CodeRed6239, it’s absolutely gorgeous. The red, the first time you see it, it’s amazing. Mind you, when I went, there wasn’t internet readily available, just guide books (actual books! Lol).
I visited in 2009 and was alone. My Carlyle ancestors would have been familiar with the castle and then with the ruins. I found sitting and breathing and feeling to be a very moving experience. I have a photo of the ruins in my living room.
I don't what restoration cost would be . The stone work for the most part looks intact . Sure many areas needs work just wish they could at least get a roof on it to help preserve. Love the video people like you guys are great . Thank you and keep them recording. I am here 🌎 you are here.🌍
Wow what a breathtaking location! Really amazing, these recordings were really successful! Greetings from Germany and stay healthy!you have a New subscriber 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for filming this as I would really like to see it in person. My mother is a Maxwell and we are related to Eustace Maxwell whowas on the side of the Brits and then switched over to be with Robert the Bruce. I read where he was the knight who carried Robert the Bruce's heart in a box into battle. I wonder if this is where Mel Gibson got the idea for the name "Brave Heart" .
💖 I would give anything to touch the family walls. Blood on that land as they faught for Scotland. One of last strong holds. The English took it many times but we always faught it back. Its a shame we left scottland taking the two chieftons with us to keep them safe. Now all we held dear is lost forever.
Shame: you had your chance in 2014. You get what you deserve. You leave Britain and you still have The EU. Hopefully you'll get it right in the future.
@@Itsaboutthewaterlife wth you are going on about too. 2014 do you realize how many Maxwells are about. Elliott Maxwell was already in Scottland so go on him ask him why he did not claim it
My great grandfather was a Maxwell. His name was Jonathan Dixon Maxwell. He was the maker of the Maxwell car. He and his wife lived in New York and retired to Worton Manor.
The pictures don’t do it justice. It is so amazingly red. I’m a Maxwell (3rd generation). Gorgeous place. Well worth the trip
I’m planning a trip to see it. I traced my line back to Clan Maxwell and Clan Pollock.
