Note that in 12 Pro, it will use the normal lens if it detects ISO 400 or greater. So basically, 12 pro will use the Telephoto lens in bright area such as outdoors in a sunny day. In the sample photos, they're identical in details because both use the same normal wide lens.

Summary for those like me looking to see what are the differences:
Pro has 2 more GB of ram, telephoto lens cam, night sensor, can record HDR videos at 60fps, and starts at 128GB. Everything else is the same.

The display is slightly brighter on the 12 pro so if you want the brightest display possible I’d go with the pro because you will be able to see it better outside

Compared to the 11 series, there aren't much improvements performance-wise. Cameras are great on the 12 Pro, though
I have an iPhone 7 Plus. I cannot upgrade atm.
Back when AT&T offered free phones I upgraded each year. As prices increase, I now keep my iPhone longer. Got a good deal on an XS in February. I wish I had gotten the 11 Pro Max, but it's ancient history now. If I was in the market I'd hold out for the Pro Max.

Picked up iPhone 12 Pro yesterday. Switched from iPhone 8 plus. I'm very pleased with it so far... a major update with its camera, display and sleek design. Didn't really want to switch to even bigger phone than I already had so I opted for the smaller pro variant even though it's not the true flagship anymore
My space grey 128 GB iPhone 12 arrived yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised at how seamless it was to go from my previous iPhone to the iPhone 12. Process took about 20 mins in total and everything was just like on my old iPhone.
Thanks for this video. Made my decision so much easier. I wanted the pro, but after watching your comparison I think I'll go with the iphone 12. The upgrades on the pro doesn't matter too much for me 😬
Reasons why I chose the 12 over the 12 Pro:
1. Significantly lighter
2. Cheaper
3. Super shiny sides of the Pro look gaudy and cheap
4. Lidar is over hyped
5. 2x zoom telephoto is not that useful
6. Extra 2gigs of ram is not noticeable
It can record in the dark. That might make a difference during a night time pull over.

I absolutely agree they are closer than ever this year
Just the 128 memory and not having to pay extra for an unlocked version makes it too close to pass on the Pro. The pro will keep it's value better when it comes time to trade in too.
I have also purchased 12, I have another android phone which has a telephoto lens but I never use.
I pre ordered the 12 pro from IPhone X, thanks for keeping us informed.
Upgraded from an iPhone 7 Plus to the iPhone 12 this weekend. I love it! I didn’t need the extra bells and whistles on the camera. 😄

Excellent side by side thanks. I wish they had included the larger camera sensor size in the 12 pro without making it exclusive to the Max. This means for photographers with small hands to get that sensor they are now forced to get a huge phone.
Just got my iPhone 12 Pro Pacific Blue today!! Feels great in the hand and love the 6.1 size and camera upgrades, upgraded from my 2017 iPhone X :)

The one thing missing from making the iPhone 11 the perfect phone for me was the lack of a OLED screen. The 12 has all the great features of the 11 but now with a OLED screen so I’ll probably go for that.
Unless Samsung tempts me back to Android with the S21, but the Exynos needs to have a vast improvement in battery life.

Honestly the battery is extremely well efficient. I’ve found myself using my phone heavily and still having like 30-40% by the end of the day including gaming, streaming, and a lot of being on the internet pretty much. It’s actually impressive. Charges extremely fast and I never have to overnight charge. Standby time is as always amazing

Upgrading my 7 to the regular 12. I also noticed that in this video, the Pro has the old school Instagram icon app. 🤔
This is VERYYYYYY late but, in Instagram you can change your icon. It’s very complex to explain (for me) so just google how to get different insta icons
I have the XS Max. I think I’m gonna hold off again this year. Hopefully next year they focus on the battery more

Thank you so much for this informative video! I had a hard time choosing between the 12 and 12 pro because of the price and i do need the 256gb of storage. I will be waiting to see what the iphone 13 will bring to the table (and the price of the 12 will drop), but if it's not a big difference i will be taking the 12 pro. I was considering the 12 mini since it's cheaper but i am a heavy user so it's a no-no for me. I have a iphone 6s plus and it would be doing great but the new software and apps are making my phone slow and since it was damaged a few times (changed the screen to a fake one, camera and battery, microphone is not as it used to be and the vibration doesn't work anymore) i will be definitely needing an upgrade! I will be changing to the 12 pro because i do take a lot of pictures especially at night and thanks to your video i can see that the 12 does not take good photos at all at night whereas the 12 pro is doing great in that aspect!

I got the same phone getting the 12 pro as soon as it's available so annoying have been trying to get one for about a week now...
My wife got her mint green 12 yesterday. Compared to the X it replaced, it’s a definite upgrade. I’m waiting for the 12PM! I prefer the blue of the Pro over what looks like crayola blue of the 12.
I was really looking forward to 120hz ProMotion on the 12Pros and DO NOT CARE about 5G but unfortunately, Apple deemed 5G was more important. This puts me in a dilemma if I should upgrade from my XR. Is it worth it or wait it out another year?

I ordered the 12 Pro and it arrived yesterday. I wanted at least 128 megs of storage so that made the price difference only $150. I also wanted the better camera. The extra ram was a bonus I hadn't counted on. I'm on T-Mobile and already receiving 5g in spots.
Yeah I’m thinking about the storage, plus the 12 pro colours look so nice. But damn, a grand, and as the price is the same in the UK it works out more expensive than the US

I also got the 12 Pro 128 GB in graphite theres alot of 5G coverage in my area so I guess it was worth upgrading from 7 Plus

I got the iPhone 12 pro in silver yesterday. What an amazing phone!!! I haven’t really picked my iPhone 11 Pro Max back up yet. This phone feels so good in the hand. I love the flat edges makes it look better and it’s comfortable in hand without a case. Definitely in love with my purchase. Got this to downsize and love it!

As you asked: Got an iPhone X (force touch gang) & iPad Pro 2016. I'm not super fussed about camera or 5G, I don't see anything compelling enough with these changes.
My devices are still fast, reliable, up-to-date. I intend to wait for 120Hz and better battery next year.
This might be the year I buy a mac to replace my Surface Book.
I went for the regular 12. I don't really use Telephoto, so I am extremely happy with it. I come from an XR, so the screen changte to OLED and higher res was a great thing

justaman the biggest upgrade from an x to 12 would be the cameras. and me personally, my x is pretty shitty after i dropped it in a pool twice, so i’ll definitely take the upgrade

After months, weeks, days, and hours of deciding which one from the Pro Max, Pro, or 12. I finally got the iPhone 12 - Blue 💙 I have no regrets and still can't believe I have it in my hands. It's so sleek and elegant. 😍 The color matches my style and personality. The only thing I'm worried was the 📷🔦 flare lens/lens flare issue. Other flagships has it but its more noticeable on 12 Pro Max which kinda sucks. 😅👍🏻

@@shindyhor3052 so I got up at 7am checked my social media went to the gym for about 2 hours listening to music the whole time and on the way home which took 15 mins and now at 2:50 pm I’m on 86% (I also have been checking stuff on my phone off and on and watching a few TH-cam videos) I think that’s pretty amazing. So so far so good!
