The San Francisco 49ers: The shortest lived lolcow Alright, they lost the Super Bowl and blew a ten point lead. That doesn’t mean they AREN’T super bowl contenders for next season never mind...
I'm holding my breath until they win the Super Bowl. *EDIT* : Nope. Kyle Shanahan blew it again. A 10 point lead gone and 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter right after allowed. Their lolcow status is still well intact, and it likely will stay that way knowing how difficult it is to win in the NFC West, especially in the league itself.

@@BriggieEverything said about the Niners in the mid 2010’s here was fair. For about four years they were terrible (injuries, bad drafting, and regression were huge contributing factors). No Super Bowl titles yet (and this next season is probably the last shot they have with the team they have now), but the Niners came back more quickly than some people may have anticipated given how bad they were.
In honor of the 49ers making the Super Bowl, I decided to do a brief timeline of how this happened. It will be from 2013 to Now. Let’s Start it shall we? 2013: After a Heartbreaking loss to the Ravens in the Super Bowl, the 49ers looked destined to head back to the Super Bowl. A Dominant 12-4 season, but up in Seattle, the Legion of Boom, Marshawn Lynch, Russell Wilson, and Pete Carroll were steamrolling everyone in their path including the 49ers, and ended up with the #1 seed. Meanwhile, Kapernick stirs up the Nation by kneeling during the National Anthem. 2017 Offseason: Mega Douche Jed York fires the GM, and brings in John Lynch, and Kyle Shanahan, for 6 years. 2017 Draft: The 49ers get a few more picks due to Chicago’s Desperation for Mitch Trubisky, draft Solomon Thomas with the third pick, and get a guy named George Kittle in the 5th round. 2017: The team is still trash. An 0-9 start to the season, and they trade for Jimmy G. After an Injury to C.J Beathard, Jimmy G becomes the Starting QB and wins his first 5 starts with San Francisco to give them a 6-10 record, and renewed optimism in the city by the bay. 2018 Offseason: The 49ers are ready to take the next step in their surge back to relevance by giving Jimmy G a huge contract worth over 100 million dollars, Get Richard Sherman to join the Niners, Jerick McKinnon as well, Weston Richburg, and draft Mike McGlinchey for the Offensive line. 2018: Everyone gets Injured. Jerick McKinnon doesn’t even play a game, P-star Jimmy tears his ACL, and a once promising season turns into a depressing 4-12 season. At least George Kittle broke the single season record for yards by a tight end... there that. 2019 Draft: At least with that record, We can get Nick Bosa from the draft. So something good came out of that. 2019: The 49ers come out of the Gates by steamrolling every opponent they face, and start the season off 8-0. Jimmy G is playing very well in his bounce back season from the ACL injury, Raheem Mostert comes outta nowhere forming a three headed dragon alongside Tevin Coleman and Matt Brieda, George Kittle is putting up solid numbers once again, Deebo Samuel is having an excellent season, the defense is one of the best in the NFL with guys like Sherman, Bosa, Buckner, Dee Ford, Kwon Alexander, Solomon Thomas, and Fred Warner. And then Adding Emmanuel Sanders to that offense helped too. Even with three heartbreaking losses to the Seahawks, Falcons, and Ravens, the Niners finished the season 13-3, and earned the #1 seed in the NFC. A lot of people question if the 49ers are really for real. 2019 Postseason: The Niners answered that with a convincing win against the Vikings as they ran all over the Vikings defense, and then took the Packers manhood in the NFC Championship game as Raheem Mostert had a career game, and sending San Francisco to the Super Bowl. So, he we are, two weeks before the Super Bowl, and the 49ers can complete the arc of going from Super Bowl contender, to Lolcow, to Super Bowl Champion. The one thing standing in the way of that, Patrick Mahomes and a Chiefs team looking to win their first Super Bowl in over 50 years. Ironically, this is the team that Jimmy G tore his ACL against back in 2018. So there’s that too. Super Bowl 54: You are up 20-10 in the third quarter and rolling. Nothing can go wrong. 4th Quarter: You did what? You didn’t learn from Atlanta Kyle? Why? Just why? Great. Might as well call it Full Kyle now. Goddamnit. Off-season: Ok, I’ve gotten over the heartbreaking loss in the Super Bowl. And I notice that DeForest Buckner and Emmanuel Sanders are gone. Buckner was a huge part of the team and he will be missed dearly by the faithful. We got a good spot in the draft to get his replacement. Let’s see what you got John. 2020 Draft: Javon Kinlaw, & Brandon Aiyuk are the first round picks for the Niners. Very good replacements for both Buckner and Sanders. And they got Trent Williams outta Washington? Alrighty then. I like that. Although it comes with a cost. Joe Staley calls it a career. See you in Canton Joe. Meanwhile, The Packers drafted Jordan Love in the first round. Why did you draft the one dude who’s gonna piss off A-Rod? So here we are. The Season is almost here... assuming the pandemic doesn’t delay the season (it probably will), and the 49ers have a lot of expectations. Most of the band is back together for another run at ring #6. The NFC is loaded with Contenders. Teams like Seattle, Green Bay, New Orleans, Dallas, Tampa Bay, Philly, and Minnesota will be gunning to dethrone the 49ers. But it will not Matter. The Revenge Tour is gonna run through everyone in the NFL, and it will not stop until the Niners have Lombardi Trophy #6 in their possession. Pornstar Jimmy will go off, Stone Cold Kittle will continue to steamroll through defenders, the RB trio of Mostert (If he doesn’t get traded), Coleman, and Jerick McKinnon (If he doesn’t get injured again) will thrive again, Deebo will comeback strong from Injury, Aiyuk will develop well, and the defense will be dominant once again. Just one thing I ask. Kyle, please do NOT go full Kyle again. Please? Week 2, 2020 Season: So it looks like everyone is getting Injured i see? Lovely. Jimmy has ankle issues, Mostert is out, Kittle is Out, Bosa Blew out his ACL, Richard Sherman is out, Thomas is out, Greenlaw is hurt, Deebo is still out, and we gotta play in MetLife again next week? Lovely. Why football gods? Why have you struck down on the Niners? Was it something I said? Is it because of the Super Bowl? Week 5, 2020 Season: Ok what the hell happened? The Dolphins literally came into Levi’s and put up 46 Points. And Jimmy didn’t do well in his first game back too. Things don’t look good at all. Gotta bounce back next week or this season could be over. Week 6, 2020 Season: There we Go. There’s that much needed win against the Rams. Jimmy looked good, the O-Line kept Aaron Donald and the Rams Defense in check, Kittle had a big TD, Aiyuk continues to impress. It doesn’t get easy however, now they will have to face a gauntlet of opponents. The first one being the Hoodie in New England. Oh Hey, it’s a Jimmy G and Belichick reunion. Week 7, 2020 Season: Oh man. You wanna talk about a destruction? The 49ers just laid the Smackdown on the Patriots Candy asses. Cam Newton was so bad that they benched him for Stidham. The Miami beatdown back in week 5 gave the Niners the Spark they needed. 4-3 record heading into Seattle. Oh boy, Seattle. My Heart Rate is going to go through the roof. I mean these two had some crazy matchups last year. What the Hell is going to happen next? Meanwhile, The Dodgers win their first title since 1988. Great. 🙃 Week 8, 2020 Season: Well that was bad. Jimmy did not play well against Seattle. DK Metcalf, Russell Wilson, & DJ Dallas torched the defense for 37 points, and Jimmy got re-injured his ankle. Just Lovely. November 2nd, 2020: Pain. Nothing but pain. Jimmy is probably gonna have to get surgery on his ankle and.... No please No. Not George Kittle. Please no. He’s out for 8 weeks? That’s a season ender. This is 2018 all over again. But it is far worse. Who’s our next opponent? The Packers? All we have to do is run the ball. It worked out well last time so do it again. Watch Hasty run for 220 yards and have 3 TD’s. Week 9: Yeah that didn’t happen. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers picked apart a injured Niners team and won pretty easy. Who’s next? A Saints team with Brees, Thomas, Kamara, and an old friend in Emmanuel Sanders? I don’t like our chances at all. Then again, the Saints defense is kinda Sus. Week 10: It started well, and then it all went south. At least it can’t worse. November 19th, 2020: Klay Thompson tears his Achilles. Oh come on, the season hasn’t even started and The Warriors are already getting hit with the injury bug? This is the price they are paying because of getting three titles, and going to the finals 5 straight years huh? At least they drafted James Wiseman. As for the Niners, they are on a bye week, so that means no one will get injured... right? Week 12: it was pretty ugly, but they won for the first time since week 7. Turnovers were being handed out from Mullens and Goff, but Robbie Gould once again, kicked the winning field goal to win us the game. Our next opponent is a Buffalo team leading the AFC East. There’s one problem... The 49ers can’t play at Levi’s Stadium due to Corona Chan. So the game will take place in Glendale. That’s gonna bring PTSD to Buffalo because the last time they were there, Kyler Murray threw a dime to De’Andre Hopkins, allowing Arizona to win the game. NFL, You let the Ravens get all the time to recover, yet when the Niners had their COVID situation before the Packers game, you had us play our game? Come on man. Week 13: That was frustrating to watch.
@L They didn't mortgage their future like the Rams, and I kinda think they have more offensive talent than the Bears. But who knows? The NFC West is tough.
MrUHOH415 that must of been a lot of work but idk why reading that as a chiefs fan made me feel like we didn’t deserve it but IT TOOK YALL 7 YEARS BUT US 50 DONT BE COMPLAINING
As a 49er fan, those were dark times, but I remained steadfast, and in the end, the best case scenario happened. Jed York was visited by the 3 spirits in the offseason, and is now a much more respectable owner. He hired the right people who were able to turn this franchise around, and we are now reaping the rewards. The 49ers are headed to the Super Bowl. It's truly an amazing feeling right now. However, this video will hold a special place in my heart. This was one of the first videos I saw of Tree's, and I've been a viewer ever since. Additionally, this video is a time capsule of what once was. I can always revisit it and remeber the rock bottom of this franchise. And now only a week and a half from potentially winning a 6th ring, and the first in my lifetime, I am proud to say that I was able to weather the storm and be proud of my team again. Thank you Tree for mocking this team, we deserved it, and we learned from it. #faithfulforever
As it happened, they lost still. They have a great and young team though, yes. But unfortunately, I have my doubts about them returning anytime soon. Their division changes each year. And the NFC in general changes each year.
Everyone that lived here in Oregon tried warning the niners that Chump Kelly was a nothing. He is a 1 trick pony, and its a trick that wont, and didnt, work in the NFL. He looked good because he inherited a great program and then he ran for the NFL when he fucked it up and was going to be penalized.
Who's here after the 49ers' undefeated first half of 2019? EDIT: And now they're the #1 seed in the NFC! We'll check back here later in January! EDIT 2: THEY'RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL! *And* they're facing Andy Reid! Someone is shedding their choker label this year! EDIT 3: Unfortunately it’s not you! Kyle Shanahan just blew ANOTHER double-digit lead in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs! But at least the future looks bright in San Francisco.

I can respect that. *Colin Kapernick admires Fidel Castro* What in the actual fuck???
You are one of the hottest teams in football, winning 10 straight games to end the season. You did America a favor by eliminating the Cowboys in the divisional round. You are a legitimate threat to win the Super Bowl. Only a brick wall can stop you. Its name is the Eagles.
Such a stark difference between UTree's delivery then and now. He speaks a lot slower and enunciated more. He also sounds less angry, for lack of a better term. This video is still a fun watch and the offseason montage is classic.
The niners will play in sb 52 next year against the 49ers With 1 second left on the one they choose to pass but then the national anthem plays so he kneels and they lose
The Niners: a classic case of how far the once mighty have fallen. If you are a sports fan on a contending team, take notes. This may very well be the future of your team in a couple of years.
@@luffystrolls6837 Still rings true as of 2022. The 49ers reached the Super Bowl, only for the injury bug to run rampant the following season (6-10). One does not simply get a project QB like Trey Lance without sucking or surrendering a king's ransom. Plus, Kyle Shanahan seemed to have taken the baton from Andy Reid as THE definition of "choking".
The good news is Cutler will probably be gone after this season. The bad news is they'll pick up Tony Romo. Another injury prone wash up that the McCaskeys will fall head over heels for.
I can see Chicago overpaying for a mediocre commodity like Mike Glennon or Jimmy Garopollo to be their QB. Jay Cutler suffers the ultimate punishment, however: Going to Cleveland.
I'm not gonna care about the Bears until the MacKaskey's sell the team. Never underestimate what new ownership can do for a franchise (ie Blackhawks and Cubs).
this went full cycle... again. 2011-13- super bowl contenders, 2014-17- shit, 2018- injured to fuck, 2019- super bowl contenders, 2020- injured to fuck.
Should have mentioned their roots of futility. The insane 1978 49ers committed, a NFL record, 63 turnovers on Offense. That is basically 4 turnovers per game by the offense (via fumble or INTs). Talk about shooting yourself in the foot...then their hand, head, hip and the other foot just to be thorough. The incredible thing is that they won 2 games, one where they won TO battle by only committing 2 TOs on Offense and creating 8 TOs on Defense. Against the Bucs winning by the score of 6-3, the 49ers O committed 6 TOs and their D created 2TOs. Crazy crazy season.
Funny thing, San Jose is A: closer to Levi Stadium (hell, Stamford Stadium where they played in the Super Bowl is closer to San Francisco) and B, actually about 20% larger than San Francisco by population. I will hence forth be referring to the team as the San Jose 49ers until they learn to get their act together.
Not to mention they built the stadium next to a fucking amusement park. But unlike the niners, that amusement park is still worth going for an enjoyable experience
Honestly, I'm tired of people saying we're "spoiled" because of that 1980s dynasty. Ever since the last Super Bowl they have done nothing but given us heartbreaking playoff losses and mediocrity. Seriously, if you were born after the 90s (like me, unfortunately), then you don't know what a Super Bowl is (wait no, I know that we choked away not one, but TWO Super Bowls) and the losses against the Derp and the Seahawks in the playoffs still sting. And then there was our rebuilding years, dear Lord what an ugly mess that was. Bouncing around from QB to QB (and coach to coach) felt like forever instead of like 5 years. And now, as I'm writing this, the team is struggling, plagued with injuries, and our future is in doubt. Oh, and choking away a 10 point lead in the Super Bowl is still fresh in our minds. All I have experienced is pain and misery from this team, yet everyone will look past that because "Hey, we won a Super Bowl almost 30 years ago!!!" End of rant, have a lovely day
Thank you as a fellow 49er fan. On the bright side, we had the Giants win three World Series in five years. Even that feels like a lifetime ago. I really want the 49ers to win. That’s Super Bowl loss stings hard.
Only the 49ers can go from super bowl contenders to basement to fucking nuking their organization to starting 8-0 Edit: To appearing in another super bowl

2023: best record in the NFC despite struggling to two lesser teams in the playoffs you made it back to the super Bowl! Oh no it's the Chiefs again and it's a 10-point lead you're going to blow it again aren't you? YEP not only that you lose via the new overtime rules which you had no idea how to plan for!
As a Ravens fan now I understand how much damage both Greg Roman and Steve Saunders had on the 49ers, BECAUSE THEIR DOING THE SAME TO THE OTHER HARBAUGH IN BALTIMORE!
Both. The Cowboys have yet to make an NFC title game since winning it all in 1995 and the 49ers have lost their last three Super Bowl appearances. The Packers are still jollying.
Yeah and then get played into giving up multiple draft picks by the team they beat easily in order to move up one spot in the draft to take a qb despite the fact that you paid top dollar for a qb in the offseason and the fact that qb you drafted only started a handful of games in college
0:53 now they’ve set the world record for fastest transformation from super bowl contender to league laughingstock then back to super bowl contender again

2012 49ers kicked their ass in NFC Championship big ups on crushing Seahawks... 49ers basically crushed NFC South and trust me they got revenge during this era mostly except in the playoffs funny enough beat Saints, Carolina.
I'm a 49ers fan, but saying Patrick Willis was in his prime is a HUUUGGGEEE stretch. With the number of injuries he had, he had seen better days. It was sad to see him leave, but he was done. Iupati was coming off a fractured leg in the NFC Championship Game against the Hawks.

Great. 🙃
Week 8, 2020 Season: Well that was bad.
MrUHOH415. Holy crap how long did you spend typing this?

It took me a long time to write all of this.
MrUHOH415 thank you for this. I read this in Tree’s “Legacy of Failure” voice and it’s beautiful
You still proud

Everyone that lived here in Oregon tried warning the niners that Chump Kelly was a nothing. He is a 1 trick pony, and its a trick that wont, and didnt, work in the NFL. He looked good because he inherited a great program and then he ran for the NFL when he fucked it up and was going to be penalized.
Who's here after the 49ers' undefeated first half of 2019?

Such a stark difference between UTree's delivery then and now. He speaks a lot slower and enunciated more. He also sounds less angry, for lack of a better term. This video is still a fun watch and the offseason montage is classic.

You gotta do one for the Bears. The McCaskeys have been prison fucking its fan base since George Halas died!
You beat me to it.
The Bears wouldn't be a bad target. If only for their fanbase's desire for Jay Cutler to be fired out of a trebuchet and their awful, awful team.

@@bw-leftturnracing7779 beautiful comment
Considering what a proud history the 49er franchise has--it's the team of Joe Montana, after all--this has to be excruciating for their fan base.

@@anthonylong9067 Nah, Great America is dull and a heck of a lot less entertaining than an NFC Championship contender
@Andrew Tkachenko ngl you may be on to something
