Step 1: Build this on a multiplayer server. Step 2: Hook it up to a beacon that is only activated when it's happy. Step 3: Build a temple around it and require offerings for the redstone god to confer its blessing. Step 4: Start a cult; rake in the the profits.

You should build in another function, which ignites some tnt whenever your pet is down to zero in all needs. just to make taking care of it more significant and consequential.

Mumbo, you should build this in Hermitcraft in the shopping district and hermits will put the items you want in the VP to keep it happy (like a community pet). And you get to keep the items they throw in to make it sad again so the hermits will throw more items so on and so on. Just an idea. :)

Mumbo, great video, and I loved it. It was very helpful, but could you please make a video without any modern redstone items? What I'm asking is for you to make a video on redstone circuits like the one you made two days ago, but only using torches, dust, repeaters, sticky pistons, normal pistons, dispensers, buttons, lever, pressure plates, etc. Just don't use redstone blocks, hoppers, droppers, comparators, tripwire, redstone lamps, trapped chests, weighted pressure plates, etc. You could think of it as a challenge, and I would find it extremely helpful. Keep up the good work!

I costructed a virtual pet between the piston house video and this one. it works well enough, but it most certainly isn't as good as this. It destroys the items and i never would have thought about those RSNOR latches to rate happiness. that was genius. I think this would be a very fun project to put in the bat cave on hermitcraft or maybe in the orange district. It could use some love

Really helpful but I have some few(2) questions: -How many items does it take for the "Etho's Hopper Timer" thing for 1 sec? -How can I/We(the viewers) make the "virtual pet's" face into making the pistons push the happy/sad face just like Etho's?
One modification that you should do to this thing is make it so that it destroys the items that you feed it instead of storing them in chests, otherwise, the game will just fill up with items over time. One of the whole points of having a "virtual pet" is that it "consumes" stuff. It eats. In my opinion, consuming the items would destroy them. So I would have it detect the items you feed it and them drop those items on a cactus or into lava. You could also easily modify this so that certain things don't need items tossed in but say, a button push instead to simulate "playing with it or petting it". Say for each button push, it equals putting one item in so that the more you push the button, the higher one of the meters goes up and if you don't push that button once in a while, sad, dead, pet.
Build this as a community build in the hermit craft server and have a really corny but likeable name but have everyone walk by and just freely give something to it. Im feeling as though Geoff would be nice for this guy

I would like to request a video - firstly, I guess cheers to you for making redstone tutorials :D, I'm going to start fiddling around with redstone soon, but that's besides the point. I'm wondering if you could go more in-depth with how to make a project, like from imagination to in the game sort of thing if you know what I'm trying to say. You also did a circuit tutorial, but what I would also like is a video about the practical uses of each circuit, like where would you use monostable circuits? If you could make videos that are oriented towards noobs like myself, that would be cool, such as tutorials like these.

I'm wondering if you could go more in-depth with how to make a project, like from imagination to in the game sort of thing if you know what I'm trying to say. You also did a circuit tutorial, but what I would also like is a video about the practical uses of each circuit, like where would you use monostable circuits? If you could make videos that are oriented towards noobs like myself, that would be cool, such as tutorials like these.

you should make one of these on the hermitcraft server but with MUCH bigger lamp bars so the hermits could keep it happy, and if it is sad it shoots up red fireworks

Mumbo, do you think you could redesign this using a piston feed tape for the face? This would allow much more detail in the face, making it appear more like a virtual pet, as opposed to a redstone contraption.

You could build this somewhere on the Hermitcraft server and have it activate a few beacons in an area when it's happy.
