- Video with intermediate Station here: • Detachable 3S LEGO rop...
First video of my new ropeway-system with the new station design.
There are 8 Gondolas running and between the stations I placed 3 masts.
The ropeway is powered by 16 Motors. 8 of them for the conveyor-system, 5 to power the haul-rope, 3 for the two pneumatic valves and compressor.
Those motors are controlled by 2 RCX-Computers programmed in "C" with Bricx. 6 Sensors (blue in the video) are attached.
Two rotation-sensors detect if the rope fell out of a deflection pulley by supervising the differential gearbox located in the center of the stations.
To maintain a constant distance between the gondolas, two light-sensors detect the gondolas and the RCX-Computers slow down the conveyor-system where needed.
The tension of the pulling rope is controlled by 2 pneumatic cylinders. The tension of the rope, respectively the air-pressure is measured by a third rotation-sensor attached to the compressors motor.

I'm not sure if you need to be working for Doppelmayr, Lego, or NASA, but this creation is pure genius!
+Christopher Wyatt I'm sorry, I work as a mechanical engineer for the swiss railways SBB.
+eliasiten How many pieces and how long?
around 10'000 pieces and 300 hours including programming and optimisations ;)
+eliasiten I am working on a proposal for a 3S system here in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, and would love to have you on our team! I hope that it is OK that I plan on including your video here on our website (currently under construction): uptowngondola.org
Hey Christopher
I'm glad you like my videos :) Of course you can include my videos to the website. Thanks!
Pure genius. Takes a whole load of knowledge in cable car design, engineering, and Lego. Awesome work.
One side thing I appreciate about this build is the use of old school studded techniques. Great work, man. :)
Absolutely phenomenal. Inspiration in the making. Thank you from Sunny California, the States
I don't know why TH-cam thought I would like the lego ropeways, but I find it fascinating!
This is so awesome! The mechanism with different speed parts is magnificent and attach / detach the string...
A-MA-ZING!!
The whole structure seems an ingeneering pilot project for a real structure.
The real ropeway actually was my Inspiration to build this model :) More Videos hopefully coming soon! I have built more Features and a new Station but didn't have time so far for the programming-part... ;)
By far the best bit of Lego I have seen
That's fantastic, it has pneumatic actuators!
This is the greatest lego project I've ever seen
I googled how detachable chairlifts actually works and I came up to your video :D Impressive work!
A model of ropeway that costs the same as a real ropeway
Black turbine lol
No were near 🥲
👍👍👍
I like very much the use of classic lego pieces
Thats really cool !! I worked as a welder fabricator and built skilifts for fifteen years .
What company did you work for? Was it great?
It is genius. It looks like a real ropeway-system.
I could watch it for hours, it's impressive ! I love it !!!
Thank you a lot :) I will hopefully soon have time to produce more Videos of the intermediate Station. It will Feature 16 Motors and is about 2meters Long and built out of around 10'000 bricks!
cheers from Switzerland
Hammer geil:D Entspannt irgendwie voll zum zusehen.
Gee, all my childhood I had to build these out of my own imagination. Nowadays, it comes all in a kit with the motors and everything.
that is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life!! thanks!!
thanks! :) Subscribe to my TH-cam-Channel and you will be notified about new videos. Next few month I'm abroad but in summer I will continue with the intermediate station!
I've always wondered how these work, this is perfect! :D
Wie geil ist das denn? :-o
Das lässt meine kleine dampfbetriebene Lego-Seilbahn aus meiner Jugend ganz schön popelig aussehen... ;-)
Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the mechanism of ropeway station and LEGO-Tech, so this work is very very very impressive!!! Nice work!!!
OK THAT IS SWAG AND NOONE CAN BEAT THIS!!!
Wow, surely the best I’ve seen! 👏🏻
amazing model! I love 3S ropeways
Hammer, da will man sofort selber wieder was bauen ,.
If this was offered as a set from Lego, I’d buy it.
Mesmerising!
Thank you!
Okay. This is Epic.
Awesome! I always wanted to have a go at making this myself. Such an outstanding build you've made here! Excellent!
I just thought of an idea of how you can make the chair slow down with your own model ski lift. You will just have to check out my newest upcoming channel that will be linked below when done!
This is insane!
EPIC build!! Thanks for sharing
Well , that will be a BIG construction.
Bloody amazing and mesmerizing. Good job :).
Awsome Design, I need one of these :)
thanks man. Unfortunately it would be really expensive to buy all parts.... 18 motors in this video ;)
its always worth a try! :)
This is so wonderful! Love it!
Simply fantastic!!
Omg!!! I’m going to make this now! Thank you for the idea :)
I’ve been working on it... super hard to make it work properly

You've earned my subscribtion :)
Thanks Mate :)
OMG!!! NICE WORK!!!
All this thing is cool
Das ist ja mega krass
Can you make a video about how the coupling system works?
Hey thanks for your Input! I will think about uploading a Video specifically for the coupling-process... And as soon as I have the time to Programm the intermediate Station there will be more Videos coming !
Lkqksos
So you can edit it
I can explain :p
The grip is really simple
So I was just up at whisler and that was my first time mowing on a gondola and I never searched them up and now I am seeing this
cool - thanks mate! I hope to help People understand how such ropeways work by watching my Videos :)
