intuitive eating is a good book to read and the authors fully acknowledge the privilege they experience as well as the privilege required to engage in intuitive eating. i highly recommend it! for context, i am a fat, black nutritionist who follows intuitive eating for the last few years and did my grad school project on it.
Love that! I still don’t think I’ll personally read it but not trying to deter anyone from reading it, just my personal opinion. Intuitive eating doesn’t work for everyone especially those of us who struggle with disordered eating patterns.
@@SelenaTrevino totally fair (and they acknowledge that it's not for everyone, as well), but just wanted to point out for anyone on the fence about reading it, that it's not just another completely tone deaf book about having discipline and being on a diet.

If you haven't sold the Nespresso I would definitely recommend keeping it. For me, after a while it got tiring following all the steps when I wanted a quick latte. Especially when the shots come out bad and you have to recalibrate.

~~Love the house girl! If I may make a suggestion, in your room I noticed that you dont have closet doors, so maybe get a rod to go across the length of the closet and put up a curtain of your aesthetic to go with your room and voila, much more aesthetic. Also, I would keep the Nespresso for if you have company and your guests dont really like espresso but regular coffee, youll have that on hand, just keep it in your storage area. Great video. I subscribed! ~~
I also have this machine. It’s my third espresso machine and I love it so much and is by far my fave. I like the flexibility (you can be as hands on or automatic as you want), how user friendly it is, it’s beautiful but most importantly makes great espresso. I def use the auto function more but trying not to be. Either way the end result is pretty great. There’s a reason why this machine is so popular!

A tip with the breville, getting the freshest beans is a huge help, I always recommend to check the date the bag was roasted. 😊

What are your thoughts on someone taking a solo trip to Portland? I just want to go and try all the coffee, restaurants, and visit the book store lol but people keep scaring me about the area. I was born and raised in Los Angeles so I feel like I know how to stay safe but would love to hear your thoughts! Also my mom made us clean on Saturdays growing up so I feel like Saturday cleaning makes sense lol
You’ll honestly love it here, I think! If you grew up in LA, Portland is nowhere near to the same extent tbh. Yes there’s a drug problem, but that’s true in all big cities and it’s def worst in LA/NYC, so if you feel safe traveling there you’ll likely feel the same level of safety in Portland. Of course, it’s important to take precautions and be careful no matter where you travel especially when traveling solo! But I do think ppl make it out a to be a lot worst than it actually is.

Yeah I also had the “shades” on my lens, so that’s my bad 🥹 and also the gloomy weather just makes it darker here in general. I don’t like how harsh it looks with the lights on, that’s why I honestly didn’t ever feel like filming during the winter bc it was just gloomy daily 😭😭

enjoyed the video as usual but I wanted to scream NO DON'T BUY IT when I saw you two pick up "The Mountain Is You". If you have Spotify premium you can listen to it for free and will likely discover what I did: it's full of empty platitudes and declarations akin to, "you need to train your mind to do XYZ" but no real concrete ways to make these changes; so unhelpful. Zero stars, would not recommend! lol
