Awhile back and I mean years ago when you started talking about the value of a PDW type setup I listened. For me it was a gamechanger I’m an ATV rider and found that having something in a backpack that was light was a heck of a lot easier than cruising around the woods with a gun rack catching on everything. Thanks Gabe for spreading the good word!
I had a little old lady come in the shop looking for a shotgun for home defense. I handed her a couple of them to try. he had trouble holding it up. I showed her the under arm tuck methods and how to use furniture to support the weight. Then I put a 9mm SMG style in her hand . She fell in love with it; especially since it was 9mm just like her pistol. (no recoil to worry about) I still have my guns that I went through your SMG class several years ago. Love running these SMG on steel at 10 +yards.
I have a colt transition model 9 mm . 10.5 a1 with the newer a2 lower. Works fine and light but was a pain to get forms signed. Local sheriff was on a ego kick didn't want civilians to have. Idiot . Very good for late night guests that should not have stopped in.
For me it's a Ruger LC carbine .45 with a Trijicon MRO and a 2.25" vertical foregrip. Supremely capable for home defense, super portable and lots of fun at the range with cost per round at about 40 cents. Takes all full-sized Glock .45 mags, so options are endless.
I am with you Gabe. Most of the time my AR9 Glock Mag lower is what goes along with me. Shares ammo and mags with my G19. If I am in a small pack or need lighter weight. G17L with the Endotactical Brace Adapter.
@@suareztactics Hi Gabe! Sorry, I had my volume down on that one and didn't realize it. But some of the other videos in the garage sound really quiet, I notice that from time to time. But I guess that's why god invented headsets! LOL! Sounds good when I use those.
Interesting you mention Chuck Taylor (R.I.P.); if memory serves me right, though he was very anti-9mm when it came to pistols, he was a lot more generous in his attitude toward the 9mm Parabellum as an SMG cartridge.
Chuck was "The SMG" guy for anything other than MP5. Chuck didn't care for the MP5 much, even though everyone on earth used it. The two MP5 Gurus were Phil SIngleton and a little known door kicker named Gary Rovarino from LASD. On the 9mm. Chuck was not as pendantic on the caliber issue as many of his contemporaries. I often saw him carrying a Glock 9mm rather than an "Excalibur 1911" like Smith, Cooper or Hackathorn. And in truth, today...with ammo quality being what it is...between 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP...caliber is virtually irrelevant. That is from coroners and ER docs by the way rather than the gelatin folks.

Gabe. You’re an inspiration as always. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Great tool. Very versatile.
Why is the volume on your videos always so low? I have to blast my speakers at 100 just to hear it clearly.
I just checked it on two different laptops, my TV and my phone. Sounds fine to us.

@@suareztactics Yeah, if memory serves me right, Chuck claimed that the MP5 was prone to overheating and cookoffs.
If we're going specialized, then I think the SMG is the ultimate platform for 10mm. I look forward to hearing what you learn!
HD setup is Beretta 92FS Brigadier and a CX-4 Storm. I agree with the concept.
Viva Beretta! 😎👍
What is the optic and Back up sights? Thanks Gabe. Great stuff as usual. Cheers mate
