RC ADVENTURES - FiRST RUN 2018 CAPO JK MAX & AXiAL "CANDY" - RiDE TOGETHER!

- We have landed in California, USA and the CAPO JK MAX & CANDY are ready to roll. This is my first time driving the JK MAX and wanted to take our audience away from the "normal" terrain for a truck that is so special. My Wife is also trying out her new truck, after I have upgraded it into more of a Monster. I have outfitted both trucks with the ESS DUAL Sound Box from Sense Innovations (amzn.to/2HLxn48).
These programmable sound units give us the ability to equip these amazing Radio Control Trucks a dynamic sound. This is the Maiden Voyage of my JK Max. This is the first Capo JK Max in the western world, and we just finished building it. See the Unboxing and Build series HERE: bit.ly/2HDEDTR

I have modified it, only by adding some 2.2 RC4WD Mudslingers (amzn.to/2HKt5Kn)
I must say the JK MAX - ALL METAL chassis, body panels and cage make this one of the most realistic vehicles I have ever driven. The 12lb weight makes this truck traverse the desert with a heavier footprint.. and certainly makes things a new experience! Slower is better, as the higher center of gravity, plus the added power of the transmission/motor combo.. makes this vehicle more prone to tipping. But, much like a full size vehicle, lines must be considered - as well as physics. There was nothing broken on my JK after this run in the desert - it was very solid.
Jem's truck "CANDY" was also exceptionally capable. Her excellent driving skills made short work of this unforgiving terrain - and she wheeled with confidence. There is a bonus of using a lighter truck.. as it is more agile - but suffers in the "realism" department. We don't mind at all - as this hobby is all about imagination!
Side by side these trucks roll together, and you are able to see the pros, and cons of each model! What a great opportunity for my wife and I to share some together time, out in the sun, having fun and enjoying smiles!!
Many viewers ask me about my cameras. Today, I used a Sony PWX-X70 for my main camera, as well as a GoPro Hero 6 to capture the slow motion footage at 240fps.

What a perfect place to do the first run on the husband and wife adventure.Just like most guys ,the husband got his new rig and is showing off for the misses as she is in her rig watching him,lol. Again medic what a fun video to watch and love the licence plates.
Man, the Jmax acts so realistic the way the suspension acts,& the body rolls. Candy is also quite a capable crawler. Nice,Man!

Awesome! Weight is good! I know that is not a popular thinking, most people prefer performance over realism. The way the JK MAX traverses terrain in bang on.
So at first i fell in love with candies sound kit, love that merica sound, but then i heard the blow-off valve sound and that never gets old! Im a boost junkie!

The capo is on another level. It looks so smooth and more realistic than gems. Gems is good but capo is hands down an awesome but of kit

Wow now that's a beautiful rig on the trail I loved the donuts with the small bursts of speed that things faster than I thought and the onboard audio sounds great,,,,great job on both trucks your wife's rig candy was awesome love the mudslingers on it.. as always thanks for sharing your adventures with us

Oh my.. everything about the truck is so beautiful and so scale.. and medic. You literally almost gave me a heart attack. I thought you were about to role it.. and if you didnt notice it seems like you switch around the front blinker lights.

That Jk needs to be on slingers like pinky! Different wheels and tires would give that rig a whole different look...slingers with no foam...conforming to the rocks...epic...🍻🍻
Yes, but I have learned that if I dont test a rig with its stock tires.. people get their panties in a knot.. Lol.

Amazing rig it’s so much more scale and 1/1 in its movements and flex. The way the heavy body shifts and makes it work is very scale

Hi Brad! Yes, and thank you. We have been coming to Cali for many years.. and I could not think of a better place to have our Maiden runs with CANDY and the JK! The Cove is stunning and is unusual territory for our show - though I have filmed here before. The JK and Bronco are in their natural element here.. and to know you were smiling - and surprised - makes it all worth while! A wonderful place you live.. we are always elated to visit!
Watching these vids, makes me want to get a crawler, and my new fox body slash 4x4 hasn't even shown up to my house yet lol. Looks like my 2nd RC will be a crawler. This looks like lot of fun.

That jeep us amazing what a cool build well worth the thousands it probably cost.
The Capo looks so much more realistic in its handling, because of the extra weight. The Axial is so jumpy and toy-like in comparison. I wonder if putting weights in the wheels of the JK MAX would further improve its handling by compensating for its high center of gravity..

a little surprised about your choice for the esc, I don't have a problem with Hobbywing 1080wp and have a couple installed, just expected you to use one of the big $$ ones.
Looks like it was a great trip and Jem getting a chance to have fun, you can tell right there at the beginning that the Winter doldrums are fading away.. she looks great, I mean her Candy, don't want to be sounding like a lech.
