@@svaresz I loved Hyundai for a while too. Had an 06 Elantra hand-me-down that's still running today at over 200k after I sold it. No idea what happened between 06, '12 and '17, but somewhere along the line their engines just started failing, and then they got better again. It's burning so much oil right now, about a quart every 150 miles on it's worst days. Love the way it looks, but man I miss that Elantra's reliability. Dealer's been saying I don't qualify for any extended warranty work relating to the engine failing, despite other 2nd owners getting the same stuff replaced for free. Really soured me to the brand and I'm not sure I'd get another one after all this. @@Caffeinated-DaVinci dealers suck ass, luck of the draw with them. Luckily haven’t needed any warranty work with either the ES or EN. That guy and his gf have a nice lil car collection, everything there is reasonably obtainable and just dirty enough to let you know they're all driven regularly. That's probably the happiest the car community has made me haha
VR6's, more so the older 12valve, one of the best sounding motors of all time. Don't care how much maintenance, or money it takes to maintain, or how much rust I have to fix on the chassis, that sound is worth every penny.
a MKIV VR6 is a childhood dream car of mine. My dad has one, I owned a MKIV NA 4cyl and the car was a wonder to own, and learn on. Currently own a 235i tho...
The VR6's sound so good though. The Corrado was pretty much an L in every possible way, but it sounded so good with the VR6 that people bought it anyway. I like the MK4 Jetta's looks, and if it sounds anything like the Corrado, it's a winner (while it lasts)
That '82 is ugly, but they did a facelift on the Celica in '83 or '84 that gave it pop-ups that look pretty dope. What I really respect about the '84 is that it's the last year the Celica was RWD. We had one with a 22RE when I was a kid. It had something like 386k on the odometer, and I'm pretty sure the only thing wrong with it was that it needed a fan clutch. I have a real soft spot for these.
Plastic timing chain guides are nothing new. Mercedes has been using them since the seventies. Its just they have figured out how to use them in planed obsolescence.
That Miata wing would look really good paint matched I feel like, just a nice respectable paint matched non gt wing on a roadster nothing wrong with it
I've never related to a video title more. Especially today, brand new engine, after first one blew to timing issues. I was idling it for the second start till it got to temperature to confirm the timing and that there was no timing drift at higher rpm. Engine oil pressure went from 60-80 to around 30 some psi. I noticed luckily and began to stare at it when my oil light came on indicating pressure below 14psi. I immediately cut the engine off. I started back to 30 some psi of oil pressure, and it dropped again and I cut it off immediately. I stopped there and am going to replace ACL Oil pump with a factory honda oil pump. Will replace oil press sensor too just incase, but it's a stainless aem sensor so it's likely fine. Man round 2 isn't going so well right now.
You're wrong, the best engine for those Jettas is the 1.9TDI not fast but, you can tune them for a lot of tq and they can get like 50mpg hwy which is still totally respectable and its a non emissions diesel that is more simple than the 2.0s.
Ive owned 2 mk4 vw's and while i liked the cars and styling, the engines were junk! I had a 2.slow that had a waterpump failure because they made the impeller blades plastic, ended up having timing issues after i sold it. Then had a 1.8t and every hose under the hood started rotting out. Those dumb molded hoses were too expensive! It had electrical gremlins and i went through 3 ignition switches before trading it in. Idk what vw was thinking with the mk4, they didnt do a good job engineering any of those cars!
