Apologies in advance if TH-cam puts ads on this one! It is demonetised due to the copyright music, so TH-cam will be getting the revenue and will probably put a heap of ads in 🥴🥴
@@julesreacts It's a variation on the old getting-yourself-on-the-school-photograph-twice trick. As soon as the camera was off him, he ran around behind it and positioned himself somewhere else.
If I remember right, the cast had heard on the day this scene was being filmed that the show was going to get cancelled. So Nathan did this to try and cheer everyone up, and evidently it worked.
Now I want to see a Reaver reading party. "First they spoil the plot, then they give it a bad review, then they tear all the pages out of the book, and if you're very very lucky, they do it in that order."
@Jules Reacts thank you for doing this. The " Kaley go find that kid whose taking a dirt nap with baby Jesus we're going to need a hood ornament" line gets me every time I have to watch it every time I watch Serenity
"Put Book front center - he's our friend, we should honor him" and "we need a hood ornament" killed me. Nathan can make even the darkest humor work without anyone hating him for it
You should also watch "Done the impossible". A documentary with the cast and creators as well as fans on how Serenity was made. Really emotional and recounts the Firefly and Serenity behind the scenes amazingly well. Sad though...
I applaud you for being the first TH-camr to react to firefly and go this far into reactions including the river interrogations scenes and now this. Very cool 😎
If I remember correctly, they used to (jokingly) blame Summer for anything that went wrong. That is why during the Serenity bloopers they kept calling her name when they screwed up their lines.
So if you listen to the director's commentary for the final episode of Firefly. Joss describes how doing the one take shot that closed the episode, it was often Summer who bungled the shot in some way and she was the last thing, so you can imagine the frustration. The cast and crew were always shouting "Summer!". But then one time it was Nathan who messed up the shot, and he still jokingly called out "SUMMER!" as if it was her fault. And the joke stuck.
It's always a good idea to finish with the bloopers and end on a happy note. The cast and crew clearly had a ball and Nathan, in true captain's fashion, seems to have been the ring leader.
Well, you have now shown me something from Firefly that I have never seen. Thank you so much! If you get into the comics, you should do breakdowns of each issue. I have heard they are truly worth reading.
"Put Book front and center. He was our friend. We should honor him. Kaylee! Find that kid who's taking a dirt nap with Baby Jesus. We need a hood ornament." Way back when, this was where Nathan Fillion made me lose it for several minutes, just as he did with the film crew. :D
Also recommend Con Man which is a show with Alan and Nathan Alan plays an actor who is only really known for a failed but cult sci fi series. It’s pretty short but funny
Wish I could give this more than one like. It's got Nathan as a co-star, cameos from the rest of the crew, and the whole thing is a very tongue-in-cheek semi-autobiographical satire of Alan's life post Firefly. Plus cameos from a bunch of other cult sci-fi and fantasy stars.
It looks like they had as much making it as we did watching it. And watching a reaction by a beautiful Browncoat just makes it that much better. Great job Jules and can hardly wait to see more movie reactions from you.
My favorite blooper: Mal: "Get these bodies together!" Zoe: "We got time for grave-diggin'?" Mal: "Zoe, you and Simon are gonna rope 'em together. Five or six of 'em. I want 'em laid out on the nose of our ship." Simon: "Are you insane?" Mal: "Put Book front and center. He's our friend; we should honor him. Kaylee, find that kid who's taking a dirt nap with baby Jesus. We need a hood ornament. Jayne, try not to steal too much of their shit!"
Such a great ensemble cast. Truly one of the best ever assembled. I've heard rumors of doing a remake. Please...it's just perfect the way it is. Thank you Firefly cast for some awesome entertainment. Thank you Jules for the awesome reactions.
Glad it put a smile on your face! I think the one where Mal keeps sneaking around into new positions in the circling The Message shot is my favorite... that and the mustaches lol.
Never seen a reactor react to these bloopers after watching the series and movie - what an awesome idea! Loved it, thank you so much. Please feel free to react to any sort of Firefly content - even interviews, reunions or documentaries - you know we Browncoats will love it all!
I still have your reaction to the series and movie saved to binge, but I just had to come for the casket scene in The Message. I cannot un-see Nathan in this blooper whenever I re-watch that episode 🤣🤣
You will probably love the videos taken of the cast at Conventions. No matter what guest is at the Con, Nathan finds some reason to call them on the phone to troll the crowd :) just look for Firefly convention
Adam Baldwin was also in the NBC popular TV show "Chuck" as a supporting character. It's worth a watch. I also highly recommend watching "Babylon 5". It has all of the character development you would love.
I can't believe it's over, again. But here I am, 15 years after I was introduced to this show, still loving every minute of it again and again. If you're looking for any suggestions, I would recommend Arcane. It's an animated series based on characters from the game League Of Legends. You don't need to know anything about the game to watch it though. The only thing I'll say in advance is bring your tissues. It's beautiful, dark, intricate, and just amazing. There's one season so far, 9 episodes split into 3 acts. Season 2 should be coming out later this year.
Love seeing folks discover Firefly/Serenity. It's like seeing it again for the first time. Check out all of Joss Wheddon's other stuff too. "Buffy", "Angel", Shakespeare all great.
Jules, you always put me in a good mood, and this reaction was a welcome one. I think you see if you can find the DVD Extras. There are a lot more awesome clips to see there. I don't want to tell you anything more about what you'll find, but I definitely think it will be worth it. I'm keeping my eyes 👀on you🤗🤗♥♥.

Loved seeing you smile again. Did you notice there were barely any scenes involving Shepherd Book in it? Seems like Ron Glass was such a pro he barely made any mistakes (also Adam Baldwin/Jayne did not have that much mistakes in those bloopers).
Happy to see you laughing! In regards to your opening warning about Firefly normally not having much profanity... it does, its just disguised in Chinese. The very first line in the entire show is Mal saying "Ta ma de!" Which means "motherf*cker."
@@julesreacts It kind of is, in places. For example, a used to have a cat named Mei Mei because it has a really beautiful double meaning... it can be either "little sister" or "a small, beautiful thing."
If you have the Blue-Ray Serenity, they have an interactive map of the entire 'verse. Those pictures of Book(Ron Glass)are from when he played detective Ron Harris on Barney Miller. A great '70s sitcom.
I have loved your reactions to one of my favourite shows. Please consider "Dollhouse" or maybe "Farscape" if you have time. No matter what I'll be visiting your page frequently. Thank you anyway, you are doing an amazing job and I look forward to many more emotional reactions.
Jules, I highly recommend you watch "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". It's a three act web series produced by Joss Wheden during the writer's strike of 2008 and features Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillian. The total run time is about 45 minutes. It's typical Wheden fare, but set to music. Enjoy!
You really should watch the Behind the Scenes interviews, Joss Whedon's introduction the the movie and the small installment of Serenity being the 10th character. In that order. All but Joss Whedon's introduction can be found on the DVD set -- which I strongly encourage you to buy -- but I believe all can be found on You Tube. If you want a warm feeling these will give it to you. Joss' Intro is on the Serenity DVD and will do a great job of completing your journey. I'm so happy Firefly has propelled you on this trajectory. Firefly and it's Browncoat fans have done the impossible and that makes us mighty.
I can tell something about the "Summer!" joke... on the very beggining of the series, on a long shot, everybody finally mades it all right (timing, lines, etc) and the shot would end with Summer Glau (River) saying something... and she forgot LOL.. They had to do it all again, and lots of errors hapened again, and well,... its so, that after that, everytime someone forget a line in shooting, everybody qould start to call "Summer" name...
A lot of fans wanted more Firefly. But I'm not sure. The season we got was great. But it worked because of the crew of Serenity, for the 2nd season Joss Whedon was planning for the series to focus on River as the main character and basically turn it into a superhero thing or even another Buffy for him. It would have lost what made it great. I thought the concept of the Reavers was a really great dark idea. Explorers who had looked into the emptiness of space and went mad. But then in the film Serenity they made them the boring cliched "military experiment gone wrong". Thats why I love Firefly but hated Serenity and of course killing Wash.
There was also a couple of Easter Eggs hidden on the DVDs, if you wanted to see them: Firefly - th-cam.com/video/3FKFLJmOQ50/w-d-xo.html Serenity - th-cam.com/video/f7idn3PcKBM/w-d-xo.html

Even if you don't react to them, you should absolutely check out YT videos of various panels where the cast appear - they're hilarious and you can tell how much love they have for each other, even years after the show ended. (and of course Fillion's a giant ham)
I suppose in this reaction video, the closest we came to seeing you in tears were those occasions where it looked like we might see some tears of laughter from you, Juliette. That's always better than the alternative.
What's up next? You should just jump in with both feet and do Buffy if you liked Firefly so much. It will emotionally destroy you in ways you weren't sure were possible, but it's also a heck of a ride.

To repeat, it's got Nathan as a returning co-star, cameos from the rest of the crew plus lots of other cult sci-fi and fantasy stars, and the whole thing is a very tongue-in-cheek semi-autobiographical satire of Alan's life post Firefly.
Hey Jules, there's this series (series of movies rather) called Sharpe, starring Sean Bean in one of his first big roles, about a soldier rising through the ranks in 18th century England during/surrounding the wars against Napoleon and such. It has a lot of the same rogueish politeness and cheeky witness, great writing, evil bad guys you'll hate for years, romances, betrayals, friendships, heroism, duels, etc etc. There are full episodes on TH-cam and have been for years, and it was broadcast by ITV and I believe is in public domain/free to use, and although I'm not entirely sure how the copyright laws and youtube and stuff work, it would perhaps be a show you could react to and post fully to TH-cam. Of course I'd be very happy if you watched it, (and I got to watch you watch it, because I just know you'd absolutely love it), regardless of the edit requirements.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I've not heard about that one at all so I'll definitely look into it 💜 Public domain and free to use sounds BRILLIANT!
@@julesreacts I really hope you'll do a reaction series of it. Besides the great characters and story and all that, it's also an awesome historical piece that looks and feels "real" and "rough" that makes your mind wonder about living in the past. (As in, it's not a typical Hollywood production where everyone has make up on and their hair done, despite supposedly roughing it in the wilderness for months).
@@julesreacts Young Zac Efron. It's not a huge revelation, I just didn't realize until a year or 2 ago when I rewatched it and knew I recognized him from somewhere.
I don't think there was even a single clip of Ron Glass (Book) making a mistake. The man must have been every bit as professional as Nathan's intro said. Also, did you even recognize the Love Boat reference or were you just laughing at the old photos? That show was before your time and I don't know how well it did in syndication outside the USA.
I always found the bloopers took away a little bit of the pain of the show's cancellation. Nathan is apparently a trouble maker in everything he works on. In fact, I think you might like this video of him pranking the rest of the cast at a Comic Con. th-cam.com/video/uXf_0ImQ6Aw/w-d-xo.html
If you liked Firefly, Outlaw Star is a lot like it. Its one season long, space outlaws do oddjobs to keep their ship fueled, a future with guns slingers, rogue misfit crew members, a special girl found in a case who is key to finding a special place. th-cam.com/video/8SPBJRzW2HM/w-d-xo.html
@@julesreacts the gag reel helps one get over the **Devistating** twists of the movie, I remember sitting in the theater exclaiming "They Killed Wash! No Freeking Way!" there was a collective gasp in the threater when it happened too.😲

I really hope you'll do a reaction series of it.
An average TV show employes about 80-100 people. An average movie employes upwards of 300 people
Why so many more? Is it because movies are less likely to reuse sets, costumes, etc., so need more set builders, costumers, etc.?
6:52 It's not everyday on Set where you literally get shot in the Ass.
BTW did you recognize the actor playing young Simon Tam in the flashback?
I did not but I think I read in the comments who he was? I don't know who he is though haha
@@julesreacts Young Zac Efron. It's not a huge revelation, I just didn't realize until a year or 2 ago when I rewatched it and knew I recognized him from somewhere.
Hi you should do a reaction to the uncharted fan film of 2018 with Nathan fillion you gonna love it😊
Hi there Jules
I don't think there was even a single clip of Ron Glass (Book) making a mistake. The man must have been every bit as professional as Nathan's intro said.
Also, did you even recognize the Love Boat reference or were you just laughing at the old photos? That show was before your time and I don't know how well it did in syndication outside the USA.
I don't think I've watched the Love Boat but I know about it ☺️ I was born in 1980 but I was only interested in Sesame Street in my early years 🤣
😂🤣😂🤣❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🇨🇦
Loved seeing those bloopers, thanks Jules. Just a heads up, the sound is out of sync on your commentary.
Thank you! I think something happens with youtube sometimes 😫
Uncle Buck (1989)
"Family Friendly"? Gorram right it is.
No ruttin' swearing on my ship!
I always found the bloopers took away a little bit of the pain of the show's cancellation. Nathan is apparently a trouble maker in everything he works on. In fact, I think you might like this video of him pranking the rest of the cast at a Comic Con.

👍
If you liked Firefly, Outlaw Star is a lot like it. Its one season long, space outlaws do oddjobs to keep their ship fueled, a future with guns slingers, rogue misfit crew members, a special girl found in a case who is key to finding a special place. th-cam.com/video/8SPBJRzW2HM/w-d-xo.html
fyi jules, audio is out of sync (slightly ahead).
I think that's the way it was on the initial video that I watched 😊
@@julesreacts was referring to you too though. i can hear your audio before your mouth moved.
Ooh thank you! Maybe something just went wrong with this one 🤣
why is this video so BLURY???
Unfortunately, that's down to the original video. It's not great quality but that's all that's available if you also search on TH-cam!
@@julesreacts the gag reel helps one get over the **Devistating** twists of the movie,
I remember sitting in the theater exclaiming "They Killed Wash! No Freeking Way!" there was a collective gasp in the threater when it happened too.😲
And you did need just a tad of something silly and fun after the Serenity reaction video... It was rough.
Family friendly - if not bad chinese swearing?
Its more out of courtesy if people have been watching around their kids etc ☺️☺️
I really like that you're generally careful with the language you use. It's refreshingly appropriate, ma'am. If you need to, you can resort to _gorram._
Well, thank you!! I really appreciate that. Gorram and ruttin have definitely made my way into my vocab 🤭
