I am in Africa. This has disturbed me.
However, it is written, "Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted (Galatians 6:1).
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall
(Corinthians 10:12)".
God bless you. The whole situation is very sad, but Jesus Christ our hope is in Jesus, not human. Let’s continue to pray for Steve and everyone impacted by this.
Good word my friend.
Restore to fellowship in the body of he has repentance, not restored to ministry. Notice the passage says if someone, that means any believer. However once you apply the other texts about the qualifications of an elder/pastor there is no support for restoring a person to that office.
@@jonathansteele1057 yes there is. The gifts and callings of God are WITHOUT repentance. If he doesn’t continue in ministry he will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
@@rodneybeasley1220 being in ministry does not keep a person in the kingdom, that would be a works based salvation. No protestant believes that. We are saved by grace through faith, we don't maintain that by being in the church or in ministry. Repentance is a result of true faith not the cause for justification.
I'm praying for Steve Lawson, his family, his church, and his repentance
Some years back I took on a job which would have involved me staying away in hotels around the UK several nights a week. I'm a single guy and have no wife to cheat on but even then I felt like the loneliness of staying in hotels and the opportunity to meet female guests at those hotels might present a real danger. I ended up not staying with the job for unrelated reasons and I'm glad of that.
Straight up wisdom 👍. There’s so much to learn from this sad situation. We pray for God’s wisdom.
That is good
Unlike you, professed Christian hockey player Laurie Boschman had no difficulty playing for an NHL team named the Devils.
God certainly does forgive sins , But he taketh vengeance of their inventions. Look at the evil and calamities that befell David and his family after his adultery with Bathsheba. It's very different to fall into a sin, and to repent then and there. But how can God forgive the living in conscience sin for so long a time ..... I just don't know .
@@arthurkaye8999 conscious not conscience
We must pray for this church, Steve Lawson, his family and the lady involved.
Really??? Jesus said; "Matthew 18:6 (KJV) But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Let this man be accursed for what he has done to the Body of Christ and this young woman. He prayed on her no doubt. The only way for them to have interactions is for him to have met her on the internet. He's a predator.
Amen! 💙
@@christiroseifyyes! Really! We should pray for them 🙏

Every human alive is corruptible and subject to vanity.
Some are held to a higher standard. And this situation shows why.
It's a genetic defect on a spiritual level. That's what sin is
We are not sinners because we sin
We sin because we are sinners.
From birth our flesh is corrupt.
Almost like there’s no Holy Spirit supposedly helping Christian’s to be more holy or whatever.
@@togborne People can grieve and reject the Holy Spirit. He will not force a person to conform to a path of holiness, but those who are truly saved will not stay in that rebellion against Him.
@@Lonesoul9791 always an excuse huh? We are talking about an all powerful being here and he’s that easy to resist, it suggests he’s not that powerful.
It's sad how I almost fall into sin these last few months and part of me was glad it didn't happen though am filled with guilt and shame by it, but our merciful God granted me me the chance to fast and I did
We are always being tested. God is so patient with us. God bless you. Put up boundaries. You can let others know what they are.
Praying for Steve Larson I understand as a Christian that failed many times that this could happen to anyone by the grace of God there go l Prayers up for the Pastor Steve Larson may God restore his life in Jesus name we pray
There is NO SUCH THING AS A PRIVATE SIN!!!!!
Amen!
Covered up sin.
What happened in the dark will be brought to light, God is cleaning up the church
The Scriptures are clear that they are to be removed from fellowship. He lived a double life for 5 years, deceiving those who respected him and paid attention to his preaching. This is hypocrisy. If he is truly repentant, then other leaders must walk this journey of restoration with him, but never restoration to ministry or any leadership position because he no longer qualifies.
I concur. His pastorate is forfeit. The last sermon he preached before this came out is particularly concerning as well.
Who said he lived a double life? All he would have had to do is say she was his granddaughter and nobody would have thought anything about her being at all the conferences. He could have spent all the time he wanted with her.

If this was of a charismaniac "pastor" it wouldn't shock me but Steve lawson!!!!!!!I don't prop up any person but man he was an exceptional preacher!!!!!May He find true repentance and I still love the man .
Amen.
Agree
What really made him an exceptional preacher though? Was it because he knew all the reformed lingo and was a good public speaker? I mean what really set him apart from any other reformed Calvinistic preacher other than the fact he had a "passionate" way of speaking?
Charismatic does not equal "maniac", unless you are willing to call Paul and the rest of the disciples the same 🙄.
@dianeandjesus hahahahaha you can't lop the apostle in with today's charismaniacs but you can with all the pagan worshippers in the bible.
We must all be stronger against temptation.
Yes, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome temptation. Amen.
Has anyone else noticed its usually the ones who condemn the most are the ones doing the sin they preach and condemn others of doing?
I agree!😏
So true
He needs to be removed let not made no excuses for this pastor Steve Lawson he can't be pastor anymore don't made excuses for this pastor
We hear you, angel who never sinned
Steve has been removed from ALL ministry positions.
The Bible tell us we need to restore a brother who sins if they are repentant and willing to turn from their sin. He will have real consequences for his sin regardless.

Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. Deut. 27:18.
@@NoreneCurran There is a vast difference between contrition and confession for a sin committed, than being sorry for the consequences of it.
Paul presents repentance as a godly sorrow for sin, that worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation.
Without sorrow for sin, there can be no repentance that will lead to salvation.
If this fruit is found, then the person may be restored to the fold, but never to the pulpit, for a bishop must be blameless.
The word blameless tells us all that it means.
It cannot be made much plainer than it is.
The definition of the Greek word is, not open to be attacked.
Webster's definition is: Without fault, innocent, guiltless, not meriting censure.
We speak of a thing being blameless when it is free from blame, or the just imputation of fault, as a blameless life of character.
A bishop being blameless signifies one whose life is so fully conformed to the rules of right that no one can justly lay blame upon him, or find fault with him.
This man seems to be offering grace, mercy & love towards Steve Lawson. We are ALL sinners saved by faith through grace by Jesus Christ . Please pray for out spiritual, political, educational & other leaders.❤❤❤
I happen to agree w/ taking down his sermons , We have yet to hear that Lawson has REPENTED and he did not go to the elders to repent but the father of the girl informed them , Listen to his last speech to his church , he took scripture out of context , and said you can not judge a mans whole work by one bad choice / 5 years is way more than ONE BAD CHOICE . Until he repents his speeches should be taken down . For 5 years ?????? that we now know about ... I must confess he was in my top 4 pastors I could trust was the real deal , MY BAD . PROV : 27-19
Jim, fyi, Calvinism reformed theology are deceptive works of the satan. Your choice bro
We better take away all the psalms. Half of which were written during and after Davids murder and adultery.
@@nickfedor210 I think David "REPENTED"
Martin Luther never repented about the awful things he said about the jews. That was the basis for 5 to 6 million people to be unalived. His other material is still around.
@@nickfedor210 Also, with the deepest respect, you're making a terrible argument. We as mere humans do not have any editorial rights or authority over the infallible and God-breathed word of the holy scriptures. The canon is closed. Only God has authority to decide who's writings should and shouldn't be included in the holy scriptures, and we have no say in that whatsoever. By contrast, we do have editorial rights over the different ministerial platforms which the Lord has entrusted to us, and thus we can in fact remove content/sermons from teachers who have brought reproach to the name of the Lord by living in unrepentant sin. May God bring Steve Lawson to true repentance and comfort all devastated by this tragic news.
We should pray for his wife and their marriage. Imagine her pain. Thank God this was revealed while they could reconcile and learn about Gods mercy.
It's a hard road staying on the narrow path, in today's world, but not impossile.
Steve Lawson lost his standing to preach and sheperd his flock due to his relationship for 5 years with a woman who isn't his wife. He is not above reproach. He is not kicked out as a brother in Christ unless he doesn't repent. Sin is serious and we need to take that seriously.
David repented but Steve Lawson didn't. This is the BIG DIFFERENCE regarding deleted his materials.
David repented when he got caught. Did you forget the prophet who came to David and told him the punishment he'll receive? You have no idea what Steve Lawson will do now, but he has a chance for repentance. In which state he is now you or i have no idea.
Psalm 51 was written a year after David’s sin with Bathsheba. It could take time for Steve to repent and he may fight it rather than face the reality at how bad it is. It’s Very sad and my heart goes out to his wife and children. His church will be hurting also. It has such a ripple effect 😢
Your comparison is terrible. What David did was actually way worse. David didn't repent, and had Bathshebas husband killed. Only long after did David repent, and how do you know what Lawson has done?
@@mayjohn1072 , David REPENTESD when prophet Nathan OPENED his eyes regarding David's sin (2 Sam. 12:13). David was NOT "caught". Until now Steve Lawson DIDN'T repented. He was FORCED to ADMIT his 5 years PERVERS romantic relationship with a women who was 20 years old at the beginning. When a man who is 68 years old, and who is a CHRISTIAN PASTOR/PREACHER, get involved with a girl of 20 years old this is SICK, a PERVERS thing.
@@ChadApplin , Actually what Steve Lawson DID is TERRIBLE not my comparison. He was FORCED to ADMIT his 5 years PERVERS romantic relationship with a women who was 20 years old at the beginning. I'm very grieved but God is merciful.
Lots of Christians say if you're burning for women, you should get married but i hope this proves that marriage doesn't stop people from sinning sexually.
Right on 8674. Married, not dead.
Let him among you that has no sin cast the first stone.
1 Corinthians 5:9-13 deals with exactly this issue. I am surprised and extremely saddened by how many people here do not know scripture. Be in The Word daily and stand firmly upon it.
What? Do you we just sweep this under the mat. The church of Christ is reeling, saddened, confused. No she wants answers.
@@arthurkaye8999 First off there's no she involved. And no we do not sweep it under the rug you get this man help just like you would anybody out there on the street that you're trying to bring to Christ. Should he be in ministry again no, should he be forgiven, do you want to be forgiven, well that's how it works.
Pastors should stay home and take care of their own flock in their Church.
Exactly 👍
Remove deception, hold fast to truth!!
I don't seem to hear enough people commenting on how harshly Steve Lawson preached about purity, godliness and resisting temptation... and for 5 YEARS he was living in gross sin?! He was quite condemning and even self-righteous in many of his sermons. I think his followers on social media, his poor family and those in his congregation have every right to be angry, frustrated and hurt over his hypocrisy! And the vague, weird way his church is dealing with it is shameful. They seem to be MUCH more concerned with their own damage control than being honest and clear about what happened. And an NDA?! How is that biblical? Looks to me like they are just trying to erase him and hope everyone forgets about it. I'm so disgusted with church leadership that doesn't seem to operate any differently than our politicians.
I have a rule not to be alone with a woman who is not my wife. I've gotten scoffs at that a few times, but I don't care, it works for me.
Ride on brother. The key word is “I don’t care” People can mock and scoff at you but you have to do what you have to do to protect yourself. God bless and keep you.
And that is the right and godly thing to do.
Look man nobody cares about your role you guys are a bunch of snakes anyway
Yet. Look at all of us. We take the words of David and apply them to daily living regardless of the fact that he killed a man to have his wife. Just something to think on.
But the scriptures make it plain that Steve Lawson disqualified himself from ministry.
We take the words of the Holy Spirit through David. Not a fallen man’s word. Huge difference.
@@clintbeck5380 Don’t agree.
@@digitalwasabi2 Yes he did but my comment was about those churches who immediately disqualified him and removed his teachings. if his teachings were on point to scripture then why remove them. A fallen man does not mean all he did was wrong just the sin he committed is.
Not the same situation at all
Victims recognize the signs of "those who are secretly living the way they are preaching the hardest against" - my first exposure to Steve Lawson's messages was in 2015. I am primarily homebound, and plug in to online Biblical teaching daily. I was working my way through all of MacArthur's NT sermons at that time. A fellow "student" of MacArthur's sermons emailed me clips of Steve Lawson's sermons from time to time, and, I tried as best I could to listen to Lawson's preaching, but, it simply was too disturbing to my spirit. That said - I'm not at all surprised. And, I'm not surprised that Lawson himself is not yet speaking up - because he is proud, he is self-deceived and believes he is entitled. Until he himself falls on his human face before an Almighty God... until Lawson is consumed with self-horror at the damage he, himself, has dumped on his wife, his family, and the other young women he has hurt - yes, I am sure there are others before this most recent girl, there will never be a valid and true voice of repentance heard from Lawson. God is rooting out the hypocrits standing in the pulpits - next, God will teach those who remain why so many of their brethren have fallen.
Truth is - this truly isn't about a preacher who couldn't keep his pants up around a young attractive woman. Nope - this isn't about that at all. I have no doubt that his wife has suffered for decades, being the silent, supportive, God-fearing, dutiful wife of a man who has nothing but disgust for women, but clothes that disgust in authoritative assertions from the pulpit and within the home.
Olowooza tokubye nyo 😒
I would normally feel more compassionate towards the man, recognising how easy it is for anyone to fall (especially in these evil times); but the thing that vexes me the most about it, is how he was preaching at people, implying they weren't Christians etc if they were committing sin not even half as bad as his. Using the Word of God like a sword with only one edge to strike others, and not like a double-edged sword to strike at his own heart.
No man is perfect. Even David who was a man after God heart was not free from committed sin let's pray for our brother in Christ and have a forgiveness heart
Its why, Billy Graham

5 years of lying and misrepresenting Jesus? That's not a stumble. That was an intentional choice. Where's the repentance? So quick to dismiss betrayal and sweep it under the rug.

David was a man after Gods own heart but he also wasn’t sealed with the Holy Spirit. God chastens his true sons and keeps them from committing adultery. Imagine the degree of deception involved in Five years of carrying on an adulterous relationship. God knows who his true children are but this man’s character is suspect. There is a lack of reverence for God and a lack of a hatred for sin in our world. True believers overcome sin. Remember the road is narrow.

I remember years ago, my pastor was such a Godly man, and he saw my teenage daughter walking to church alone. He later apologized for not stopping and giving her a ride but now I understand.
Good bc 99% of women & men don’t even dress modestly even to church.
We need to remember that it’s not our job to judge but to pray for these people who are struggling in sin and to pray for ourselves who are living in sin to better ourselves.
It was well pointed out that the instruction against temptation from sexual immorality is to flee.
We are accountable to our sins, we are commanded to confess our very works of inequity to our Gracious Father. Glory be to Lord Jesus, being washed in His redeeming blood, and the indweltness of The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth.

'Nuff said.
We are to judge those within the church
1 Cor 5:12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?
'Nuff said 😐🤦🏼♂️
The difference would be that one should not judge someone's salvation, but rather their actions. Even then, one should not judge another if one is living the same sinful ways. Judge righteously, not hypocritically.
James 4:12 There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
It's not the same. The woman in that situation had no understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was not raised up by God to be a teacher and preacher of God's word. Agree!😏
I fully agree!
Where sin abounds grace abounds much more. Any of us is capable of this and much more.
God provided a simple way to be restored 1 John 1:9.
While it is sad and I hate the fact that some people will use this against Christ, Lawson is just a man. He has been a good teacher and preacher, but still just a man. Any of us can fail at any time, this does not mean we and all our work is worthless or wasted. If we will keep our trust in Jesus and the Bible, and not men nor denominations, then we can easily forgive and help this brother to get through this time and this sin. It does not need to be the end.
Never trust in men. Love these brothers in Christ and appreciate the good work they do, but remember they are fallible men, like the rest of us.
Trust in Jesus and the Bible.
Why do we not think any of none of us, no matter who it is , can not fall into this sin and if nor “worse” this why we need to through ourselves on the floor in humble repentance, praying for Yahweh mercy.
Saints we all sin and fall short of the Glory of God. Let us not forget that. Thank u Lord for U are love
1) It is foolish to judge without listening to the other party.
2) God forbids hasty judgment.
3) Repentance after exposure is also God's action (situation with David).
4) Repentance and not denying sin - that is what is important.
5) False guesses, suspicions, and spreading slander in the body of Christ are an abomination before God. The one who does this is no better than an adulterer, but worse because they destroy and litter the body of Christ.
Don't play the devil's pipe.
Pray for Steve, everyone involved, the elders, and the church.
When a Man of God is caught in sin, the sheep and the goats separate themselves.
Right now, I'm thanking God for my discernment. For some reason I just could not listen to his sermons. I by no means condemn him and will have him in my prayers. I'm just thankful for my discernment.
His sermons were really good, solid and blessed many. Maybe you didn't want to listen to any but we don't stop learning from someone just because they fell into sin. To think they cannot teach or that their past teaching is invalid, that's lack of discernment.
Amen brother. I am shocked, heatbroken and many other things but I am mostly sad on how Steve has been treated. This is why many people turn away from the church. Even though I understand he was caught, the mere fact that this happened means God is merciful and giving him an opportunity to repent. Let's pray for Steve and that he may open his eyes to all the wrong he was doing 🙏
I agree that his sermons should not be deleted.
How can an adulterer preach an unadulterated Gospel?? 😂
Specially the last 5 years.
King David's repentance was sincere and deep, not covering his sin
These things are happening because of IDOLATRY of Pastors. Jesus should ALWAYS be our FOCUS!!!!
I don't think they are happening because of that, it's more the lust of men. But the "idolatry of pastor" does affect how they are raised up and the harder they then fall. And your main point is great. Jesus should always be the focus.
let us focus more on the solution than on the problem because problems don't solve problems but solutions do
Are we so blind that no one in the church has the spirit of discernment?
Holier than thous are a stench in the nostrils of God.
I still believe as Christians we need to pray for him that he will continue to repent for this sin. Pray for his family that they can stay strong through this. In the beginning I said that he should leave ministering for a time that he can get back to righteousness with God, but now that I know he has carried on for years and not just a weak mistake, he needs to be permanently removed from preaching, but we still need to stand with him, pray for him, and have faith that he will get back on the right path to the kingdom. God bless all involved. 🙏
Stay in prayer and scripture lest you fall in sin! I am praying for all involved. That said sound teaching is very important and shouldn't be removed because folks need sound biblical teaching.
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Should he be removed from fellowship/ teaching, etc? He needs to repent if he hasn't.. and turn from sin. He gave good sound doctrine. Let God be the decision maker in this situation. We're all tempted and sometimes succumb to sin. Pray for him and everyone affected. 🙏
God has already made his decision and we find his answer in the Word of God. It is sufficient. The qualifications for an elder, pastor, preacher are clear.

Forgiveness yes. Mercy yes. Love yes. EXCUSES NO! His wife was also alone without him. ❤
How about we call a spade a spade and call it adultery! No moe soft euphemisms!
How about we don’t make assumptions unless we have literal facts? Even in a court of law …you need evidence sir! Do you know anything of bearing false witness…so let’s give it some time for full revelation.
Men and women need not meet alone for any reason. There the temptations rise.
But Mr. Lawson did not repent, he got caught, his ministry has been tainted because of this, I’m saddened. praying for his entire family and the other woman.
The adulterous woman was caught right in the act. What did Jesus do? We should follow after the example laid by Christ and run away from this holier than thou attitude.
His teachings have no problem, his teachings shows light.
Pray Steve too.
Something important to think about. A pastor is in a place of power therefore when an insecure young lady is paid attention she feels important and worthy. When a relationship goes too far she is the vulnerable one .
Stop the none sense. She and he are equally responsible. Only one’s sinfulness makes him or her vulnerable not the power of another person
@@graceviewsc leaders / teachers are given more responsibility, I guess we will agree to disagree on that topic. I’m not saying it’s not sin for both but I still believe she is more vulnerable

I totally get temptation but a good conscience will not let you sleep. That's what I don't get.
Temptation is not sin, rather it can lead to sin or blessing. As the Word says blessed is the man who endures temptation.

@@frublomkvist. A 70 year old man and a twenty year old girl. Is it not possible he knew her younger. Robert Morrison admitted to involvement with a young lady. It only came out later she was minor. They always admit to a lesser crime.
So yes I can count multiple pastors lying about who they are sexual with.
@@RomanticImages Perhaps I’m too gullible and naive, but I hope not that all pastors who are doing “ inappropriate “ things aren’t pedophiles like Robert Morris.
thanks for the video and prayers.
Steve Lawson, more than anyone else in the many years that I have been born again, has influenced my theology and Christian life. His series on the attributes of God exposed how I had “squeezed” God into God is love, which He is, and shortsighted myself to His other attributes, such as wrath, justice, judgment, and vengeance. His teaching on the Trinitarian Jesus, the resurrected Jesus, showed how I had also locked Him into the Godman Jesus of the gospels, ignoring the resurrected Jesus who threatened churches in Revelation with serious consequences if they didn’t repent. It showed me that the Trinitarian Jesus, God the Son, is demanding when it comes to sin in the church - and in my life. Stop sinning! Steve’s teachings unmasked the sentimentalist Jesus I had grown accustomed to who is soft on sin: the Jesus of most of the American church and in my life: not the “real” Jesus. God used Steve to instill in me that Jesus “demands” me to live a holy life. I believe when saved you are saved forever. But Jesus is also my Judge, and of all born-again believers. He died so He will see the agony of His soul and be satisfied (Isaiah 53: 11); all born-again believers are the agony of His soul. And I want Him to be fully satisfied with me because I took sin seriously beyond new birth to live a holy life. God used Steve Lawson to teach me it and to move forward to where I am today - and the knowledge of the Word to keep moving forward until I reach heaven. Never once did I think of him as a celebrity preacher, nor on a pedestal - only as a man who rightly divided the Word of God. Be careful how you denigrate his work. And him. You could be guilty of sin right along with Steve.
Pastors, teachers, leaders of all sides are prone to sin .It is so much more glaring when a Calvinist sins like Lawson did. The reason being is that they are so condescending. I know, I was a Reformed, Orthodox Presbyterian, Calvinist for 57 years. We all idolized different past and current pillars in the faith. From Calvin, Knox, and Machen, to Sproul, McArthur, Bauchman, & Washer. We all quoted or used their sayings in our sermons, theology, and doctrinal conversations.
I suspect that Reformed Baptists, and PCA folk had their own mini circle of idols like we OPCers did. Heck, I loved Piper's books, I listened to Begg for years. B.B. Warfield, Ferguson, Ryken, Horton, Beeke, & Boice were all great influences.
The problem began with these Reformed Conferences the various camps started. Many of these men stopped being preachers/shepherds and became Reformed Rock Stars. White, Lawson, Washer, McArthur, and to some extent Sproul began to believe and relish this status.
There is something fundamentally wrong with a doctrine and by extension a local church that allows something like Lawson's sin go on for five plus years. When Pastors are away from their churches at 2-4 day conferences as much as 3-4 times per year, there is no real accountability. "Things" begin to be neglected, wife, children, grandchildren, flock, God, etc.
The elders of Lawson's church should have seen something, there is no way that Lawson could not have shown something to indicate what he was involved in.
Calvinism has done more harm to the Church than anything else besides Roman Catholicism.
The reason I grieve for Lawson and his ilk, is because he has a form of godliness but denies it's power.
2 Tim. 3:1-9 sums up this current situation. Lawson regularly was a boaster, proud, unloving, unforgiving, a slanderer, obviously did not have self-control, was head-strong, and obviously a lover of pleasure.
Unfortunately, Calvinist's resist the truth, 2 Tim 3:8, thus are disapproved concerning the faith. Verse 9 tells us that these men will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was (Jannes & Jambres).
I have watched countless videos of Reformed men and women commenting on Lawson. None of them have used Scripture to rebuke Lawson. They all have used the Scriptures to restore him. Yes, he can be forgiven and hopefully he will repent. That is important to his future.
What is important to the Church, the Bride of Christ is to debunk this spurious doctrine that has plagued it for 1400 years. I implore people to get rid of your Westminster Standards, and Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion and read, study, and pray the Scriptures. Micah 6:8!
Thank you! Very well said! The Word of God is pure and It's all we need as believers in Christ!
Thank you for taking the time to write this. I couldn't put my finger on what seemed so 'wrong' about this whole situation and you have kindly articulated it - "no one is using scripture to rebuke him only [to silence the shocked flock and] restore him".
@@bonitaphillips359 Thank you, and Jesus gets the glory! He led me out of the Reformed quagmire! Post Tenebras Lux!
Phil Johnson should not be butting things on social media. The church is handling it. Makes me sick. Hes being messy in an already devestating situation. Who needs enemies when you have fellow Christians doung things like that. Its not ok at all what Mr. Lawson did and the church has taken the appropriate actions.
and let the pharisees put down their stones.
Phil Johnson should have stayed out of it. He is just stating prideful gossip. I am hugely disappointed in Johnson. He should have left disclosures up to the person or church where this happened. If Phil Johnson expects to take the place of John MacArthur when he retires, Johnson needs to learn humility as a servant of God and His church.
I thought what Phil said was appropriate. We count on this level of accountability from leadership. This is a globally known ministry and he was correct to point out both the length of time of the inappropriate relationship and the motivation behind the confession. Both of those reveal Lawson’s heart and desire to cover his sin.
Humility in Calvinism reformed theology??? What’s next , you’re citing love???
Lord have mercy on these demonic theologies.
@@truthseeker5698 you should not be accusing the brethren, I would be very careful if I were you. that takes courage to call godly men demonic.
@@SaltAndGracePoetry Their theologies are demonic. Did Jesus not say get behind me Satan to Peter , yet he built the church on Him, poetically speaking?
As a follower of Jesus The Messiah, I call
out calvies and reformers all the time.
Maybe some will turn away from
the demonic deception they’re under.
Phil Johnson is the worst.... period!
I agree that deleting Steve's Sermons is reprehensible. This man is such a powerful preacher and to do this to him is outrageous! If he was unrepentant and rejected the discipline of his church then possibly you would remove his teaching, but come on.
This is a good example of why this has happened and will continue to happen. Excuses!
"My people's greatest need is my personal holiness!" Robert Murray McCheyne
When Steve reportedly said he didn't stick around after sermons to talk to the people because he had to guard his time.... that right there is a nuanced red flag that could have been and easily was dismissed. Signs were there along the way. We learn from these kinds of mistakes.
Lightning strikes the highest point. Sadly, as long as we are alive, we earthlings are ALL painfully human. Satan will literally go to the ends of the earth to discredit the glorious gospel of Christ!
Someone answer this… why is it that when I knowingly sin I can’t pray, read my Bible, or go to church because I feel so horrible but this man can stand up and preach to an entire congregation without a second thought??!!! Does he not believe the Bible? This is not some member of the church THIS IS THE PASTOR!!! Such a liar, such a false teacher!!!!!
Exactly!
