I just want you to know that you are adorable and always bring a bit of sunshine into my weekday. I have been watching your channel for several years and consider it one of my favorites. Love your bright and happy vacation wardrobe. I think I’ll try those knit shorts.
Sewing and planning a vacation weardrobe is such fun. I am working on cold weather stuff here. It got to minus 8 degrees last night!!! Spring is so far off right now I would not really be able to wear warm weather stuff till April or May....I am in Colorado's Westernslope. I love the swimsuit with the flutter sleeves! I was thinking before you said you did not like your hair that it was looking really nice. It really frames your face beautifully.
Thanks Whitney! I haven’t sewn those patterns yet although I have both books. That’s in my future sewing plans. Thanks so much for your channel and all your work!!
Great plans. Hope you will include some sew along video. Really miss watching you sewing and your tips. The reason I watch is to learn from your sewing expertise, not just your plans and ideas.
Great timing; I’m in the middle of sewing items for my upcoming trip to Africa. 6 weeks with only a carry-on…yes, I’m stressed. So very interested to see what you’ll be sewing. You often accompany me as I plan and sew wardrobe pieces, so I will definitely be signing up for your youtube membership plan. You’ve provided me with so much great advice and entertainment so I’m more than happy to support the channel! Keep up the great work!
Whitney, you always inspire my sewing, I appreciate it so much; but this time you inspired me in a different direction. I was contemplating my very post menopausal scrawny legs this morning, which used to be all muscle (bragging), and although I’m in my seventies, it’s never too late to start. So thank you for telling your story (I had surgical menopause too), it was just what I needed to hear to encourage me to embark on a carefully crafted, effective exercise routine, weights included.
Sewing for me is my midwest warm weather 4 by 4 capsule wardrobe. When I retired last July last I honestly did not have enough clothes to last a week with my change in lifestyle. 4 different Love Notion solid color and the Evanston Vest. I am also adding a free topper and top in March for the Sew Frugal challenge. 😊 Membership, because I dislike email reading in general I would love the conversation and discount codes right here on You Tube.😊
I'm sewing a fleece hoodie jacket while I watch - it's 15 degrees Fahrenheit here - I love winter and have so many cozy things I want to make that I can't begin to think about summer but I enjoyed hearing your ideas and hope you are able to carry out at least a few of them!
Hello Whitney. You will love the PE Just Peachy shorts, I have made two pairs and I hope to make more. Another suggestion for you to make are both the 'Holiday Vibes' or the 'Palazzo Pants' by Pattern Emporium. I look forward to seeing your Itch to Stitch dress. As always, much love to the beautiful Gidget ❤❤❤
I can’t seem to ever want to sew the season ahead, I’m always glad to sew in the midst of the current season. Like right now, I’ve the Itch to Stitch Orono sweatshirt cut out, hoping to sew it up before the weekend. That’s one of the first Indy patterns I bought when I first discovered Indy patterns, but I’ve never made it. I was reminded of it this past weekend when I ended up organizing all my print shop patterns. I haven’t even bothered to make any adjustments other than to shorten the sleeves a little. I cut out a straight size 18 and how it comes out is how it comes out. Likely it will be too long on me, but I’m just anxious to have another cozy top. I haven’t managed to sew anything new since before Christmas, so I definitely have the itch.
As a Floridian, I say “come on down”! This crazy spell of cold weather we’re having should have passed by then😊. Thanks for all of the information and inspiration you provide through this channel.
Re bathing suit, the ugh part of our middle is usually below the waist, so I wouldn’t worry. That green suit is so cute! 😮You could add a 2 or 3” band under the bra top. That might look better than cropping that flared tankini top.
Whitney, what fun sewing plans you have for your trip. The I2S dress will be lovely in the fabric you’ve chosen. And this video is perfectly timed for me😊. I’m working on a capsule wardrobe as we speak for a trip to Italy 🤗 I have a few PE patterns selected. Love a good teaser, what is the pattern in the background and oh, a new pattern release coming soon🤭
-It's the Cashmerette Foxhill Dress. I chatted about it in this video: th-cam.com/video/qEKt1eTdi3Y/w-d-xo.html Stay tuned for a couple new patterns coming!
I spent the whole weekend working on a fully lined wool coat only to spend 3 hours taking the whole thing apart due to an issue with how I projected the pattern. Ugh! Hoping I can salvage. That suit is really cute. I might have to try something similar.
Yes! Just made the PE Seachange jumpsuit in a flowered viscose and a Tessuti Harlow shirt in white linen. Now hoping to make a Greenstyle Waimea rash and Hanna swim short. We will see. I leave on the 30th. I am aiming for all me-made. Not sure I will have a "cohesive colour palette" like you!!
❤❤ surely you aren’t bitting off more than you can handle. All sounds lots of fun. Hope the matching pjs with different pipping colours make the must make list. I assume new swimmers are also a must 😂
Haha--I'm the worst at over committing when I'm sewing but I know that at least half of it will get sewn because we are in a cold snap and there's no reason to leave my sewing room!
Apologies if you mentioned it in another video, but what is that fabulous blue dress in the background? I could see myself wearing something like that. 😍
0:13 Love the idea of matching pj's with the piping! What is your favorite type ( I mean the fabric content) of French terry to buy? I hate it when it pills after a few washes.....
My favorite French Terry is cotton/spandex. While the bamboo and rayon feels really soft, I like the longevity and structure in a cotton/spandex French Terry.
In regard to your swimsuit idea: I don’t know if you have or use 5oo4 patterns? They have the Laura swimsuit which has a ruffle option on the strap. If you have it, it might give you a start for your plans. Just an idea 😊
I sewed two pairs of palazzo pants from stash fabric for my hot-and-sunny sit-by-the-pool holiday (vacation) last summer. I wore them so much while I was away, and not since. I'm so glad I didn't spend actual money on them lol
@@TomKatStitchery ha ha yes that's the plan. It's very satisfying to be able to make exactly the garment you need when you know it isn't going to get year-round wear.
Thread Theory has the Jutland Pants: threadtheory.ca/collections/mens-patterns/products/jutland-pants-pdf . While it's technically a men's pattern, I'm sure it could be used for both with some minor alterations.
@TomKatStitchery I think I can use a non-stretch women's jeans pattern to adjust the Jutland. I just need to raise the waistband and add darts to the back waist. This pattern looks great and I might be able to reference it while using a toddler / kids Jean pattern to make some work pants for our kids. They love to build stuff with us. My husband is a contractor (masonry and carpentry) and I'm a union electrician.
Great video I love the Pattern Emporium short set idea! I may have to copy that. My sewing right now more cold weather related but I do need to get into some warm weather sewing. I am hoping to plan a spring and summer mini capsule for traveling. Looking forward to seeing your travel capsule. How do you go about planning what you want to make and fabrics you'll use? (what comes first the fabric for the pattern ...)
A lot of times, it's the fabric and then the pattern for me. I have some tried and true patterns that I return to when sewing so I let my imagination run when I am around beautiful fabrics.
Sounds like you’re going to be on the sewing machine almost nonstop. Yes very cold here in Virginia. No I’m not sewing yet. Still recovering from surgery. Doing ok but still quite a bit of pain with being up.
Man! Meds can so mess you up! And you don’t realize how bad it can get! I was put on these meds and gained 30 lbs. I’m finally of them and I’ve dropped 5 lbs in 1 week.
Rest assured! Nothing is changing on the current channel! I will continue to post videos every Tuesday and Friday and continue sharing my projects and sew alongs with you!
Not sewing related, so maybe you do not want to respond. I’m very inflamed as well. What kind of speciality doctor takes care of inflammation and how is inflammation monitored. My doctor has no suggestions. I’m already gluten free, dairy free, alcohol free and sugar free.
@@karlawallace1633 I see a doctor that specializes in women's health. He is private practice so we have to pay out of pocket for his services, but it has been 100% worth it. I have a couple of autoimmune diseases that my regular doctor only wanted to treat the symptoms so I moved on.

I can relate to how medical conditions impact fit of clothing. Thanks for sharing your personal story.

Love your pyjama fabric. They are going to look fantastic.
I think so too!!
You can do it! Make your birthday dress first and the rest will come together. Beautiful ideas!

I’ve made the Just Peachy shorts for my daughter. They’re her favorite shorts. Definitely do the yoga waistband.
Thanks for the advice!

The dress looks elegant, doesn’t it?

Fun to hear your enthusiasm about the beach!
I really love to get a little warmth back into my bones.
Do a monogram on the pocket of the pj’s!! Super easy on your Bernina.
I like that idea!

@@caesiusgeo oh good! You could make the whole family some great work pants!
Both swimsuit fabrics look like they would go together if you made one suit & accented with the paisley or vice versa.

The pajamas knit, is the pattern for knits or woven? Can we just interchange the two for pajamas?? That would open some doors for cute Jammies.
The pattern is for woven, but I'm going to use a knit. It's pretty easy to use a knit on a woven pattern, just not vice versa.
Man! Meds can so mess you up! And you don’t realize how bad it can get! I was put on these meds and gained 30 lbs. I’m finally of them and I’ve dropped 5 lbs in 1 week.
