Himanshu bhai this train firstly ran between Howrah and New Bongaigaon. A metre gauge train named Kamrup Express ran Dibrugarh Town to Bongaigaon which reached Bongaigaon in the Morning and then the Broad Gauge train started it's Journey from Bongaigaon towards Howrah.
So the train divided into two parts, in earlier days.

Kamrup Express is my most favourite train. So many childhood memories are attached with this train. Nice to see that the food quality is good and bill is also provided with food. Sad to hear about the maintenance of the washroom. I can't understand that why people can't flush after using the washroom, and about the mirror issue which you are saying, much be stolen by the passengers. If you'd traveled in 3AC or 2AC then your journey experience would have been better

My journey was started by Kamrup Express from 1975 to 1979 , Howrah to Mariani jn & back .
Those days traveled by Steam engine and broad guage line was upto New Boingiagaun and then meter gauge upto Dibrugrah.
A separate Dining car coach used to attached in this train and many time had lunch in Dining coach .
But reaching time at Howrah always late , I never got my connecting East Coast Exp train to Hyderabad 0820 am .
Waiting at Howrah Rly stn and in the evening catching Coromandal exp upto Vijaywada.
