How to safely use dual Sim with micro SD card in a hybrid slot [Hands-on Guide]

- It's February 2020 and some OEMs are still manufacturing Hybrid slot for 2 sims or Sd card + Sim. In this short video, we shall safely guide you (hands-on) how to convert your Hybrid slot to dedicated 2 sims + Sd card in the same hybrid slot.
The difference between this and other similar videos is SAFETY! We took the time to explain 4 safety measures you must adhere to safely carry out this simple process.
To do this, you will need:
1) A nail file
2) Lighter
3) Light Glue (Evostick)
File off the bump at the back of the sd card gentle
Do not force the sim card micro cheap, just apply little heat to the plastic side
Use a light gum in case you later want to separate them again.

Will this work on a regular, single sim Galaxy Note 10 Plus? It has a slot with one sim and one micro SD.
Or do I need to have the dual SIM model?

There could be but I have no idea. I only tested this on my Xiaomi redmi Note 5 Ai running custom Android 10 Rom. I can't say for Samsung A52 because i don't own the device
yeah, i have zenfone laser 2 and it has dedicated sd slot and both sims.
i wonder why those manufacturers just do it like this, especially on more expensive phone.
It made me choose Realme X2 over X2pro and saved me extra $120 then. I always use SD cards that's where I store my music library and considering that there is always poor network services in my country, 2 Sim is a must at all times.

I'm having problem with my SD card since now I bought a new phone and while putting in the SD card the front part (golden lines ) slightly protrudes up so I cant push it inside and shut it and therefore can't use my SD card in my new phone.
You'll have to take it to a phone shop for checks

I want to know if every s8plus supports 2sim
Not all S8plus models supports dual Sim. And remember, this is only applicable to devices that use 1 sim/sdcard or 2 sims only slots. Won't work on other ports
If you just add the second nano simcard without the micro sd . Will it work
Will work in most Android phones but few years ago, Samsung added an update to make it not work in some of their phones
If I try this on my Samsung note 20 ultra will both SIM cards be live to receive calls ?

In Android dual Sims, only one card can receive call per time. But both are capable of receiving calls at different times. If you phone works with two sims or one sim with SD card, it will likely work

If the device have a hybrid slot - 2ims or a sim and SD card then yes, it can work

@@SmartDepot tried it and followed your guide, the sd card is still tight after filing. i think the s10 slot is too tight, going to try something else. my tray s got stock. and need to root to enable the 2sim getting a message "something is in the tray should not be there " something like that. thanks

The caution ⚠ in the video - if the tray feels too tight, do not push it in so it doesn't get stuck. The reason to file down the edge of the SD card.
Were you able to get the sim tray out? Maybe you can try with some midrange phones first. You are brave to do that with an s10 but as you know life favors the brave

Can you do it the other way around and modify the phone instead of the cards that you put in the phone?
Don't even think about modifying your phone for this. And this method only works for hybrid sim ports

Luckily my phone, an old crappy A6 Plus 2016 can do 3 cards. 2 sim and one sd

It should work for every phone that allows one sim/sdcard or 2 Sims only
doesn't work on samsung note 10+plus dual sim...it won't go in the slot without force for some reason...sanded down the bump, lined up the sim on the sd card several times :( even tried on another phone i had....i bought the simore dual sim adapter years ago but i don't like how you have to switch phone lines

Samsung did deactivate this in some of their Flagship phones due to complains of stucked sim cards some years back
You may have to try as I cannot tell which Samsung Flagship phones it can work with or not

Hello, is it still working today ( 2022 january) with a galaxy s9 dual sim?
I was doing it in note 8 but it stopped working after an update.. I don't remember which version. I think from android 9 to 10. Samsung stopped this to work, but it was working again if you root phone and done some software changes.. Google it.
Not working on a52s 5g. Because the android 11 on a52s just perfer for the sd card and ignore the sim 2

You should mention that the phone needs to be turned off when putting in or taking out sim and SD cards. Cool hack though.
You are right. For safety sake and best mobile network performance, always turn off the phone before removal

There's no way to expand the two sim and one SD card. The system only made allocation for 2 Sim and one SD card.

Yes. Device had a double sim card slot or 1 sim card 1 sd card option.

@@co4724 It's not working because Google has restricted the use of 2 sim cards and 1 memory card. Has nothing to do with how tight it is. Android restricts this hack even on the hybrids for some stupid reason. You can bypass this by rooting your phone. In conclusion, does not work on unrooted phones with Android 9 or 10.

You don't need to file the bump
I've tried it in several devices, filing the bump makes it easier to insert and remove considering the sim card chip create a little bump. It's a very important safety measure to avoid sim slot getting stock inside the phone or damage to sim ejector

Who needs 2 sim cards anyway!? I thought it meant either sim or sd but you have 2 slots. One for a sd and one for the SIM

In Nigeria 🇳🇬, we use two Sims out of necessity and inevitability of one network disappointing you when you need them most... 😂 I run data plans in two separate GSM networks. Two sim is a normal life style here

I tried it and it worked in two different Android devices so, yes, it is legit. It applies only to hybrid sim slots.
