Boss CP 1X Compressor W/Acoustic Guitar

This is a video sharing my Boss CP-1X Compressor that I'm using with my acoustic guitar. I'm using on my pedal board much the same as you would. So along with the CP-1X I also have a Boss EQ-200 and a Boss RV500 set with just a little bit of plate reverb for some flavor. I'm using my sons Martin Ed Sheeran acoustic.

The Level knob does not adjust input level, it adjusts output level. The Ratio knob is not a Release control, it is a Ratio control. Ratio sets how much the compressor compresses, once it starts to compress. At a Ratio of 3:1, the compress will reduce level by 3 dB for every 1 dB it rises above the Threshold. The Comp knob is not a Blend knob, it is a Threshold knob.

Ok am I thinking right the compressor will lower the notes that are loudes and try to match to the quitest? So works well for sloppy/fast playing where you accedenlty hit to hard on one string. Dose it only -dB or dose it add dB aswell? Wondering if it would add sustain?

I've personally never used a boss cs 3. I will say this. If you plan on buying the CP1X, imagine this pedal is Tommy Lee and a 9v battery is Pamela Anderson. He's gonna smash that battery so make sure you use a power supply. Thank you for watching!
