The iPhone 12 is my very first iPhone ever since the original iPhone was introduced 14 years ago. I've been an Android guy since the beginning because I liked rooting phones, I liked customizing everything, and I didn't like Apple's tight control on software. But today, none of that matters because Android OS looks and feels like IOS--IMO. Nothing is gained by rooting phones any more so I can now focus on looks. And... I found the iPhone 12 to look well built, sturdy AF, and stable in my hand. I know folks with the PRO and the phones look and feel the same so I stuck the cheaper option. So far, really happy with my blue 12.
I am very satisfied with the iPhone 12 (especially with its size and weight) and the small camera differences that you highlight really convince me that the 12 was the best choice for my $849 investment. Thank you for the great video!
I just purchased the iphone 12 simply because phone prices are outrageous and this one was less expensive. Not to mention, I think the Pandemic caused prices to go up since everyone is now more than ever dependent on their phones. Good to know that the main difference between both is the camera, I'm not much on uploading or taking pictures so it worked out. Thanks for the info.
The difference between the two devices is about 120$ (12 128Gb vs 12pro 128Gb). In the higher including: the stiffer and the more elegant shashi, a better camera system, 2 more GB RAM and a bit better display. In my opinion, if someone deside to spend 880$ for a mobile device, with 120$ extra could buy a device which could be still alive for more of one or two years than iphone 12.

@@AndreHance Yeah I know, but iPhone are more optimized for the ram they have I still use iPad Mini 3 from 2014 with 1 gb RAM and it works decently. And as the battery you mentioned 12 gives better battery life than 12 pro as the pro has 2gb extra ram and a Lidar scanner to power. And the replacing battery, is a pain in the ass for people buying iphones in places with no apple official store and it is very expensive.

I’ve upgraded from IPhone 7 to 12 3 months ago & honestly love it, it’s perfect for my usage & have found the camera to be amazing. Was a worthwhile upgrade first time I’ve had an expensive phone, had my 7 for a year before upgrading & defiantly noticed the difference.

A 12 128gb here in India costs more than a 12 pro 256gb US so Im waiting for my friend to bring one 12 pro 128 which with currency conversion charges will still be a better deal :)
Thanks for the detailed comparison. I fully agree with the point that 12 is a better choice for most people. I agree that The Pro is for professional camera users. One key feature you have overlooked is that, 12 is 25grams lighter - which is nearly 15% lighter - than the 12pro. To me that was the closing line to go with the 12 ! Almost similar phone but 15% lighter!! Cheers.
How is 25 grams a deal breaker? I’m sure you can feel it side by side, but would that extra 25 grams pull your shoulder out of it’s socket or strain your back? If the difference were in pounds, I could understand.
i am a freelance videographer and i could say that iphone 12 is worth it than 12 pro. 12 pro just added with lidar (which most people dont really use) and extra camera features(like the zooming if you are lazy enought to come closer to your subject lol), but i think other than that it is almost the same.
I upgraded from the X to the 12. Not gonna lie, not really missing the telephoto camera. The ultrawide is much more useful to have, and the newly improved regular wide camera is hella great, even at 2X digital zoom. (On the X I never went past the 2X zoom on the telephoto camera because the pics looked like garbage). Also I have a LiDAR sensor on my iPad Pro, and I NEVER use it. The value proposition of the regular 12 was too hard to pass up over the regular 12 Pro (and the Pro Max was just too big for me! I would totally go Mini but I need the battery life since I tend to use my phone a lot). Plus I LOVE the blue on the 12 vs the pacific blue of the Pro. No brainer choice for me.

I’m agreeing with you. iPhone 12 is a better choice than 12 pro. I brought iPhone 12 red colour last month. There is only a very small difference on camera between iPhone 12 and 12 pro. The other specs are almost same. But the price difference is very high.
I have the iPhone 12 with 128gb and the battery life is great , I am a heavy user and get a day and a half from a single charge , that’s with using the camera for pictures and video on 4K . No gripes from me it’s a awesome powerful phone with great cameras. I vlogg and make and upload Railfan videos to TH-cam.
The iphone 12 pro uses it's high brightness capacity of you either increase it or if your in bright sunlight. The 12 is technically capable of this, but it only work on hdr video for some reason, whereas the high brightness works on everything on the pro

The 12 is good because this time you’re not missing much other than just an extra camera lense and that’s it. The same screen and everything is the same.
You forgot to mention 12pro has 6 gb ram vs 4 gb ram found on the 12 , this alone worth the 120 more in my book， the upgraded camera and better casing are just icing on the cake
@@clisaa6974 More RAM means you can have more apps open at once without it slowing down or freezing up the phone. Unless you have like 10 apps and a video game open at once the 4 gb of RAM should be plenty enough. My iphone 7 only had 2 gb of RAM. 6 gb would be best for the very heavy user with tons of stuff open at once. Both phones have the same processor so the 12 is just as fast as the 12 pro with normal usage.
To be honest i had the 12 pro max but due to pain in my hands (arthritis) i had to drop down. I wanted to wait for the 13 but i had to much issues with siZe and weight so got the 12. The major difference is the screen brightness outside on a sunny day! I was like omg the 12 screen is not bright enough even with all the same exact settings like the 12 pro max . For sur the camera on the pro is wow compared to the 12. Will wait for the 13 pro to get.
Just got a new iPhone 12 in blue. Coming from an iPhone 8. Great phone but flawed. Might be returning it and going back to the 8. Amazes me how such a innovative company such as Apple can’t fix the blurry text as your scrolling though Facebook. It strains the eyes and is very distracting. Shouldn’t have to “adjust” to this considering the cost of this device. Maybe a higher refresh rate screen might fix this? I’m not sure. They also can’t give us a always on battery percentage indicator like my 8 does. I’m the biggest fan of Apple products, just not wowed by this new phone.
I too just retired my original rose gold SE, but went with a pixel 4a bc I wanted the audio port. Biggest mistake! After owning it for 5 long months, I'm turning it in for the 12, but wondering if I should be getting the 11 instead! I pick up the 12 tomorrow!
As far as brightness is concerned, both phones only reach their max brightness in direct sunlight. You may be able to test this by shining a bright flashlight at the sensor.
I’ve never personally had an iPhone before, I’ve been through windows phones and of course android devices such as Huawei and Samsung but I recently made the switch to the iPhone 12 and honestly I much prefer it to android and I’ve only had it a few days

@@Itsniki9927depends on what you’d want to transfer, but I was able to transfer all my videos, photos and contacts over very easily and setting up my banking apps and other apps in general was a breeze

the wide and ultra wide cameras are the exact same. there’s an extra telephoto lens, which is pretty finicky unless it’s in good lighting. the lidar scanner’s features are pretty gimmicky and is mostly for augmented reality. trust me, the cameras on the 12 is a solid package.
@@nickirkland6428 honestly the pro just looks cooler I guess but I still have my 12 and it’s not bad at all in my opinion. The pro camera is slightly better but pretty much the same thing in my opinion.
For most people 12 128gb is more than enough, and the extra £150 I spent on apple care as I want to make sure that I am fully covered in case something goes wrong after the 12 months warranty. Pro in Uk comes at £1200 with care , £200 extra for one extra camera not worth it. Btw pro in white is amazing, black was my choice for the 12

I went for blue iPhone 12 128gb (currently typing this comment from it) 🥳 12 pro doesn’t make sense this year tbh, I checked out in store and they are identical phones in 99% of aspect. I upgraded from iPhone X btw, & love the upgrades on the 12
First of all, the same 128gb capacity lowers the difference between the pro and 12 to 150$, and i think the lidar, telephoto camera, raw and dolby shots, steel instead of aluminium and 2gb more ram is worth it.
I got the 12 base model in lilac because of the color and I’m a stay at home wife/mother and it’s just enough for me. Don’t need all the extra specs. Husband and I upgraded for the 7. It’s great for us.

I plan to wait until next year for the iphone 13 pro max which could come with higher refresh rate of 120 hertz and considering the introduction of 5G network would come with a much higher battery life. which lasts much longer Lets see .

Uh you should shine a strong light into the ambient sensor when testing the peak brightness? Of course the differences are not as pronounced when you're indoor.

outside US the price difference is huge in my country(Philippines) iphone 12 128gb is priced at $940 while the iphone 12 pro for the same storage is priced at $1260 that's $320 difference. I like the black color looks sleek.

To be honest i had the 12 pro max but due to pain in my hands (arthritis) i had to drop down. I wanted to wait for the 13 but i had to much issues with siZe and weight so got the 12. The major difference is the screen brightness outside on a sunny day! I was like omg the 12 screen is not bright enough even with all the same exact settings like the 12 pro max . For sur the camera on the pro is wow compared to the 12. Will wait for the 13 pro to get.

Just got a new iPhone 12 in blue. Coming from an iPhone 8. Great phone but flawed. Might be returning it and going back to the 8. Amazes me how such a innovative company such as Apple can’t fix the blurry text as your scrolling though Facebook. It strains the eyes and is very distracting. Shouldn’t have to “adjust” to this considering the cost of this device. Maybe a higher refresh rate screen might fix this? I’m not sure. They also can’t give us a always on battery percentage indicator like my 8 does. I’m the biggest fan of Apple products, just not wowed by this new phone.

As far as brightness is concerned, both phones only reach their max brightness in direct sunlight. You may be able to test this by shining a bright flashlight at the sensor.
I’ve never personally had an iPhone before, I’ve been through windows phones and of course android devices such as Huawei and Samsung but I recently made the switch to the iPhone 12 and honestly I much prefer it to android and I’ve only had it a few days

@@Itsniki9927depends on what you’d want to transfer, but I was able to transfer all my videos, photos and contacts over very easily and setting up my banking apps and other apps in general was a breeze

the wide and ultra wide cameras are the exact same. there’s an extra telephoto lens, which is pretty finicky unless it’s in good lighting. the lidar scanner’s features are pretty gimmicky and is mostly for augmented reality. trust me, the cameras on the 12 is a solid package.

For most people 12 128gb is more than enough, and the extra £150 I spent on apple care as I want to make sure that I am fully covered in case something goes wrong after the 12 months warranty. Pro in Uk comes at £1200 with care , £200 extra for one extra camera not worth it. Btw pro in white is amazing, black was my choice for the 12

First of all, the same 128gb capacity lowers the difference between the pro and 12 to 150$, and i think the lidar, telephoto camera, raw and dolby shots, steel instead of aluminium and 2gb more ram is worth it.

I got the 12 base model in lilac because of the color and I’m a stay at home wife/mother and it’s just enough for me. Don’t need all the extra specs. Husband and I upgraded for the 7. It’s great for us.

The MagSafe case doesn’t charge your phone. It’s just a case with more magnets in it so you have a stronger hold when using a MagSafe charger with the case.

outside US the price difference is huge in my country(Philippines) iphone 12 128gb is priced at $940 while the iphone 12 pro for the same storage is priced at $1260 that's $320 difference. I like the black color looks sleek.
