@@obiektywny_turysta I had to delete my whole Linux system and install it again, I don't highly recommend if you have stuff in your linux files
@@obiektywny_turysta if you really want to run an EXE file then delete your Linux and install it again, then once you finally installed Linux; your main priority is to install Wine first, if it doesn't work then use my code, I download an old version of wine that runs exe well.

one the last step i was met with /usr/bin/winecfg: 46: exec: /usr/bin/wine: Exec format error... what does this mean, and can i still use wine as expected? i also just realized on the last line of code it told me inputting Processing triggers for libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0:i386 (2.42.2+dfsg-1+deb11u1) ...

So their are a 64 bit version of chrome os,that is all Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU. Wine and crossover, the first two methods, requires it.
32 bit is all Chromebooks with a mediatek, rockchip or snapdragon CPU. The last 3 methods should work for you. But apponfly and shadow pc are paid. unfortunately. The last is cloud gaming which works with a free or paid plan. Both good!
Otherwise what applications were you hoping to install with windows friend? There might be good alternatives available friend

hi i have a 64 bit hp chromebook but when I put in the last two commands it doesnt work. after the second to last command it says The following packages have unmet dependencies:

my linux container size was 7.7 gb.
i didnt get this error when installing a windows application but i got it when i was installing wine. i got the error after putting this command in the terminal ( sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable winbind nemo )

If you run windows in a virtual machine with apponfly or shadow,yes. But both the methods are paid.

That normally doesn't work well with wine to be honest on a Chromebook. Does the games have seperate download links?
Did you rename the installer to
package.exe
And moved it to your Linux files in your file manager? Hope it helps!

Ah, yes, that is sadly the problem,you need a Chromebook with a 64bit version, a Chromebook with an Intel or AMD CPU.

So their are a 64 bit version of chrome os,that is all Chromebooks with an Intel or AMD CPU. Wine and crossover, the first two methods, requires it.
32 bit is all Chromebooks with a mediatek, rockchip or snapdragon CPU. The last 3 methods should work for you. But apponfly and shadow pc are paid. unfortunately. The last is cloud gaming which works with a free or paid plan. Both good!
Otherwise what applications were you hoping to install with windows friend? There might be good alternatives available friend

Roblox will lag a lot the PC version friend. If you install it directly on your Chromebook,it might run better, when you rent a windows cloud computer,but it is paid though..

Basically,you have to remove the Linux container,every two weeks from your Chromebook's settings, where you enabled it.
All your Linux files and Linux applications will be lost and reinstall everything.
Chrome os remains the same.
It is a hassle but the only legal way besides from buying it. Hope it helps

Crossover was upgraded. Choose to install it as an unlisted program at the top
Is the installer in your Linux files in your file manager?
Crossover will give you options, after choosing to install it, to choose the installer and a name of the package and version of windows which you would like to use
I am not sure if the game will work

Do you have any other Linux applications installed?
The easiest way is to remove the Linux container from your Chromebook's settings, where you enabled it. You will find an option there. All your Linux files and Linux applications will be lost.
You can always enable it in the future again,if you like

You need atleast 8gb for your Linux Apps to install wine

So far I've done a few projects in FL Studio on the Steam Deck and everything works fine. If you're super into Linux stuff, the Steam Deck is a must have. I bet you'd get a ton of views doing guides for the Steam Deck too!

And here are the methods that work on 32 bit Chromebooks.
Wine *does not work* on 32 bit Chromebooks.
Crossover *does not work* on 32 bit Chromebooks
Shadow *does workish* on 32 bit Chromebooks, but is not recommended as it is locked behind a massive paywall.
AppOnFly *does work* on 32 bit Chromebooks, but you only get to run Windows 10 for a certain amount of time, so not recommended
GeForce Now *should work* on 32 bit Chromebook, although it is still paid, but you get 6 hours of playtime each day, so when 1 hour expires, just refresh and GeForce Now should work.
