Hi there. Nice review especially the action part. I am in between twinpower 8000 and certate 8000. I will use it for shore jigging , jigs 80--100gr, maximum 50meters deep. Main target are amberjacks, dentex, groupers. Which one would you go for? Thanx for your time.
Hi, thank you for your comment :) Basically it'll depend on all your feelings, but if I were you, I would use TP SW as your targets are to go down to the bottom and structures straight after hooking, therefore you need to lock the drag and pull them up as soon as possible. I felt TP has slightly more power of reeling, so I would use that.
Hi! The biggest updates from the old 15 TwinPower SW is Infinity Drive and Heatsink Drag system on the body size of #10000 and over. Infinity Drive is the feature to less friction around main shaft and pinion gear so reeling is smoother, and this actually increase the reel torque pretty much. I also suppose the drive gear can be larger. Heatsink drag is to release the drag's heat, especially when you fight against such kind of species like tuna, so the drag power lasts longer. At least, the reeling torque is much stronger as I have described on this video :)
@@shimiavivi I would say there are still different in smaller size as well. However, I would say that if you are quite satisfy with old 15TwinPower SW I wouldn't think you need to get the new one. But if you are thinking to buy one and comparing to '15 and '21, I would say '21 is better.
@@jpfishingtacklenews195 yes I am planning to buy one. I prefer the 15 model because the size is b and the 21 model is c compact. But if 21 model is better I will buy it. That's why I was asking
@@shimiavivi Well not sure about "B" and "C", but if you compare to 15 Twin Power SW and 21 Twin Power SW the size is totally the same. It could be a little confusing as Twinpower has different version - 20 TwinPower, 21 TwinPower XD and 21 TwinPower SW, and this is 21 TwinPower SW the biggest model. Hope this helps.
Hi, yes I user this to jig sometimes :) It really depends the case, when I think it's better to jerk wider, or lower by half pitch jerk than normal one pitch jerk then use this, otherwise use Certate SW 10000-H for one pitch jerking.
Hi Giorgos, unfortunately 8000 body only fits 8000 spool since the last Stella SW as 8000 body is now smaller than 10000-14000 body for lightened. 10000 and 14000 are compatible.
Thank you for your comment :) I know, there are so many varieties but yes, SW is truly for heavy duty saltwater. If you are looking for something middle size like spooling PE1-2, FD/FE can be used for offshore but SW is more for tougher use and well sealed and durable more. FD and FE are the same, FE is just updated version of FD, which is heavier but stronger (but less than SW), XD is strong yet light, like Certate. Hope this helps :)
Hi, it really depends on what kind of fishing / fish you are after. Of course that's a good reel for certain use, not for heavy jig like this but for middle lure fishing, still a good value and I still use XD often :)
Hi Azz, thank you for your comment! If #14000 is only your size choice then PG is the best, as you already mentioned 106cm / crank is good enough. To be honest, sometimes you might need to wind really fast to make ideal action on both jigging and casting, expecially when around 100m or more line is spooled out, because the cranking length is much less than max length, but absolutely PG is better than XG. However if #10000 can also be your choice, I would recommend #10000HG for versatile reel as it has +10cm more of retrieving length and that could make a little, but not egnorable difference. In this way you can actually purchase #14000 spool later for casting, that could also mean you can make own 14000HG.
@@AMLuc1320 It really depends on the case and this is just a parsonal feeling but I actually felt TPSW is slightly easier, this could be beause the heavier rotor creates more inertia when spinning and that could help retrieving a little. Of course Infinity Drive is a massive feature for the strong torque.
@@jpfishingtacklenews195 Interesting! Do you mean the TP has better torque? I would have thought Certate like 20 Saltiga with its massive main gear would be better under load. I think Infinity drive is just marketing for their floating shaft design. Daiwa has been using that design since the original Saliga z back in 2001.
Again that's only my personal feeling so others may feel differently, but yes I do feel slightly, but TPSW is stronger in torque. I understand your point, I also imagined the MQ body with large dia. drive gear could have more power, but in fact, new TPSW (and 19-20 Stella SW) also has larger dia gear inside, and the Infinity Drive has super less friction around main shaft, which could actually mean much less power loss from the handle as well. SALTIGA Z is not really a Monocoque Body but has 2 pieces body with screws, so the body system is actually different. Repeatedly, this is just my personal feeling and opinion and the difference is not that big, it's just quite a little bit so you may feel this opposite. So the conclusion is, if you prefer DAIWA then Certate SW could be your choice.
Technically both can handle the lure, therefore it will all depends on what type / size of species you target, and/or the rod weight balance. If you use the new reel for bigger size fish I would use SW model, but could be around middle size like 50cm, for Snapper, Bluefish, Trevally (not GT), mackerel etc then I would use the normal TP.
Hi Josh thank you for your comment. I literally don't know why as I am not a maker's staff. I am not like "SHIMANO side" people and not taking any sides, but I just think this separated handle does not make this reel worse.
Hi Gokhan, I am afraid but can't read what you say as we only take English or Japanese. If you mentioned about Ci4+ body case then I would just say that would not be an issue for most of anglers. If it does in a few rare cases, then Stella SW or Saltiga will only be the choice.
OK understandable that's your feeling :) Yes Certate SW is nice, strong and smooth reel too. But from my personal feeling this reel can be "smoother" in certain circumstances, like when you fight against a monster like 10kg+ I felt this reeling is slightly smoother. This reel has half metal, half Ci4+ body but felt incredibly strong, and the metal rotor has surprisingly less friction in fighting with metal rotor. Of course this can be different by person and not all reels are the same.
I just got the 5000sw. Love it.
