Their sound is so bright and crisp. It's a sound all their own, but I think of it as Rush mixed with Queen with a little Styx and The Fixx thrown in. I was cranking "On the Loose" in my car in the early 80s. Now, as an old codger, I'm listening to more of their music and discovering how great they really are. I listen to their CDs from start to finish... it's all great.
I was there, back in the day. I was getting into synths, and played in a band with a few of my buddies. We were always the first there at high school gigs and mid size venues in TO, so Michael asked us if we wanted to help load in a few times. Got to handle some of Rush's equipment when they loaned it to them. He even showed me how they pulled off some of the studio effects live. Great band... so many memories.
As good today as they were in the 80's! A tribute to REAL musicians! Bravo SAGA!
The drums in this mix are brilliant, what a great overall sound the band had here! Classic track.
Saga are one of the best bands live. For me, Mr. Salders voice has got better as the years roll on.
