So many people are like "I wanna go back..." but as much as these memories are incredible, y'all need to focus on the here and now of present day. Keep the memories alive but don't live in the past, it's easier to appreciate what you have right now before it's gone.
Could not agree more. The past always seem better as you tend to only remember the good times. One should be happy where you are in life, take the lessons learned in the past and apply it to the future. Make more of the memories, enjoy life and see the good in the present.
Damn, such amazing words to live by. It's great seeing you here, actually, I'd never thought to see you here at all, but nonetheless, you're absolutely right. There's a reason why we may never go back to experience the past, like it originally was. Although, while the future may seem dark and bleak for some of us, I guess the only thing to do is to look forward, and keep pressing on. Not like anyone can stop that from happening, so we can all relieve our childhoods. But hey, even though playing Minecraft now may never feel like how it was back when we were kids, nothing is going to stop how everyone can live through the future, and leave the past how it was, to be completely untouched, and stay innocent. Those days only feel less special if you do go back, the more you appreciate and engage in them the more they’ll feel normalized. This feeling is everything to me, so if I were them I’d keep it alive.

I remember playing split screen MC with my dad and little brother on the xbox 360 for hours one day. Then… our xbox overheated and we had to start over. Sad and funny but I loved every moment.

In 2014, I was 11 years old, and would regularly fall asleep on the couch playing minecraft. I'd miraculously wake up in bed (love you mom) and be up bright and early ready to start the new day. goto school, play, come home and do whatever, and hop on minecraft with my friends. I haven't spoken to those friends since 2014-2015. I hope they're doing alright. Miss you Cal and josh.

I was 10, and pretty much every weekend since I was around 2 years old, my parents drove up to our ski house in Vermont. During Christmas, we'd stay up there for a few weeks longer, and I'd sit and play minecraft on the TV with my two other siblings while the fire was roaring, we were all in our little onesies, and my dad was making some nice dinner while my mom was finishing wrapping up the gifts.
We still have those onesies, and we get new ones to fit us, and it's been a tradition. Not with the minecraft, but just sitting by a blazing fire on Christmas day while opening gifts, laughing, and reminincing about the past.
I remember when my iPod had minecraft pocket edition, and me and my brother would play all the time during car rides. Him, the more engineering one, would design these amazing contraptions out of redstone while I stuck with my architectural skills in buildinig these mansions.
Those maps of 1's and 0's may be gone forever, but I won't ever forget the moments I had with minecraft.

It’s crazy that as kids, we couldn’t imagine hating ourselves, or even the subject of depression, now I’m 19 in college and I see now how it’s possible, I regret not actually taking in those moments that I’d wake up hoping for a snow-day, turning on the tv, and seeing that school was canceled, running to the basement in my pajamas just to play Minecraft in some blankets.
Don't regret, just remember. And know that there will be better days to come. I know that sometimes it can be really hard, but I promise you things will feel better in time. Someday, you might look back on the days you have today and remember them fondly, and wish to go back. But remember that memories are always better observed. I was diagnosed with major depression when I was very young. But looking back on my life, especially around the time Minecraft released, since it's on the topic, I never remember the bad times as often. I just remember the games I played, my brother, and how much easier things were. I won't lie to you, I do wish I could've enjoyed those moments more, but deep inside I am just happy those moments happened. Cherish the moments you have now too, the mind tends to look back on old times fondly. Remember you are loved, and you have the strength to get through everything. I hope you are doing well, and have a good day.

Reading everyones comments really touches my heart. I'm 35, i never played minecraft on my own, except with my kids. I played animal crossing, stardew valley, and many more with them. They are both turning 18 and 13 next month. I remember helping my kids build our first fort, trying to survive the night. Beautiful memories. Remember, all good things and bad things will pass. Appreciate the good while it lasts, and know the dark hours are not forever.

I was 20 years old back in 2014, and I never played Minecraft all that much. But my little brother was about 7 at that time and he was obsessed with this game. I have fond memories of hearing this calming music float through the house, and occasionally he would excitedly show me cool things he created in his worlds.
I was an adult going through college, working, playing different games, falling in love for the first time and generally just living my own life, but hearing these half-forgotten songs from a distant era takes me back to when things were simpler and I got to live vicariously through my brother’s childlike joy.
A lot of you have become teenagers and young adults now, but you’re still young. Take it from someone who’s about to be 30: live in the moment. Realize how young you still are and how things still are simple compared to the real world. And enjoy every moment :)

it's everything about this time period, this game, that feeling of the unknown, the sheer excitement and exploring of unknown every single time you booted the game up. The soundtrack, the ambience, the bonds and friendship this game created is something I will forever be grateful for. Sometimes I just wish I was 11 years old again, we were truly free back then.

I would always play minecraft whenever I went to my grandma's house. She'd play the piano or teach others to; I remember being in the rain braving the darkness, building a house out of sand and realizing it had physics watching my sister do the same with gravel, trying to build a moat without buckets. But any time I think about the music from minecraft I think about my grandma playing the piano. I miss her.

I was 8 years old when i first discovered Minecraft and i instantly fell in love with this game.
I used to play with my friends and my dad on my old PS3, i loved plaing the battle mini-game and building houses out of diamond blocks.
I also loved plaing in the tutorial and in the themed maps like the Chrismas and the Halloween ones.
It was such a good time.
Now i'm 14, and Minecraft is still my favourite game, it will forever be.

I'm 23 and started playing in 2011. I remember getting the Xbox 360 edition after getting Java and failing to run it at a non-headache inducing framerate because my old Dell desktop just wasn't good enough for it. I still have the Xbox hard drive with those worlds on them, the drive itself failed but I might go into looking into fixing it through a recovery service now that I'm remembering all those worlds on it.
I remember this sick world me and my brother played for months that had a complex ravine base. Would love to get that one back most of all.
I believe I was 4 or 5 it was a birthday gift for me at the time, I'd seen TH-cam players playing it and I got it on my PC, I remember making my first survival world I made with my dad over my shoulder, and I named it Batropolis because I was obsessed with superheroes.

2014, almost nine years ago, I was playing in a creative world in silence, with only the sound of rain to soothe me. I'd be building a giant oak wood house with a huge fenced area where I'd summon around fifty horses. Colored beds and phantoms didn't exist back then, the Minecraft life was simple. My favorite horse was a white one named Snowflake. Minecraft was one of those games where I could play solitude and enjoy myself, building whatever came to mind. I miss those days. I still play every now and then, but it's simply just not the same.

I got Minecraft for the first time. I was so excited, my (now) sister in law, who at the time was dating my brother got it for me. This hit so hard, it’s crazy being a kid a decade ago playing Minecraft with your friends whom are no longer around anymore, growing up and living their own life now.
Man… I so miss my childhood. I am in high school now - life is just not as magical. I just want to be a little kid playing Minecraft all night with my sisters and my cousins, not only that but also things like waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve and being convinced I could hear him on the roof top. Things like that. Now life just feels so stressful and everyone my age just wants to be “cool” and “popular” and I am left behind wanting to be a kid still. I don’t even really have friends like i used to. Growing up is hard 😢
hey - to anyone that sees this, please read. this music brings back memories like nothing else does, i know. it reminds you of when everything was just better, simpler, lighter, happier. it certainly does the same for me. all these great things come to mind when listening to this, but heres the hard part. we cant go back. no matter how much we want to, we just cant we never will. those days are long past us. thats not at all a bad thing, however. its a blessing. we can think back to those things to comfort us when times get hard, but the only thing we can do now is keep moving forward. its gonna be tough, yes. but its our only choice, and we can make the absolute best of it if we choose to. and thats what we gotta do. just keep living life, and enjoy yourself like you did when you listened to these songs for the first time.

in 2011 my dad moved out, minecraft was a good distraction. i remember playing late into the cold December nights. it’s strange how i feel happy and sad at the same time thinking about it.
i’m now a few years into college and i still play minecraft once in a great while, but i know i’ll never get to feel the way i did on those cold nights: playing beta 1.8, snow falling outside, C418’s gentle soundtrack slowly lulling me to sleep.

I know nobody is gonna read this, but I just had to let this feeling off my chest. I had a best friend my whole life and we used to play Cod, minecraft, fortnite, etc together since we were 9 years old. We met in school but what really made us bond was videogames. We used to play every day. As time passed and we became adults, we just stopped playing everyday and just played once or twice a week. Anyways, this guy and I were almost the same, like we were soul buds. He stopped playing completely almost 1 year ago because he has this GF that made him stop interacting with his friends. All this time, I still hoped we were gonna play again some time, but he just told me a few days ago that he is gonna be a father. It hit hard. It made me realize those perfect times with my gaming duo will never EVER come back. We are 23 now and man, nostalgia can hit sooo hard. I came back to this video and cried for 10 minutes straight. Sorry for my english if anybody reads this anytime.

just turned 19 today. i’m now a freshman in college and as i have moved in to school and away from my family and friends at home, i’ve spent a lot of time reminiscing these type of days in my childhood. i’ll never forget the nights when i would beg my parents to sleepover at my friends house, so we could just play minecraft all night and work on our world together. the only concern i had was how my house was coming along and if i was gonna be able to find diamonds, and now all i don’t even have the time to play video games… simpler times man. to anyone who may come across this comment and is still living at home, spend time with the ones around you because life starts to go very fast and you gain a lot more responsibilities in life. enjoy the simple times you are in or once had, but also embrace what life throws at you because we only get to do this once.
I remember also begging my parents so I could go over at my friend's house for sleepover :D the hype was real always when they said yes. The gaming sessions were always amazing.

I remember playing back when they released Minecraft on the 360 and that was the only thing I would play, and for hours on end too. My grandmother used to sit down and watch me as I built anything and everything I desired while giving me ideas as I went along. I'm 22 now and it's been a few years since her passing, yet these songs NEVER fail to bring me back to those times

Back in 2012 on my 10th birthday my mom bought me and xbox 360 with Minecraft and I still remember the moment I spawned in my first world "Sean's Lovely World" (yeah I copied stampy) and finally got to experience the game for myself. Over the next few years my friends and little cousins would play splitscreen with me for hours and hours and build whatever we wanted on that world. I have like 700ish worlds we've made since then, but that first world was everything and it shows the history of the last 10 years of my life. The friends I had/have now, the monuments of family I've lost like my grandmother and my dog, the difference between my shitty house from 2012 and how we got so much better at building over the years. Sadly the world corrupted in October, but I'm glad it was able to make it to my 20th birthday. 10 years of life down the drain, but I'll always have the memories. Anyone who says Minecraft is just a game might not be wrong, but even so that game gave me the best 10 years I could've asked for, here's to the next 10! (Also to whoever is reading this today Merry Christmas or any other holiday you celebrates this week!)
I also used to copy stampy back in 2013 - 2014 when Minecraft was the only game I would play and stampy was my favorite TH-camr. Honestly, he's still probably in my top 10 favorite TH-camrs of all time now that I think about it. I used to think it was spelled stompy and not stampy. Idk why. Perhaps it was his accent that threw me off as a kid 😂. Good times.
I love that no matter where I am in life, Minecraft has been a constant for me to return to. I started when I was 11 and now I'm 22 half way through college. Over ten years I've been playing this game and it hits just as hard.

I’m in college now but me and my day 1 buds still play Minecraft here and there when we’re all free (not often). I’m grateful to be able to still make memories with them, and even though Minecraft isn’t exactly what it use to be, I take advantage of the time I spend with my friends in this cool game. Minecraft genuinely saved me and my brother. Our childhood’s were extreme rough and so when we unwrapped the box containing our first Minecraft disc in 2012 or 2013 we immediately fell in love. We made the ugliest and most confusing glowstone house in Creative, filling it with wolves and ocelots, my favorites, and pigs, my brother’s.
Him and I don’t talk much anymore, as I was abandoned from that house. I don’t ever wish I could go back to that time but I do wish I could just… drift. If that makes sense? I’m attending university now and everyone is always asking what the plan is and what’s next but I just want to *breathe* .
I just want to start Minecraft back up, not the one with the Warden and dolphins and complex caves, I want the Minecraft with no swimming animation, tutorial modes and secrets, and the texture pack worlds.
These songs just stab at my already shattered and broken heart and fill my soul with a sense of nostalgia and grief, because *this* was my only damn childhood, I was a parent to all of my siblings by the time I was 5 and this silly block game -made- makes me so fucking happy.

It’s crazy to me that minecraft really did bring a whole generation of kids together. Creating the most fond memories of our childhood. Now there’s kids these days picking up minecraft and now I’m here in college.

Im only 14 but i believe that you can feel nostalgia when you´re young not because you miss your youth, but bc u miss your YOUNGER youth, because i don´t think "missing the good old days" has to do with your age changing, but rather your life changing and becoming more stressful. For me specifically, i skipped two years of school which means i start serious exams and start to have to think about what i will do in life younger than usual. I just miss the complete freedom and all the amazing memories that also came along with mc from 2014-2018. They were just better times.

Same but with me I was luckily able to have this experience back in 1.16 when it came out. That was the last time I saw one of my best friends online. These last 3-4 years have been really hard on me. For anyone finding this later. Having the time of your life on Minecraft, remember, these days most likely won’t come back, but don’t worry about that, just have fun and don’t worry about school, the future. Just enjoy the moment currently. Don’t try to make extra out of it.

i first started playing mc when i was 6.
I was very lonely growing up.. was homeschooled and isolated most my childhood, and never had friends or any social interaction, parents had jobs and were very busy, sister had her life, and i was just alone. playing with bricks. Minecraft opened up a whole new world the moment I got my hands on it. It helped me, and made me feel free. I'm turning 21 soon, moved from small rural community and now living far away from home in a new city, hoping to find true happiness and closure. Minecraft, thanks for being the childhood I lacked.
as a homeschooled Kid myself, i started playing with my brothers at six or seven, it's started only on teh weekends but it soon became a daily thing. it got me the relationship i have with them now, they were my best friends. we stay up on Christmas eve every year to play Minecraft as a tradition, but Christmas 2023 will be our last since one is getting married and the other to grad school. ill be home alone playing Minecraft on Christmas eve every year, continuing the tradition three homeschooled kids make on a random day.

We each made a big mansion, several pixel art builds, a festival foods and Marcus theaters, the wither storm from mc story mode, Rapunzel's tower, the FNAF 1 location, and so much more.

It's been 12 years since I played this game, and this music still takes me right back there... memories so vivid that it feels like I can reach out and touch them, yet they may as well be from another life, and one of the worst parts about growing older is how these memories pile up and serve as a constant reminder of all of the different times in your life that you wish that you could go back to, but you know that you can't. So cherish and savor every fun moment that you have now, because you'd probably be surprised at what you end up being nostalgic for when you're older.

I’m actually crying, I’m remembering sitting down with my neighborhood friend and playing in our world on my xbox 360. All of our builds, our pets, the lore we created, the times we shared in that world good and bad. I miss those days.

Nostalgia is a feeling that can't quite be described as good or bad. At times, it makes you incredibly happy, happy that you got to experience those good memories. But, at the same time, it makes you incredibly sad that those moments are gone, and you can't relive them for the most part. It almost makes you want to cry, but then you remember the good part about it, and you cheer up almost instantly. That's what makes Minecraft and the feeling of nostalgia itself so special.
I still remember the times when me and my brother would explore the old Xbox 360 tutorial worlds, laughing and having an amazing time. That was 8 years ago. Me and him still reminisce about those times often, and we both wish we could go back to those times.
My friends I played Minecraft with years ago haven't logged onto Xbox in years. Wherever they are, if you're reading this, Grayson and Josh, I hope you guys are having an amazing life.

I remember in 2016 I was 7-8 years old I was a fan of this game, it rocked my childhood. I couldn't stop playing. I remember the cool air on my fingers, arms and legs as well as q than my feet, when it was late at night, I turned on my computer and played Minecraft. I was doing courses, buildings, friends until the early morning. What a beautiful time... I miss it like a desire to go back but what's done and done, I need to turn the page, but sometimes I come back to the game and have fun even if it doesn't have the same feeling anymore. I think it’s so cool how so many people played Minecraft but we each have different core memories of being a little kid and how are life was
