can we use a brand new Tangem wallet or Trezor to restore our cryptos from Ledger? I had too many connection issues from Ledger and Ledger Live, that I missed out on the recent crypto rise. I tried buying 6 USB cords, which didn't fix the problem and even tried buying another brand new Nano X, and it still had connection issues, so I couldn't restore my cryptos. I was going to try restoring it from a brandnew TREZOR or TANGEM wallet.
Sounds like it could be an issue with your actual operating system (computer) then your ledger wallet. That said you can import the seed phrase from your ledger device into a new brand wallet. But you want to ensure that the wallet you import the seed phrase to supports the same coins that you hold on your ledger device otherwise they will not appear. Also, if you import a seed phrase into Tangem, Tangem does not currently support multiple addresses, so if you are using multiple addresses for one network like Ethereum on your ledger Wallet, it will not import all the addresses .
Thanks for the video. Lots of information to digest. I'm still looking for my first cold wallet. I'm currently divided between the nano x, flex which are pretty much similar or tangem which is my preferred choice but it only supports one address. Or I could go straight for the stax bc it looks super sick but expensive
Newb question: When you demonstrate purchasing crypto from exchange, it appears that you are able to withdraw it within minutes to hours. How did you avoid the 7 day hold for withdrawals? And when buying directly from Tangem via Mercuryo, is there no hold period?
As a newcomer to cryptocurrency, I greatly appreciate the assistance provided; my comprehension of cold wallet management and utilization has significantly improved.❤🙌🏽
Thanks so much for your amazingly helpful videos. I have the Tangem wallet. Most of my XRP are on the bsc chain inside Tangem. I have two questions: 1] are they secure on the bsc chain or is it better that I send/bridge them over to xrpl. 2] If it is recommended to move them from bsc to xrpl, what's the easiest way to do this inside tangem?
Hi bro and thanks...one question...when sending crypto to a tangem cold wallet...just like you did without using the seed phrase.and scanning of the cards..how will my tangem cards synchronise with what I added from my smartphone?¿???¿????
It’s all done on the blockchain. The Tangem app communicates with the blockchain to display your portfolio, transactions, etc Basically, that’s not something you concern yourself with. It just happens.
I know it's not tangems fault, it's an exchange issue. But everytime I try and transfer money to my tangem, the exchanges only let me tranfer a small amount then put a hold on my account. Out of the $2k im holding in exchanges I was only able to transfer $500 worth. My account has been on hold for days now. It's pissing me off. Any way around this?
Sounds like you need to increase your limits. I’d Google how you can do this on your exchange. It’ll likely be by connecting your bank account or more KYC
ok completly new to this. ? about what Network to use, So if I bought crypto on Coinbase moved it to my cold wallet and when time comes to sell I have to send it back to Coinbase? or can I use Kraken or another exchange? If I bought multiple crypto from say 2 or 3 different platforms (Coinbase, uphold, etc) can all my crypto be put on my cold wallet from these different platforms?
Yes. The exchange has nothing to with your wallet as they are completely separate. In reality, all you’re doing is sending crypto from one address to another. And when you send back to an exchange, you can send it back to one exchange. It doesn’t need to be the same exchange
Also is there a huge fee from your experience with transferring XRP to the cold wallet? I watched a different video they said at minimum you have to transfer 10 but they charged a rather large amount of XRP to do the move. Also seen videos that some platforms(coinbase, kraken etc) only allow you 2 move small amounts at a time? Is this accurate? If that’s the case I’d be spending more in fees that it’s worth moving the XRP. Just not sure if any of that is accurate
Yes, I touched on this in the video as well in case you missed it. I usually send back to an exchange to cash out. You can cash out directly from your cold wallet, but oftentimes the fees are higher.
I would like to thank u for ur effort and informative video. It will help alot to ppl new in crypto as me. My question is tht can we sell aur buy crypto while crypto sitting in cold wallet? Also do I have to sign up into solana or any blockchain?
Brother i appreciate you so much quick question. If you have an old device and buy a new one what do you do with the old one should you stop upgrading it and leave it alone, and if you do stop using it and stop upgrading it can it be compromised by not being upgraded
If you lose your seed phrase how do you loose access to all your crypto? I don't understand that part. If you are still accessing your wallet how can that occur?
You’re right, if your wallet is still setup and working, the keys remain on the device. BUT, let’s say your wallet breaks or you lose it or it gets stolen, and you don’t have your seed phrase elsewhere. Then it’s game over. Good question
I tried to check as much of the comments as possible for this question. You say its best to use a cold wallet to store your crypto because using an exchange like coinbase or Robinhood can alter or freeze your account. How can we trust when its time to sell your crypto it wont freeze it at that time ??
It could. The goal is to limit your exposure to exchanges as much as possible. Also, you can sell your crypto in your cold wallet for a stablecoin like USDT and effectively take profit that way. Then cash out little by little to be safe. I cover it all in this video: th-cam.com/video/hSpnLPWY2S8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6ONSRqTpvDMmVAVP
I explained what a hot wallet is in this video. Did you watch that part? That said, if you still have questions, this video will help you better understand it: Crypto Wallets: Hot Wallet vs Cold Wallet vs Exchanges (EXPLAINED) th-cam.com/video/qlzHmvbrSZk/w-d-xo.html

Hello. I swaped eth to iagon on eth network in desember 2024. On coinbase wallet. How do i swap/bridge to Cardano network. Thank you for super informative videos.
For the passphrase, would it only thwart someone who had your seed phrase on that particular device/wallet? If someone had your seed phrase they could still import to a new wallet, correct? Not to nullify the importance of it for a particular device, just trying to understand the relationship. Thanks for the video!
A passphrase creates a completely separate, hidden wallet. Here’s how it works: If you have a 24-word seed phrase, that’s one wallet. But when you add a passphrase to that seed phrase, it generates a completely new wallet. This new wallet is only accessible if you enter both the seed phrase and the passphrase together. It’s not tied to any specific device, so you can use it on any compatible wallet as long as you have the correct combination. So if someone gets your seed phrase, they can access that wallet. But not your hidden wallet (unless they also have the passphrase).
All cold wallets need to connect to an internet-enabled device (like a phone or computer) to interact with the blockchain and manage your funds. The key security feature of cold wallets is that your private keys are stored offline on a secure chip. This keeps them safe from online hacking attempts and physical theft.
New to crypto, maybe a dumb question but referring to Tangem seedless option… If my phone can remember or mimic by bank cards seed/keys (via Apple Pay, google pay etc), how do I know that Apple/Google is not storing that data from my Tangem card? I know they don’t store my bank card. They somewhat duplicate it with the banks permission and the bank still verifies the transaction. However I’m not aware of any laws to which these companies cannot store the seeds/keys from crypto through RFID/NFC via the tap option that Tangem uses. The app certainly doesn’t store the seed phrases being open source (although I know about the email breach which is why I don’t trust the generate and write seed phase thing in general). But I guess what I’m asking is how do I know my phone isn’t storing that information every time I make a transaction with my Tangem card? Has anyone thought of this? Can’t seem to find this topic anywhere.
@@Yewtube27 Tangem is immune to NFC skimmers, so there’s no way your phone would be able to extract your keys considering they’re protected by the secure element chip. They even tried it with a Flipper Zero. It’s a no go. Tangem thought ahead here
Ok I’m new to this. When you transfer from an an exchange to a tangem wallet for example it shows XRP ledger and inside that there a 2 different XRP which one would you use and what is the difference?
Use whichever one you select on the exchange you’re transferring from. XRP Ledger is the “true original” XRP created on its native blockchain (XRP Ledger). Whereas XRP BEP20 for example is a wrapped version of XRP. Wrapped meaning it’s a tokenized version of XRP that represents the actual XRP but on a different blockchain. Unless you have a specific desire to use XRP on a network like BNB, you probably just want to hold XRP on its native network
I'm on coinbase exchange, Can I use any cold wallet i buy to send my xrp from coinbase to my wallet and back to coinbase when I need to, or are their certain cold wallets better for sending and receiving from coinbase exchange. I'm new to all of this and need to get a cold wallet soon, any help would be great. what would be the best cold wallets for this with or without a display screen that are user friendly and secure.
Yes you can do that. All cold wallets are equally capable of sending/receiving crypto between exchanges. Just make sure the wallet you get supports the crypto you plan to secure. Happy to help you pick the right one. Lmk if you have any questions
Your tutorials are so informative! Your correct, crypto seems so confusing to us newbies. I recently bought the Tangem Wallet. Very easy to use.. You mentioned about using a Passphrase. I didn't see that option with Tangem. Do you know how to do it? Also, is there a way to verify, at a later time, the Seed Phrase I wrote down is correct? By the way, your slide titled, "Cold Wallet Security Features" has a misspelled word...should be "secrets".
Thank you. Tangem does have a passphrase option, but it’s not quite as user-friendly as on other wallets. Here’s a video about the passphrase if you’re interested: th-cam.com/video/NnZOEXbFovk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=n0bMuG5g-4K5deZW To check that you wrote down your seed phrase correctly. This is something you’d want to do when you initially set up the Wallet. Because the way you would do that is to factory reset your cards and set the Wallet up again by importing your seed phrase. But it would be risky to do now, because if you wrote your seed phrase down incorrectly, and you have crypto stored on it, and then you erase it from the wallet you would lose your crypto. And yes, I saw that. Unfortunately it was too late to fix. Thanks for pointing it out though.
I use uphold. Would you suggest I invest in the Uphold Vault to where my funds are safe or invest in a Cold Wallet (which I'm suggesting at this point)?
@cyberscrilla Thank you for your feedback. Didn't hurt to ask but by watching your material which is beyond informative it makes much sense. Thank you brother.
@@cyberscrilla Another question bro. I ordered the tangem wallet. What percentage is a good percentage(is there any rule of thumb) to store inside your wallet? I use two exchanges. Was just curious
Ok, so we know to guard the seed phrase with our lives.. we know it's generated once, then poof.... what are the private keys and where are they stored?
I explained private keys in the video. Here’s some more clarification: Seed Phrase = Master Key: The seed phrase is a set of words that can recover your entire wallet, including all private keys and accounts. It’s the foundation of your wallet. Private Key = Individual Account Key: Each account in your wallet (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana) has its own private key. These private keys are derived from the seed phrase and are used to sign and confirm transactions for their respective accounts. It’s all stored in the secure element chip.
Yes, you are correct and no wallet is immune to this because it’s a user error not a vulnerability with the software or the hardware. Another common scam, is scammers getting users to reveal their seed phrase. Also a user error. So yeah, pretty much most of the people who lose crypto, expose their keys themselves without knowing. That’s why educating yourself is so important because the wallets do a great job securing your keys, but it needs the help of the user
What do you think about BC Vault? I use them now but think I may need to get something else. I don't know my private keys because they don't recommend that. Thanks for the videos. And any help.
@@ronniesavini3220 I really like the flex and I appreciate your support if you do end up getting another wallet. Hi cyber scrilla I have decided I'm going with tangem to get my feet wet being a Newby I currently have cryto on a exchange called...river...what's your thought on getting 2 tangem cards the other 1 as a backup or get all 3 use 1 as a backup/later setup the 3rd card after I get comfortable with cold wallets...sorry to be so long winded...lol
There’s no point in saving 1 card as It would become useless. You must use a minimum of 2 cards to setup the Tangem wallet and each wallet in the app can only have a maximum of 3 cards. So if you only setup 2 cards at first, the 3rd one will go to waste since you can’t set it up on its own and you technically cant add it later. So just setup all 3
@cyberscrilla thanks again your vids are awesome so now in closing imma get all 3 cards and I know 1 card will be my main one I use alot and the other 2 will be what
I have lost my seed phrase to the company. I still have access to the wallet. I still purchase coins. What I want to know, is, do I set up a different account with a different company generate a seed phrase and transfer my only coin to the new company? Or can I download my coins to a Tangem, close the account, open a new account with the same company, get a new seed phrase and everything will be ok?
I’m not sure what you mean, the seed phrase is not attached to any company or to a specific device. If you lost your seed phrase, and you’re still holding coins on that wallet, you need to generate a new seed phrase immediately, and transfer your funds to that wallet.
@@cyberscrilla Do I really need a seed phrase? I have access to my account. I can purchase when I want. I have all my account information secured in a safe and safe deposit box. and a Tangem wallet. Just no seed phrase?
Exchanges are not a place to secure your crypto. Exchanges should only be used to buy, sell, and swap crypto. If you want to secure your crypto, get a cold wallet.
I listened to one of your videos and you talked about issues with Robinhood restricting your account and you had to hire a lawyer! I am having the same issue now for three week. What lawyer did you use?? I need to do something!!
I never had an issue with Robinhood and I never hired a lawyer. I had an issue with Coinbase, and it was my friend who threatened legal action, not me. He had AI write a letter threatening legal action
If a cold wallet self destructs and erases all data when the password has been guessed too many times. Does that mean the crypto has gone forever? Surely that’s no help to anyone?
No, that’s not how it works. Crypto exists on the blockchain, and you can’t erase it or the addresses it’s associated with. When a cold wallet erases data, it’s only removing the private keys from the device itself. As long as you have your seed phrase, you will ALWAYS be able to access your crypto. For example, if your wallet breaks or is stolen. You simply buy a new device (doesn’t even need to be the same brand) and import your seed phrase which hopefully you have written down somewhere
@ Thank you for the reply. Ok that makes more sense. So, If I retain my seed phrase forever but lose my cold wallet/ledger, then I try to access at a later date. How does a new ledger or the blockchain know my seed phrase to be able to check it? Surely that info exists somewhere else?, and then is this not available for hackers to hack also?
I’m not sure what you mean by that? When sending and receiving crypto, you just want to make sure that the network you’re sending crypto on is the same network you’re receiving it on in the receiving wallet.
I mean does the crypto have to be on the network that supports it or you lose it? I seen where if you send it on a network that its not supported on you lose it
@outlaw1172 Correct. You need to send the crypto to the right type of address (network) or you could lose it. Example: If you’re sending ETH from an exchange on the Ethereum network, the address you send it to needs to be an Ethereum address.
I bought the Tangem wallet from your recent qr code offer, I received it a few days ago (UK) and I can't get anywhere with it, ive scanned cards etc but the software just doesn't work, I can't do anything with it except maybe buy more Tangem cards of course it's rubbish, it's nothing like your demo on how to use, I don't have buttons to select Btc Im ver disappointed to say the very least.
I’m not sure what you mean. Did you even set it up yet? Sounds like you haven’t. Is the app compatible with your phone? Don’t just blame the wallet. There are things you need to do and check as a user too.
@@cyberscrillahi I can't believe I just managed to get it set up while stressing, you have to hold the cards (tap) for quite a long time, I didn't know so was banging my head against the wall, I just imported (received) funds, a small amount (test) and that took a little while so I thought I'd done that wrong as well haha I can laugh for a minute until I get the rest of my crypto over successfully from a diff platform, but no I wasn't blaming the wallet I was blaming 'you' haha sorry couldn't resist, here's hoping fingers crossed nothing goes wrong, thank you I'll tel my friends about your channel it's my fave at mo

Great video 🎉 one question. What’s the best app for keystone 3 pro? Both desktop and iPhone. Trying to setup the keystone bitcoin only Also how dose an air gap device make a wallet on the network if it’s never connected to the internet. Like how do the two communicate? If I make a wallet on the keystone and it’s never connected to the internet won’t you lose your wallet if the device gets lost?
Simply choose a software wallet that is designed for bitcoin. Here is a list of wallets compatible with the keystone 3 pro: keyst.one/supported-wallets-and-assets
Is it just me or is the biggest point of confusion the fact that these things are called "wallets" in the first place! Anyone would assume a "wallet" contains the asset, no wonder so many are having trouble getting this... O, and lets not talk about the asset being called "coins"... this is even a worse offender...you don't own "coins" in the typical sense and they're not in a "wallet" IMO these terms are also very cleverly thought out to attract retail investors not really informed, whereas some more appropriate terms probably would've deterrent a lot of them!?
For sure, it is very confusing. For example, a common thing to say is “keep your crypto in a cold wallet”. For an experienced user, we understand what that means. For someone new, that can be very confusing because wallets don’t actually hold any cryptocurrency, they hold the keys used to access it. However, I believe the word cryptocurrency is suitable, as it is literally a digital form of currency. But I do agree the term coins and tokens gets confusing.
Just purchased Keystone 3 pro direct from keystone. I then got my first crypto scam email with my name, phone number, and address in the email. All the info I just gave Keystone. I just received shipping information from Keystone that it’s shipped via amazon logistics. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of buying direct?
Keystone uses Amazon as their shipping agency. Your package is shipped from the nearest warehouse to you. And when you receive the wallet there are 2 authenticity checks to verify it’s legit and not tampered with. First is tamper tape on the wallet's package and second (and most importantly) is a web authentication to verify the device is authentic.

Could you please make a video on which wallets supports UtXo consolidation and some examples of it?
Hi bro and thanks...one question...when sending crypto to a tangem cold wallet...just like you did without using the seed phrase.and scanning of the cards..how will my tangem cards synchronise with what I added from my smartphone?¿???¿????
It’s all done on the blockchain. The Tangem app communicates with the blockchain to display your portfolio, transactions, etc
Basically, that’s not something you concern yourself with.
@cyberscrilla that's just it. I have done all that. My limits are like 10k a week. So this is my im confused
@cyberscrilla everytime I make a deposit or buy new crypto, i get a message saying I can't withdraw for 7 business days
ok completly new to this. ? about what Network to use, So if I bought crypto on Coinbase moved it to my cold wallet and when time comes to sell I have to send it back to Coinbase? or can I use Kraken or another exchange?
If I bought multiple crypto from say 2 or 3 different platforms (Coinbase, uphold, etc) can all my crypto be put on my cold wallet from these different platforms?
Yes. The exchange has nothing to with your wallet as they are completely separate.
In reality, all you’re doing is sending crypto from one address to another.
And when you send back to an exchange, you can send it back to one exchange. It doesn’t need to be the same exchange
@ thank you for the response. Could you do a video on figuring out what NETWORK your crypto is on? Totally confused appreciate your videos!
Would you recommend transferring your crypto back to an exchange once its time to cash out? Or do u have a recommended way to sell with lowest fees?
Yes, I touched on this in the video as well in case you missed it.
I usually send back to an exchange to cash out. You can cash out directly from your cold wallet, but oftentimes the fees are higher.
@cyberscrilla Thanks for the response man. So you convert to USD first on the cold wallet then move to an exchange and send to bank from there?
Very informative ,great job, thank u ❤
Thank you for watching!
I would like to thank u for ur effort and informative video. It will help alot to ppl new in crypto as me. My question is tht can we sell aur buy crypto while crypto sitting in cold wallet?

Brother i appreciate you so much quick question. If you have an old device and buy a new one what do you do with the old one should you stop upgrading it and leave it alone, and if you do stop using it and stop upgrading it can it be compromised by not being upgraded
If you are done with the device, it’s best to factory reset it to completely erase all your keys off of it.
@cyberscrilla thank you
Hey scrilla do you know what a passkey pin is on coinbase app? Is it a set of numbers i remember?
Thank you bro. This is very very helpful
Glad to hear that! Thank you for watching and leaving some feedback!
Question do you pay the blockchain with your crypto or can you pay them paper money?
Wow, going to send this to friends and families. The friends and families that will listen and invest...lol
😂 Thank you! Do you have many friends/family who are getting into crypto? Or have you noticed more people showing interest? Super curious
@cyberscrilla honestly just 1 😆. No one listening. I am going to try one more time. I been trying since 2021. Get in before the reset.
@@cyberscrilla ok Now I understand. Thanks for your reply.
I cover it all in this video: th-cam.com/video/hSpnLPWY2S8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6ONSRqTpvDMmVAVP
so what is a hot wallet? Totally new to your videos. Thanks

Thanks bro for the video.
No problem 👍

How is tangem secure if you connect your phone to it
All cold wallets need to connect to an internet-enabled device (like a phone or computer) to interact with the blockchain and manage your funds.
The key security feature of cold wallets is that your private keys are stored offline on a secure chip.
This keeps them safe from online hacking attempts and physical theft.
@cyberscrilla so when you check on the price of your asset it's not accessing the key?
@ nope. All that data is on the Blockchain.
New to crypto, maybe a dumb question but referring to Tangem seedless option…
If my phone can remember or mimic by bank cards seed/keys (via Apple Pay, google pay etc), how do I know that Apple/Google is not storing that data from my Tangem card?
Tangem thought ahead here
@@cyberscrillagood to know thanks for the reply👍🏻
Here’s a video about the passphrase if you’re interested: th-cam.com/video/NnZOEXbFovk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=n0bMuG5g-4K5deZW
To check that you wrote down your seed phrase correctly.
Uphold Vault is a not a true self-custodial wallet as they can recover keys for you. If you want true control and self custody, go with a cold wallet.
@cyberscrilla Thank you for your feedback. Didn't hurt to ask but by watching your material which is beyond informative it makes much sense. Thank you brother.
Happy to help. Lmk if you have any more questions
Here’s some more clarification:
Seed Phrase = Master Key: The seed phrase is a set of words that can recover your entire wallet, including all private keys and accounts.
@cyberscrilla so most of the hacks surrounding private keys are from signing malicious transactions? That's what I'm hearing. I appreciate your help
Great informative video

So just setup all 3
@cyberscrilla thanks again your vids are awesome so now in closing imma get all 3 cards and I know 1 card will be my main one I use alot and the other 2 will be what
They are all the same wallet. The extra cards are in case you lose some or they get damaged

I thought you’d grade Bitbox2 a Swiss wallet
Nah. Plenty of other options I’d use before Bitbox personally
Do you have to be on the same blockchain your crypto is on?
I’m not sure what you mean by that?
When sending and receiving crypto, you just want to make sure that the network you’re sending crypto on is the same network you’re receiving it on in the receiving wallet.
I mean does the crypto have to be on the network that supports it or you lose it? I seen where if you send it on a network that its not supported on you lose it
@outlaw1172 Correct.
You need to send the crypto to the right type of address (network) or you could lose it.
Example: If you’re sending ETH from an exchange on the Ethereum network, the address you send it to needs to be an Ethereum address.

Not only will you be paid a fee when swapping crypto to something else, just remember folks it's a taxable event.
100%
Is it just me or is the biggest point of confusion the fact that these things are called "wallets" in the first place! Anyone would assume a "wallet" contains the asset, no wonder so many are having trouble getting this...
O, and lets not talk about the asset being called "coins"... this is even a worse offender...you don't own "coins" in the typical sense and they're not in a "wallet"
IMO these terms are also very cleverly thought out to attract retail investors not really informed, whereas some more appropriate terms probably would've deterrent a lot of them!?
For sure, it is very confusing.
For example, a common thing to say is “keep your crypto in a cold wallet”.
For an experienced user, we understand what that means.
For someone new, that can be very confusing because wallets don’t actually hold any cryptocurrency, they hold the keys used to access it.
However, I believe the word cryptocurrency is suitable, as it is literally a digital form of currency.
But I do agree the term coins and tokens gets confusing.

You’re above and beyond. Thank you.
