    Ang cause sa draging mag iinit yung dalawang surface bell contact surface ng cluctch base on my observation magaply ka ng breek sa downhill hindi na kumakapit yung lining madulas na dahil sa sobrang init ng metal friction,thanks sa info mo sir dagdag kaalaman.more power to you

    Better na maniwala sa actual na performance ng regroove...un liniar groove or fine groove bakit sa actual performance is napaka smooth!! Nawala dragging...so better na maniwala sa actual performance...test mumuna lahat ng klase ng groove bago tau mag final judgement...

    Groove bells INCREASE the contact surface if matched with the correct clutch lining. Sa umpisa, habang makinis pa yung bagong clutch lining, may gap sa pagitan ng groove at clutch lining,. Pero habang lumalapat ang clutch lining, isipin mo na para ding grooved fanbelt yan--the "v-space" between grooves is filled up by the portion of the clutch lining that was not cut down by the high part of the groove. Lalapat ngayon yung "talas" ng clutch lining sa low part ng groove. May mga clutch lining na HINDI PWEDENG GAMITIN sa groove bell--ito yung mga malalambot ang lining material (yung nagpupulbos) dahil pantay lagi ang pagkaupod, hindi lumalpat sa groove pattern.

    Sir nakalimutan mo yata na parang ceramic pads yang clutch pads. Eventually huhulma rin ung clutch pad sa bell at magiging same na sila ng grooved pattern. Therefore kakapit sya lalo Parang teeth grinding.

    Actually medyo may mali sa sinsabi ni sir ung linear grove d nababawasan ung contact patch na sinasabi ni sir (surface area) pag nag grove ka pinapalaki mo pa nga ung surface area nung contact ng clutch kaya kahit linear ung grove ang effect nun sa common user is nawawala ung dragging. Problem lang nitong regrove na linear kailangan mabreak in ng ayos ung clutch kelangan magka grove din ung clutch para mautilize nya ung surface area. Inshort kelangan din magincrease ng surface area ung clutch pad.
    Ang purpose kasi nung sa pinakita ni sir na bell ung parang screw ung grove is to increase ung dynamic friction ng surfaces by increasing ung coefficient of friction ng material kasi bawat type ng material may ibat ibang coefficient of friction.

      Pano madadagdagan o pinapalaki ang surface ng tinatanggalan ng bakal boss?
      Ibig sabihin po pa yung 1 inch ang lapad ng bakal ng bell kapag nilagyan ng groove magiging 1.3 inches?.. tandaan po FLAT SURFACE ang BELL AT CLUTCH
      At ano po epekto ng break in na sinasabi mo sa linear groove?
      Pakipaliwanag ng space inbetween na lumalabas na bakat sa clutch kung ang natitira ay may contact sa bell..
      Paki pakitaan na din po ng proof para mas masaya na lumalapad ang surface kapag binabawasan ang bakal..

      Surface area po kasi pinaguusapan (area w/c is square of a unit of distance square milimeter square inch square mete) so kung may surface ka dyan na sabin natin na 19mm (1.9cm) ung lapad ng contact nung bell tapos sabihn natin naung curcumference nung bell is 250mm(25cm) ang area nung surface is 4750 square mm. Nung nag regrove ka nagkaron ka ng width (flat) surface tpos depth( ung uka pababa) surface tapos width tapos depth natpos width ulit and so on. Imagine ung grove mo is 0.5mm ung lalim tapos meron kang 19 na grove so meron kang 8mm na na grove eh magkabila ung wall ng grove edi 19mm din ung surface nung depth surface remember ung tinabas na material ung surface na nawala lumalim lang so andun pari ung nawala lumalim lang so ang width parinng bell natin si 19mm tapos may 19pa tayo sa depth surface edi 38 mm na ung total na width surface (lapad). So same p din curcumference edi ang area natin ngaun is nadoble 9500 sq mm.
      Now di natin mautilize ung depth surface at ung surface na lumalim kasi wala pang contact dun sa lumalim, un ung pinopoint ko na need mabreak in ung clutch pad para magkaron din sya ng .5mm na lalaim na grove kasi after regrove halos 1/4 lang nung 9500sqmm na area ang naggagamit mo pag nagkaron na ng contact ung clutch dun sa depth at ung flat na surface na malalim un palang magamit mo ung 9500sqmm..

      @@GREASEMONK kaya gaya sa heat dessipation. Need mag increase ng surface area kaya ang ginawa ng mg engr imbis na block of copper ung copper nilalagyan ng fins. Gusto kasi nilang increase ung surface area..
      Same reason bakit ung isang brll mo dyan may grove sa labas gusto kasi nilang palaparin surface area para mas madaming quantity ng heat ang madespAte. Alam namn natin na may fan ung drive face so may hangin sa loob. Ayun kaya may grove sa labas ung isnag bell na hawak mo para mas malapad ung area na madikitan ng hangin.

      @@monbarbeche2467 sir ang groove sa loob paano mo susukatin ang accuracy ng contact sa side wall ng groove knowing na ang reciprocating part na yan hindi fix ang area of contact? at paano natin masasabi ngayon na magkakaroon efficient na friction yan na side wall ng groove... Ilan din litro ng gasolina or kilometers mo papalapatin ang clutch sa may linear groove mo so gaya sa example ang .5 mm na depth kunwari naabot na, how accurate ba ang wear out ng ibang groove ng bell knowing na ang kain ng clutch lining iba iba ang tatamaan?...
      Ako magbibigay ng sample sir.. kung sa flat surface nga hindi pantay ang kain ng clutch at bell paano masisigurado na pantay sa may groove? Again knowing na every contact ng clutch sa ibang area lalapat, di pa natin kinoconsider dyan ang mga clearances or normal na alog ng clutch shoe sa pole nya at normal na uneven form ng bell kapag luma na?..
      Yan po based yan sa ACTUAL assembly na nirerepair ko,
      ang bell kinakain ng clutch yan at as early as 5000km makikita mo na ang loob ng bell UNEVEN at ang surface ng clutch uneven din ang upod...

      Magandang hapon sir. Good point tama lahat sinabi mo moving parts ung clutch bell nag rereciprocate.. babalik tapos bubuka. Di natin alam kung sasakto ulit ung pag balik nung clutch sa surface.
      Solution : Tapered dapat ung grove and at the same time lakihan ung base ng grove around para may guide ung pad. And ung wear and tear nung clutch pad habang napupudpud kumakapit pa din. Tapered grove.
      Problem nung ilang litrong gas uubusin para lang mag lapat ung clutch, un tlaga ung rason bakit ung isang bell sa video mo mas pinili nalng palakasin ung friction kesa magrely sa surface area kasi kalimitan gamit nilang pad mas matigas ceramic base or kevlar base aabutin syam syam tlga paglapat nun. Pero kung sa mga stock pads mga organic base pads madali lang namn palapatin un.
      Anyway. Good job sa video sir at sa pag explain more power.. im pointing out lang namn na ung grove increases the surface area. It Doesnt decrease.

    Mas maganda ang knurling style sir..mas makapit at hindi agad mauubos ang linning...for example rachet handle naka knurling ang sarap hawakan npaka smooth at hindi madudulas ang kamay kahit pa mejo pawis na kamay..knurling type kc smooth ang kapit pagbuka ng linning kapit agad hindi sya madudulas..iwas tangos pa ng clutch..godbless sir..

    Mas mabuti na yun stock kesa sa groove na yan kaya drAgging issue ang palaging problema kay dpat stock n lng kc inilabas ni yamaha ni honda ni etchetera blah blah,walang groove ng ngayon kung gusto mabilis bumili ka na lng ng bigbike kesa kung ano ano pinakakalkal sa cvt kaya ayan dragging issue ok alright👍

    Idol. Yung screw or thread type na groove.nagproproduce ito ng outside or inside force.depende kung left or right thread.nagkakaroon ito friction sa both bearings ng shaft.     May nag explain na neto na mas may sense about sa surface area and yun din ang nasa utak ko.
    Peaks and valleys have more surface area than a flat area.
    thats why creating a groove surface will create more contact patch for the clutch pad to grip on.
    Try to measure the height of the grove and multiply it for how many line created then you will have the final surface area Vs the smooth surface. creating a pleats or groove or fins are one technic to increase surface area used for heat or cold transfer.. filtrations.. and friction transfer. in our case friction transfer. The more friction the better the grip equals good acceleration.

    ayos po ang paliwanag nyo kaya lang may konting kulang ,tama ung paliwanag sa original na surface ng Bell pero mas maganda parin po ung may groove kahit linear lang,kahit walang twist,kasi pag bumakat na po ung guhit sa clutch doon na magsisimula ung may malapad na traction ,logic lang din po ,ko contact narin kasi ung mga gilid ng canal na naukaan kaya mas malapad na ung contact di lang ung ibabaw at ilalim pati narin ung mga gilid,maari ngang mas malakas ung mga may twist or thread pero mas malakas parin ung linear kaysa stock lang,no offense po nagdadagdag lang ako ng konting logic din,slamat

      Tama! pag nagka guhit na ung lining lalaki na ung contact surface area. Yun ung hindi na analyze. Hnd ako professional na machinist, nag ooperate lng ako at nkaka intindi ng konti pero gsto ko yung locking idea ng nut and thread i apply dito sa bell

    Tapos yung regroove nila hindi pa pantay na straight, so uupudin niya yung clutch lining kasi hindi sasakto sa pagkakalapat ng lining sa groove. Yung groove nila parang tread lang ng screw.

    Ang prob kasi yung iba gusto makapit at aggressive na bell tapos mag ngangawa lakas daw kumaen linning. Stay stock kung tipid racing ka, mag upgrade ka kung performance ang hanap mo. Di pwede gusto nyo malakas tipid racing naman. More power sir sana very helpful video mo sa mga newbie

    Ito yung tama na dapat malaman nila...bell ko tabingi ang groove walang kadulas dulas...kailangan mo lng paresan ng matibay na lining...lhk lining da best..lathe machine operator ako sir pareho tayo ng tingin sa gawa ni rigs na groove...ewan ko ba bakit madami nabubudol sa bell na yun...hehe

    Ang metal surface na may grooves ay mas malaki ang surface area keysa sa bakal na flat and smooth surface tulad nung nasa stock.
    PERO, ang tanong ay kung nagagamit ung buong surface area na iyon. Also, dapat mag add ng resistance ung grooves against the direction of force to get better grip, kaya tama si sir tax, ang linear grooves are not truly effective.
    Ang goal ng efficient clutch engagement is to have a friction lock able to withstand the torque of the spinning clutch lining. So, oo, grooves in the bell will help but if done correctly. Sa case ng mga local na gumagawa ng grooves, andun ang idea, pero execution hindi ideal. Mas effective siguro sakanila kung naka malambot sila na lining that way mag uuka ung linear grooves nila into the lining then they would have more contact area than stock.
    Ganda ng analogy ni sir tax sa screw explanation pero ung sa stock bell, i dont think na ginawa nilang flat and smooth ang bell nila dahil sa 100% contact pero dahil it was the cheapest way and it works. Not the best, but it works. Hindi po dahil may 100% contact eh mas may friction. napakasmooth ng surface ng stock bell, but ang mga stock lining are just rough enough to grip and spin the bell. At kung mag ggroove ang companies ng stock bell nila i would imagine mas mabilis mag wear ng lining so hindi economical.

      Yung sa flat surface ng bell several times ko sya natanong sa mga taga big companies (engineers).. they all replied na as much as possible bigger area ang target nila na tumama sa bell to ensure friction/contact, yun lang din for them ang nearest possible way to ensure contact and materials sa clutch are actually for flat metal surfaces...
      Limot ko ang exact contents ng clutch lining but yes it is made kahit sa polished metal, kakapit sya, and based on my test din on actual and dyno mas malakas ang torque ng mga scooter with full contact na lining sa bell

    After ilang runs sa track panigurado tapon bell and clutch. Yung may pitch yung tread.
    Yung ibang nagpaparegroove naiisip ko talaga kung bakit lalo na pag diretso edi dulas lang ang mangyayari

    8:04 Idol, hindi po mababawasan..madadagdagan po..kasi aayon yung linya ng shoe dun sa groove..kaya lalapad ang contact. Pero dapat ndi ganan kapino tulad ng sample mo..ndi na kaya umayon ng breakshoe sa gnan kapino..

    Sa umpisa talagang nabawasan ug surface for friction,pero pag naholma na ung lining at nagka groove narin mas lumawak na ung surface for friction dahil sa mga kanal na nagawa
