  • After the success of the 38 Pilothouse, Helmsman Trawlers developed the 43E Pilothouse, expanding the interior volume by adding a second stateroom and more seating in the salon. The pilothouse has good visibility and her low-top hamper makes the 43E a good candidate for a couple that wants to tackle the Great Loop.

And over here we have an option to add … wait for it … A 32” COLOR TV 😂. Welcome to 21st century Steve. I challenge you to find a black and white TV at Best Buy!

Beautiful coastal cruiser. I love the interior woodwork and absence on the exterior.

The compromise of living space over cabin space does make a lot of sense. Plus, I guess it's more owner specification. Either way, I do like it. That fit and finish again, is amazing.

Appears to be a excellent loop boat for a retired couple! Love her design!!

That guest room looks ideal for a children's room. Including using it as a sung little area to disappear into. Love it.

That woodwork is absolutely amazing. I love it.
It reminds me of the master carpenters in the European craftsmanship competition every year here in Europe, and that's just the men (and presumably some women) that are just trying to make it threw the Irish finals. (I'm Irish.)
Basically it's an amazing thing to presumably have you set up for life in whatever craftsmanship competition you entered, carpentry, welding, and whatever other one's.

    Beautiful seating booth area.
I'm thinking that design is great for a small family or a small group of colleagues or friends to enjoy their meals, boardgames, conversations, group chart planning, small informal buissness meetings, or whatever else, like if the boat is insulated well or the climate is warm enough, maybe a family Christmas or Thanks Giving Dinner. That sounds very nice. Plus, the slightly dark wooden interior is very homily and inviting, to match that seating both very well. It kinda reminds me of the original Jaws movie, where the men are gathered around a table on the trawler, have tea or coffee together, on their way to find the shark.

I love that spice rack, but as captain Steve said, I would also like to see an extraction fan.
Sometimes it's too cold or stormy to open the window.

I love how weatherproof everything on the outside areas are.
Plus the water directed away into gutter like spaces on the roof and aft cockpit area, the high solid walls around the cockpit area, and the double door gates at the back, and gates at either side of the cockpit. Wonderful design. I'm guessing a family would feel very safe having toddlers playing in that cockpit area, if they can lock the gates to keep them in.

Capt Steve is definitely on or very near the top of the boat review game. Some give the impression they're reviewing an apartment. Their own boat doesn't leave the dock.

Very informative video. I have to chuckle when the TV is still described as “color”. Is there any other?

Truly amazing craftsmanship absolutely mind-blowing. Be nice to have cedar to to creating a refreshing atmosphere plus real leather to accent that. Demand for such *CALMINGS* i think through the roof given the just even more mind blowing real estate boom down that way.

Lovely looking boat,it really is.Apart from nitpicking over no double sink with draining area and rather small tv size cubby hole, the inside is mint....outside flybridge for uk would be a hard sell also, without more hardtop area.

A big sticking point with a lot of boats is bunk space. There are still people who have multiple children of two different sexes and they want everyone to have a place to sleep. "Bolsters" might be the new trend, but I like an old fashioned seat that unfolds to make a bunk when I'm at anchor. Dinettes, settees, whatever need to fold down. A bench seat that can't be used for a bed is wasted space to me. It's like the manufacturers completely abandoned family, overnight or extended trip boating. No bunks, small fuel tanks, multiple gas guzzling engines that make going anywhere super expensive. Imagine going offshore on a million dollar CC that has no place to lie down, but has 4 or 5 engines and enough rod holders for 24 people. Who designs that stuff? Mercury Marine?

If I bring my 75 year old mother on board, I’m supposed to put her in THAT for a guest room? Not a chance. Other manufacturers find a better balance, and further, if all people did in their bedrooms was sleep, none of us would be here. If a couple is our guest, their stateroom is that small and shares a wall with the master? Seriously, this is better done by other manufacturers. I suggest they look to the Tradewinds 43. That was a fantastic layout, but sadly the newest one I’ve seen is a 1990.

Saying *a 36 inch color TV* shows your age ahaha. Don't need to say color anymore
