U should play this game called renegade platinum, it's very similar to emerald kaizo and this game, but instead of battles being unfair due to levels and gimiks, it just has much more competitive teams. Seems like something u would want to play!

I know i am a bit late to the party but its completely fine to count gift pokemon as different from that routes encounter, infact its pretty common to count gift and static pokemon as their own unique encounters from the routes they may be found on, especially in Drayano hacks, you need every advantage you can get doing a nuzlocke.
Ive spoken to my editor and we will be more mindful of this. It also has to do with how I filmed it so give it until Ep4 to see a massive change (i already filmed 1-3) but we'll work on it!
Personally I think it's fine with the skipping of random pokemon encounters (non trainers). But trainer battles I'd like to see everything just for the purpose of watching it.

Steve Irwin, the totodile Hunter.
I used to watch it all the time.
IIRC, Totodile can learn Ice Fang at level 20. This will be super useful for both the rival battles and several gyms.
And Nimbus was born to be a true legend
