i remember when Al Bellotto owned the cattle ranch. He was my baseball coach in the early 70's and I remember going out on the ranch.

Our black bellied whistling duck population has absolutely skyrocketed. So many of them. Love the sounds they make.

Lived about 35 miles from this place .Thanks for sharing. Love seeing all the healthy beautiful birds. Gators are part of Florida. As in a log of other states.
That was a good size Gator. The wind with these cold mornings can feel much colder than normal. Happy safe hiking FTB
    You’re the real deal.

An absolutely remarkable place. Nature at its best in Florida. Don't forget about old Hunchback out there somewhere.

Love Circle B. I live down the street from it. I did a painting of the Heron Hideaway near the main building. Endless wildlife to see there. Thank you for sharing.

I love this terrain. I grew up over in Pasco County, but spent a lot of time out in the woods near Lake Hancock.
So much natural beauty. So happy it still exists.
Thanks for bringing it to us.

What a treat for you to see a Bald Eagle 🦅 FTB! Have you ever watched the live cam of the eagles nest in Fort Myers and Titusville? Thanks for taking us along on another great hike

I’m from winter haven Florida and from Bartow I’ve been going here all my life I now live in Cleveland Ohio but was luckily able to visit here summer 2023 when I visited my family we almost got attacked by breeding gators made it out fine but it’s different when I used to walk this place back in 2010 compared to now they got rid of the dock that went out in to the lake where at one point me and my now wife once witnessed 36 gators 🐊 in the water back in 2010

How cold was it there that you are wearing gloves? I am near Ft. Lauderdale, and last night it was in the 40Fs. Beautiful wilderness preserve.

There used to be a huge number of ducks wintering there. Then they killed off all of the vegetation and the lake turned florescent green and the wildlife left. There were also many eagles spending time there and they went to find new homes. Still a peaceful place to visit but a shadow of its past.

Surprised to see that there’s nobody on the trails. Normally it’s packed of photographers and tourists!
