello Trevor. Material. Mom’s son. lol. I’m glad you have had such a wonderful success with this surgery and that you’re feeling great and all the extra weight related health problems are now gone. You look great and you’re such an inspiration for your mom. So nice of you to escort her down and back and be her go to throughout her journey and recovery. I’m an RN of 30 1/2 years and this is the only time I’ve heard of this particular gastric surgery. Especially one that isn’t related to all the horrifble after surgery troubles and weight gain back if people kinda fall off the wagon so to speak. It sounds pretty safe and both you and mom say it’s not that painful postop which is good also. I like that you are kept for 3 nights and more if needed. Congratulations on your progress and I am wishing mom all the very best for a speedy and healthy recovery on her journey for weight loss. I’m sure she is gonna be feeling so much better in a few short weeks to the months to come. I do want to research this just to stay abreast of this latest surgery so I can hopefully enlighten someone someday to this option. Safe travels back home to you guys ❤.
Really informative and great food for thought. Thank you, Trevor. You look so healrhy and well. Hope your mum enjoys the same success. Love and best wishes from Brisbane, Australia 😊❤
Thank you, Trevor for explaining the whole process! I would love to have it done too! You are such a good son, and I know Angela is very proud of you! Praying you both get home safely, and Angela does well in recovering from her surgery! Thank you again!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Interesting to hear from Trevor about this. I totally get why people want to do this. How much does something like this cost. I realize there are different surgeries, but ball park would be appreciated. I know someone who might be interested in getting this help.

Hi Trevor!❤ Just be careful not to lose too much weight. As we get older, too much weight loss makes us look older. Great hearing about your experience.
Thanks for telling us in layman's terms. Hope Mum recovers as you have. I'm 2yrs younger than her and was considering it I'm 5ft and 160 lb apparently puts me in obese category. I wish I could have known what was going on in my body. This last few months I've had my gall bladder out and 4 weeks later a heart attack. Covid and chronic pain rendered me pretty immobile, I don't drink, smoke, eat junk food, my only downfall is exercise, which was never an issue, I was a ballet dancer and then always did some form of excercise and the gym. Apparently the lining of an artery split and a blood clot formed inducing a heart attack, I don't have blocked arteries or anything. I always watch Mum and will be inspired to try and do it the hard way and drop weight with her but given the option I'd go with the op👍
Plus you save a ton of money because you aren't going to the doctor all the time. Plus you save on your food bill. Thanks for sharing Trevor. Happy new year to both you and Angela 🎉🥂
We've been meat based for over 4 yrs now, some call it "carnivore diet", & that's great but we don't consider it a "diet" per say. It's been the most natural, amazing & massively healing lifestyle change we ever could have made~ it's like aging in reverse, in a nutshell. There's SO much in the way of benefits, it would take forever to list them all. plus, it's all available, since so many have changed the way they eat, usually starting with ketogenic eating, then a rather natural next step is animal only/mostly. We spent a very long time researching all aspects, & I'm so glad we did~ highly recommend. Most of our reasoning was exactly the realities Trevor mentions here, the GMO, hormonally altered/injected franken-foods that pass for edible in our food supply these days. In addition, the sleep apnea/BP/heart/pre-diabetes meds my husband was on~ now all gone. Also, the mental health benefits are stunning~ never in my whole life have I been so even-keeled, joyful to wake up every day, clear headed & full of energy~ that's part of what I mean by aging in reverse. The physical strength, muscle structure & flexibility is amazing too. Plus, we get to eat the 'star of the show' every single day, no more filler foods, & I don't even want or think about any other foods anymore, it's fantastic. Never feel cheated in any way, because protein & animal fats are so truly satiating. I think it's wonderful we have so many options for improving our health & our lives like this. This particular surgery you're doing is absolutely one of the only ones I've ever heard about with these kinds of success rates~ & lack of side effects. It's so important to do your own research, & that's exactly what most serious folks do. Personally, praying about such a matter is equally- if not more- important, imho. Really appreciate you taking us along with you, as many people will hear more of the real life details from both age groups, both genders. Which is why it's so great that you are both sharing your experiences~ very thoughtful of you Angela & Trevor.
This Is Trevor. I completely agree with you. I have never felt better than I did before this surgery as I did with the carnivore. It was night and day different than eating “regular”. The new lifestyle after this surgery is to eat primarily protein based foods which is very similar to carnivore which is part of why I think I feel so good now. I highly recommended carnivore to anyone. Clear headed and energy levels I’ve never felt as an adult!

Come back after 5 years. Your story will change. I have several friends that have had that. Surgery will not change your willpower to put food in your mouth. All of my friends and family have gained their weight back after 4 or 5 years. And stretch their stomach back out. 7 months is not enough time for you to know how long term success you have. They did tell him that only 25% of people have one of the problems he had. These surgeries are like most and they do have some risks with them.
There are many different types of surgery. I would highly doubt any had the duodenal switch surgery and gained their weight back. They must likely had the sleeve to regain the weight. 20 years studies of this surgery type show much different results than you are speaking of. But I guess time will tell.

I guess I would have to rethink how to talk about it positively without sounding that way. Might be hard to do.
Please don’t tell them they need a hamburger there to eat the hamburger and french fries metabolism is crazy they were in the washroom an hour later they can’t keep the weight so saying to someone and I’m gonna say it oh you’re fat oh you’re skinny it means the exact same thing I’m 55 years old I know
